Very peaceful and exclusive

Staff need to be more welcoming. Like good morning, hello, can I help etc, just little words but missing! Breakfast should be served in rotation and quicker!

Golf facilities although didnt use them

£3 credit card surcharge £17 for a mediocre breakfast Tv difficult to work

Did not like the food and could not use the pool as full of children having swimming lessons

Poor housekeeping and when I complained to reception the did slightly better the following day however when I saw the lady she was quite rude I assume because I had complained.

Very warm welcome, staff were friendly and very helpful. Room was fantastic - very comfortable and everything you needed. Breakfast was worth getting up for - really tasty and cooked to perfection. Wonderful surroundings - all in all we couldn't fault anything. One of the best hotels we've stayed in and we will definitely return.

Have stayed a few times - very relaxing.

Booked meal in restaurant to celebratgienic.e our anniversary but was freezing. Had to be moved to eat in bar area - very disappointing. Also large crack and chip in bathroom sink - not very hygienic.

Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us!! Brilliant venue it was our 2nd stay here and will definetly won't be our last!!!

This is difficult but only thing I can think of is the spa had no jacuzzi!!! Shame but everything else was really good!!

A luxurious hotel with friendly and helpful staff, we loved the large swimming pool and saunas/steam rooms it was very relaxing. The food was excellent, really enjoyed the breakfast, the eggs were cooked perfectly - well done chef! I would definately go back.

There were some very selfish loud young men staying over on Saturday night who were banging on a door near my room and shouting. Had to go out to find night porter who was very helpful and was doing his best to quieten them.

Very large, comfortable bedroom, good facilities.

Great location and facilities in a lovely environment. We will definitely be going back.

The lack of a hot tub in the spar, but this was a minor niggle as the hotel, it's staff and its general ambiance was superb.

The bathroom was superb. Well fitted out and lovely and clean. The bedroom was nice and comfortable,clean and fresh. The evening meal was perfect as was the breakfast the following morning. There was a good choice of menu served by professional staff and the meals were well cooked and presented. As our stay was a 70th birthday present I cannot comment on price or value for money but I would like to say that our overnight stay at Mcdonalds Portal hotel was a most enjoyable occasion and I would not hesitate in recommending it to my friends and associates.

friendly staff especially at check out, he made us feel special and took the time to engage in general conversation. The check in was completely different, on the phone for 5 mins, then gave us room keys and seemed unhappy.

there was nothing we didnt like at all, just £145 for room without breakfast was a little expensive.
