Location, parking, price
I booked a twin bed room for two staff members while on a business trip, they both complained that the beds were far too small for an adult male, to such an extent that one of them spent the night sleeping on the floor, will stick to Premier Inn in the future!
Unfortunately, due to a medical issue we were unable to benefit from the reservation. However, the hotel staff were absolutely fantastic for their understanding and allowed us to cancel the booking, even though we had checked in and unpacked our suitcase! We will definitely be staying there again.
Restaurant staff are unbelievably slow. 35 minutes to get a breakfast with only about 8 people in the restaurant.
Everything we needed for a weekend break and an excellent breakfast.
The lift was a bit strange but didn't bother us.
We have been visiting this hotel for 30years so sad to it go. I like it's old fashioned decor and warm feel. It is a bit run down now and does need renivotating but wish it was not closing. Very sad
The fact it is closing down
A good hearty breakfast easy parking Lyndhurst christmas lights
Only one real ale, and this was off Breakfast buffet was warm/cool rather than hot.
Atmosphere was easy going, informal and laidback.
Probably needs some refurbishment in places, but we were disappointed to hear that it is closing down on Jan 4th as we would otherwise have revisited.
Location and price
Well past its best. Poor bathroom Poor bed Noisey
It was central to the forest and very quiet
The location was spot on for commuting to Southampton
The hot breakfast buffet was anything but.
Although there was a problem, it was dealt with outstandingly, surprised and reassured that some establishments put the customer first without question
Some areas of hotel were not heated and smelt of damp in corridors.. Not good for my asthma. I didn't stay for second night braise of this but manager was magnificent about it. Things cab go wrong, it's how is put right that matters
Friendly staff, good breakfast; imposing building.
Lyndhurst is a nice village
To much traffic noise, poor cleaning in the restaurant, leaky windows
Nice old building, bedroom adequate breakfast and dining room excellant
Decor was tired, but was nice and clean
Everything about you. Great breakfast and fantastic room.
Ample free parking, good full English breakfast, reasonable room rate.
Very dated decor, room very small, stayed 2 nights, bed not made, coffee etc not topped up etc after first night. No a big problem at the price.
Good Location, Excellent size room. Breakfast good, Helpfulness of staff
No curtains or blinds in bathroom, central heating, didn't come on until 8.00pm.
Breakfast was very good, grounds very good, nice casual feel to the hotel, and very good accepting dogs
the evening menu and meal.plus our first bedroom was totally unaceptable due to the smell, this was rectified very quickly.having a cappiceno coffee that came out of a machine was a grave mistake.
The atmosphere was lovely. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful surroundings. Food very good. Will definitely visit again. Thank you.
Convenient location for walking to restaurant Comfortable mattress(but spoiled sleep by hard pillows).
BREAKFAST: Cold fried eggs with a crust on top. Anaemic looking and tasteless scrambled eggs. 'Croissant on demand' notice' not prominent. Had it been so, this review would have been more favourable. Pillows very thin and hard. Reception sent up 2 when we phoned (why no extras in the room?). Toilet roll was half used and again, no replacement in bathroom. Small chip in toilet seat No hotel procedures or details in room: breakfast; check out times; fire notice. Reasonably priced but in no way does it compete with local B&Bs we have used in the past
Staff were as helpful as could be but seems to be a lack of staff
My room was dirty,Wallpaper coming off walls and carpets stained and very worn I was without a shower for three of my five day stay as it didn't work.bed was two mattresses pushed together and not same level. Breakfast was always just warm and in general hotel smells of dogs it's not what I expected from there website and for a hotel in the New Forest I was shocked
Friendly welcome from reception Room clean and tidy Comfortable bed
Fire alarm going off at 2am then stopping but no-one knowing whether to leave hotel or not Shower kept going hot then cold, not helped by the mixer tap not shutting off the tap when using the shower part
We had a lovely few days away staying in this hotel. Nice friendly staff. Spacious room. Near local amenities
Restaurant menu bit expensive. Hard to find staff (no one behind bar or at reception) at 9.30pm!
