great holiday location, walking mountain biking or white water rafting and canoeing plus lots of bars / restaurants for after or instead of.
The horse shoe falls are entirely uninspiring. more of a small weir in a field.
the 20mph speed limits are ridiculous in places. steap hills and low speed mean low gears and high revs. Hardly improving the lives of those who live there.
Wales has so much to offer, nice people, beautiful hills and rivers and some of the best beaches Ive ever seen.

Llangollen was very busy on the afternoon of arrival.
Llangollen was very busy on the afternoon of arrival. Some areas are still looking shabby especially some of the original hotels which is a shame ie window frames, doors etc etc, Road works were gone which was a huge improvement from my last visit. Small businesses exist and artisan eateries seem to be doing well. Large mobile home site was full. 20mph a nightmare for locals who are having to adjust to changes in various locations at main roads in from 30 to 40? and 20 to 50 at various stretches, there seems to be little sense in the changes that have been made, New game. spot 30mph??? .

The staff were absolutely fantastic ! Friendly, helpful and a good sense of humour, especially Cath :0).
We were given a private parking spot in the grounds of the property which was very useful.
Llangollen is a nice friendly town which we found to be very quiet, picturesque and peaceful.

We love Llangollen.
We love Llangollen. It's such a pretty place in the middle of mountains and a fast flowing river. The historical buildings make it so interesting - medieval, Georgian, Victorian - no two buildings look the same. There are plenty of interesting shops, pubs and places to eat. The canal is so pretty too, and very peaceful. You can sit and enjoy a beer or go for a long walk to the falls and see the source of the canal. Highly recommended.

It is a compact town so everything in walking distance.
It is a compact town so everything in walking distance.
I went out to eat at The Delph, Garth which isn`t too far from Llan
I attended my mothers funeral at St.Collen`s Church which is next door to The Hand.
Nice hotel. Fantastic location and views. Had a large balcony room overlooking the river. Bed was comfortable. Nice listening to the rapids. Decent 3 course meal for Sunday dinner. Great focal point for walking round the Llangollen. We walked to the Aqueduct and back calling in Lalngollen for a meal one night. Lucky to get a parking space as it's limited right next to the hotel but then spotted there is ample parking above the hotel and just need cross the little bridge though maybe a bit tricky for less able with cases.
This hotel and spa is by far one of the best in the area, From the parking of the car the view of the excellent well laid out garden to the well laid out hotel was pleasing to the eye.
The staff were well presented and very professional in there approach to guests. The room was well laid out and comfortable
The spa was well organized and having one hour complimentary use was a bonus,
I will certainly return to this hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good hotel
This has to be the cleanest B+B / Hotel we have ever stayed at. The room was beautifully decorated with a massive bed and all the amenities you could need including a decent sized mini fridge. Shower water pressure was really good as well 😊😊
Continental breakfast in the morning was lovely and filling with a fresh pot of coffee.
Sue our host was absolutely lovely and even offered to drop us at the local pub so we could both have a drink. This place is highly recommended.
I have not visited Llangollen for 30 odd years and fair play, Abbey Grange Hotel delivered the goods to maintain my good impressions of the area.
I was in room 6, I highly recommend it, it was spacious and very clean with en-suite.
The bar served local ales and fantastic food.
The staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful.
The local area is amazing, I was in the area on business, but can’t wait to return with the family on a holiday.
I will be back!!
Very warm welcome from the receptionist. All staff throughout our stay were exceptional.
The room was bigger than rooms we have stayed in before. Clean, comfortable and warm.
We had an evening meal in the hotel which was fabulous and not over priced along with various drinks from the bar. A lovely roaring fire to keep us happy, while we chatted. Breakfast again was served with smiling staff (who were run off their feet). Nothing was too much trouble.
It was a well looked after apartment, clean and well decorated. It was warm when we came in of an evening, also you could lower or higher heating to what you wanted.
We liked the time spent thinking about how the space was used.
It was central to shops, transport, activities, eateries and more. There were lovely walks close to Llangollen centre or further afield.
Ourselves never met the hosts but the things wrote in the visitors book were good 👍.
Such a well presented cottage with some lovely finishing touches that really made it feel both welcoming but with a little touch of luxury and dog friendly! Perfect location for exploring all that Llangollen and the beautiful surrounding countryside has to offer with great canal walks on the doorstep. Despite being a stones throw from the town it was very quiet at night. The use of the parking permit is a really nice addition.
Great location, clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. The owners made contact with us via booking.com app and email, check in was easy, there was parking right outside. We will definitely be returning to Llangollen Town House, thank you for a wonderful stay! A refreshing change to be able to book a whole house rather than just a hotel room for twice the price.
The location is ideal for a night out around Llangollen, the staff are very friendly and prices cheaper than some of the nearby pubs. The jewel in the crown is the amazing cooked Welsh Breakfast, the quality of the produce just jumps of the plate and it is cooked fresh to order and was the best breakfast I have ever had while staying over in many hotels in the UK.
Room servicing was limited, whilst we expected this to a degree it was a minor problem that we had to ask more than once for basic supplies like toilet rolls, towels, tea and coffee.
The hotel was busy with guests and weddings which was really good to see.
Location great for walking into Llangollen and roads good to go further afield.
Warm friendly hosts, the room was amazing with exceptional views across Llangollen. The breakfast was cooked to perfection using quality ingredients.
I felt unwell in the morning we were checking out and the host very kindly allowed us to check out slightly later. This was helpful as I didn't have to rush. Highly recommend
The location of the Hotel is perfect right next to the scenic river Dee! My room , which included bath and shower was comfortable and clean. Breakfast with table service excellent and good choice . Staff are friendly and helpful . Whenever I visit Llangollen The Hand is my favourite place to Stay!
2nd time we’ve visited Llangollen and both times we stayed here. Location is great. Facilities are great. Price is even better. Wi-Fi worked well enough to work remotely and there is a shed for those bike touring like us. Jamie you left such a positive impression, thank you for a great stay!
Great welcome: all needs considered, even including cold water in the fridge when needed. Room was comfortable with refreshments provided; breakfast delicious. Llangollen is a lovely town with lots of activities. We enjoyed the aqueduct boat trip, Plas Newydd house, Fouzis for tea.
Room was comfortable and warm ,bed comfortable , breakfast staff friendly and helpful ,ideally located for Llangollen and visiting the food festival , breakfast was all freshly cooked which makes a change from some hotels , car park was a bonus
We stayed at this hotel for our trip to Llangollen Santa train (perfect location) Staff were amazing so friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous too staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate us. Room was spotless. Will definitely be staying again.
Lovely authentic inn in the middle of Llangollen. Friendly staff and great wine. The oldest wine bar in Wales apparently. Also, the biggest TV I've ever seen in a hotel room.
