Had an amazing time when we arrived found out we was upgraded to penthouse site which was huge. I would highly recommend staying and will definitely be staying again.
Otherwise, a comfortable but expensive hotel. Most staff are friendly.
* Not given a face towel one day; and room not made on one of the days; when a staff with a trolley cleaning in the corridor just in front of 2 rooms away, she said, that is not one of the one I am responsible for!
Newly refurbished bedroom!
Unfortunately cheap materials used in bathroom- broken toilet seat and shower leaking over floor! Shame when money had been spent to refurbish! Bar and restaurant dated.
Travel lodge standard breakfast
Nice, clean, spacious double room with really comfortable king size bed on the tenth floor with far reaching views over Cardiff...great tasting buffet breakfast in the morning with a variety of choices catering for everyones needs....
The sink in the ensuite bathroom was blocked upon arrival, had to use bath to wash, clean teeth and shave etc.....
How one could charge £279 for 1 night in a tiny ,no hanging space as such no complimentary water, no mini bar-excessive price for breakfast. still had a fag smell. Poor value for money
Location / rooms
Drains smell in the bathroom
Large bedroom with huge windows. Very pleasant receptionist. Convenient for shopping and the Motorpoint Arena.
Wasn't very keen on the cooked breakfast.
The fact you have to pay for car parking when you have already paid £139 for a room ( without breakfast) is not good value for money in my opinion. We ended up struggling to park and ended up with a parking ticket because we didnt know the area and the hotel car park was full!
Just meet all our needs, it was so quiet overnight it is the best we every stayed in, such a good 2 nights sleep. Will be back.
Easy to walk into centre of town Secure, safe parking at reasonable charge Good views from upper floors
Hands down the staff were the best feature - every single one meets your gaze and smiles a greeting. Size of room (queen), gym was great especially for a hotel, spa/pool area could do with some rejuvenating.
Bathroom had a shower with a disabled chair in it, which is good in and of itself, but it took up a lot of room; no tub considering it's a spa hotel; room could do with a bit of refreshing.
room wasn,t cleaned for 2 days.
Bathroom smelt like there was a problem with the drains ! Having to park across a busy road and carry bags was not pleasant , paid for an executive suite ,and not able to reserve a space in carpark , not good !
Spa and gym facilities are really very good, the rooms are a really good size
Good location. Great views from upper floors. Friendly and efficient staff. Will use again.
Great location for the city centre. Car park under hotel. (£12 p/day) Friendly, efficient staff. Queen room was a decent size.
More than I would usually pay for a room for one night!
staff location facilties
Perfect location and parking
Great room and comfy bed
No beer on second night. Problem with gas (hotel not me!)
Massive room with lots of extras such as coffee machine, dressing gown and toiletries. Enjoyed the pool and the breakfast was good quality with a wide variety of food. Would definitely stay again. Very well placed for the city centre shops.
Dark old furniture, shabby carpet, loo smelt of sewage, not laid out well at all.
Spacious clean rooms. Swimming pool area not too busy. Really close to city centre.
Rooms a bit impersonal. Strong smell of chlorine in reception & pool area
The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. The spa nice. We ordered room service and were very impressed with the quality of the food and timeliness of delivery.
We asked for early check in and were told the only room left was disabled room 601. We accepted it but were disappointed to find it was not very clean and had soiled carpets and armchairs. The shower room was a little old fashioned and when the shower running it was very noise due to some sort of pump. The room was spacious but just rather tired.. and wonder if that is precisely because it is a disabled room. Our stay was not spoilt by the room but I do think the room should be given an overhaul to make it as nice as I am sure the rest of the rooms are.
