Lynford Hall Hotel is a spectacular mansion with a beautiful location in the heart of Thetford Forest in Norfolk, among lakes, parkland and thousands of acres of forest. The hotel has been fully refurbished and is located in Mundford, about 7 miles from Thetford and the American airbase in Lakenheath. It is easily accessed from the A1065, A134 and A11. The Jacobean-style Grade II listed (historically designated) mansion was constructed between 1857 and 1862 to replace a former hall built in 1720. Its beautiful landscaped gardens overlook Lynford Lake. Lynford Hall Hotel is a prime East Anglian wedding and business location. The popular TV series 'Allo,Allo', 'Dads Army' and 'You Rang My Lord' have been filmed here. Hotel Rooms: 40 The most recent booking for this hotel was made on May 21 at 06:23 from United Kingdom.

The restaurant quality was excellent. Staff polite and efficient. Bedroom was tired and dated. Heating not up to the job. Lack of toiletries. High price for the standard.

Good value, confortable room, adequate evening meal. Faded grandeur within; has the gardener gone missing?

We stayed there as part of a wedding party. It's a wonderful stately type hotel, it's not often one would get the chance to stay in such a place at such great value. The food was excellent. The staff were all very friendly. This wonderful building is in need of many millions of £s to bring it back to it's former glory.

Good venue for a wedding. Reception staff were friendly. Restaurant service both for breakfast and dinner was extremely slow. The first morning we didn't get any toast with our breakfast. The second morning there wasn't any hot water out to make tea with. The coffee was brought out 20 minutes before any food arrived. There wasn't a lot of choice for dinner - we had steak and one piece was cooked and other piece was raw. When mentioned to the waitress she took it away and said she would mention it to chef - but didn't come back to let us know what chef said. The beds were extremely hard and we only had one pillow each. We asked for more pillows and didn't get them the first night so had to ask again the next day and they had been put behind the reception desk but not delivered to our room. After asking again we received them.

Lynford Hall Hotel has the potential to be an absolutely beautiful place, the gardens are lovely and the entrance hall and bar are a nice place to relax. The staff were all fantastic and friendly and really make you feel welcome, they most definitely get 10/10. Most of the staff were very knowledgeable about the place and answered a lot of questions. the food quality is of a high standard it's just a shame the rest of Lynford Hall doesn't quite match it. I booked this hotel because we were going to a gig in Thetford Forest and we thought we would stay away and make a night of it, I got our room for around £60 but then our party expanded and for another room at much shorter notice the price was £90, this was definitely not a £90 a night room, though I didn't begrudge paying £60. Lynford Hall is beautiful but it needs a lot of work, it must be a real money pit for the owners, there are parts that look derelict and some of the decor could be improved. The coach house rooms we stayed in were an adequate size but there was poor attention to detail, mildew around shower cubicles, a broken shower hose and the water in the toilet when we arrived looked as though somebody had gone to the toilet and not flushed it - seeing as the colour of the toilet water did not change after flushing I then put it down to the fact the cleaning is probably not done very rigorously. We did notice also that the walls between the rooms in the coach house are paper thin, we could hear everything our friends were doing in the adjacent room, especially when they used the bathroom. I probably sound like a serial complainer - I'm not, I would stay here again because Lynford Hall is very intriguing, but in it's current state it's not a £90 a night hotel. Finally I think the breakfast should be incorporated in the price of the room,

It looked fresh and the views were great. Only being picky, if it had been a personnel choice i would have picked somewhere with a pool.

Pleasant grounds, relaxed atmosphere. Sound proofing in rooms was virtually non existant. Could hear normal conversations and TV,s from rooms either side. Not good when one neighbour decides to start watching tv from 5.30am.

Lynford Hall Hotel is a very historic building and the grandeur of this history is evident as you drive up. We did not meet anyone other than the night porter as our work meant late arrival and early starts, so we did not get a true feel of the place as a hotel. The rooms were clean and nothing was shabby or worn. The bathrooms were great and the showers were brilliant, giving a real jet of water than cleaned and revived wonderfully. The peace and quiet was also just what was needed. Our only negative was that the bed was lumpy, and the room was quite basic in it's provision - adequate for a business trip, but for a social or holiday, I would have wanted more in the way of provisions.

The staff were fantastic - very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has an air of grandeur - albeit in need of some tlc. We stayed in the stable block which has been converted with very thin walls between the rooms - we could hear everything our neighbour was doing!

The grounds were great and relaxing The staff for the restaurant were poor, waited 30mins for a burger and in the morning waited 25 mins for breakfast to turn up and they bough the cold coffee and the wrong order. Attention detail was missing!

Very nice house, great gardens, good breakfast Really really cold on the room (too big for such a poor heating). Freezing the whole night! + not really suitable for late arrivals or early starts (dinner finishes before 9pm, breakfast after 7:30)
