Macdonald Windsor    

The lavender soaps were great! (says my wife). Very clean and modern. Great location to Windsor Castle and shops. The guards march right past the front to their changing posts.

Excellent location! Was treat like royalty from the second we arrived, nothing was too much trouble for staff and made fuss of our 3 year old. Would Definately recommend and will stay again

a quality hotel, with excellent interior design throughout and high class service from all the staff, the room was a good size and matched the standard of the rest of the hotel, not cheap,but you would expect it to be, due to the location, almost opposite Windsor castle, nothing but praise for this first class hotel.

lack of breakfast, this was not included in the cost of the room which was £213.50, per night. To pay 17.50 extra for breakfast was to my mind an excessive charge. The bathroom was spklendis but being older it was for one of us impossible to get into the bath and for the second member it was extremely difficult and dangerous (no grab rail at this end of the bath) The receptionist was extremely rude on our departure and if she had been one member of my staff she would have been dismissed. She made a remark which if we were positive we heard correctly we most certainly have requested to speak with the Manager. The conceirge was most helpful.

Loved everything about this hotel and would definitely come back again!!

Nothing not to like

Staff were incredibly friendly. I stay at a lot of hotels for work purposes, and the check-in/out process here was impeccable - as was the valet parking services. Brilliant location...

Beds a little small in size in the classic rooms, and it's a shame that there were no spa facilities or pool at this hotel... would have been perfect then

the lack of the TOILET BRUSH in every toilet of the hotel!!!!!! we asked for a cot for our 1 month old baby and we received a kind of baby crib with an not breathable mattress, which is dangerous for new born babies. At the end of the day the baby slept in his pushchair. Also the elevator for the pushchair was broken and nobody among the stuff helped my wife when she was alone an me to rise the pushchair over the staircase at the main entrance.

Position right next to Windsor Castle, and the friendly staff. Great steaks in restaurant.

LED lighting - impossible to read by bedside light, and couldn't read the menu in the restaurant - combination of colour and too dim.

staff were very professional, room was excellent. The whole hotel had a feel of luxury to it.

relaxing in the bath, - room 421 - I noticed the gunge around the inside of the toilet basin - not noticeable from any normal position. Deep clean once a month would be good.

The staff was extremely professional, friendly and helpful. The hotel is very contemporary and beautifully designed and decorated. It exceeded all our expectations.

Location only 20 minutes from Heathrow, excellent service, luxurious room, fabulous food and right in the heart of historic Wndsor. We will book an extra night next time to enjoy the location more.

The only criticism would be the lighting in the lobby area was very dim. The reception area could benefit from some gentle spotlighting to guide you in as it is a king way from the High Street entrance.

Very unfriendly reception staff on arrival. Car parking delay on arrival ( bags took a long time to reach the room, and on departure someone else's bags were put into our car boot in error)

Someone (staff with broken English female) knocked our door at 9 am on the Sunday woke our baby and let herself into our room Whislt we we naked in bed ! Not happy about this as the baby woke up and we didn't get a lay in on our honeymoon weekend !

Staff were really friendly and they all provided an excellent service. Always ready to help and please. Hotel was clean and staff welcoming. Heated flooring in the bathroom. Shower room spacious. Ideal location. It was across the road from Windsor Castle. Decor.... devine.

Food was excellent. Great sleep - dark and quiet. Opposite castle so very good location.

Being charged for tray to be delivered as prices were not cheap anyway but food was of a good standard.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel was immaculate.

The fire alarm going off in the early hours, which was a false alarm thank goodness.

I have not stayed at a bad Macdonald Hotel, they are always clean, staff are excellent and hotel has a luxury feel. Prices do reflect this but it is the old adage, you get what you pay for!

I had to pay for Parking, which although not unexpected considering the hotels location would be nice to have this included in the room rate.
