Mercure Holland House Hotel and Spa  

I likes the fact that it is minutes away from the town centre which made access to the Motorpoint arena very easy. The staff were very friendly.

The shower / Toilet door did not close and could not be locked. The shower had no hot water and drainage was an issue. Tv areial reception was poor, channels were flickering. Staff did not advise us that we need to have one access card in a panel on the wall to activate the electricity.

Good Location & a great price deal.

Despite being requested there were no glasses in the bathroom, & only 2 small towels. - no pens/ writing paper. Breakfast was delivered to the room by a house/ room maid, who was particularly officious & grumpy, & who seemed to care even less.

liked the room, spacious, good views, pool excellent with good book in re lockers etc. Excellent staff dealt with main problem of terrible noise issues from partying Argentinains all night, and again early morning when they all got up to leave early, we didn't sleep a lot sadly! Would rather have had a good nighrts sleep than the refund, but that was good of you. not sure we'd stay again...as maybe taking big groups is your specaility...we came for the rugby which was great as we won! Staff all very good, Reception, pool, breakfast, complaints! ooops should this should be in the column below?

see above steps up to foyer were very dirty, fag ends, grime etc.....a pity as the foyer floor shone!

The location was good and the view was excellent

The room had not been set up correctly (one towel, one robe, no mini bar, not enough toiletries) I therefore spent the first half hour of our stay up and down to reception fetching things we needed. After the mini bar was supplied there was no bottle opener, someone came with a bottle opener but couldn't leave it which defeats the purpose of having drinks in the room! The room could have been cleaner and the sofa supplied had holes in both arms. I would not say the hotel was poor but not near the standard of similar priced hotels

Shower wasn't great and breakfast room was makeshift but food was good.

what we expected and more room and a lovely view over the city and very spacious, staff very accommodating and most helpful.

I liked everything about the hotel, especially the bedrooms, they were very spacious and well laid out.

Very helpful staff. Large comfortable room, well equipped gym and nice sauna/ steam room/ pool facilities. Convenient for centre of Cardiff and the university.

Sound insulation was not great - I was in Cardiff for the weekend on a course and was woken by drunk women in the corridor in the early hours of Saturday night. This only happened once.

The whole hotel was of a really high quality. The facilities were very posh and the room was gorgeous with an amazing view. Staff were friendly and despite the city centre location it was cheaper than other hotels I looked at!

No complaints whatsoever. Lovely stay.
