Location was the major attraction - just 4 or 5 minutes walk to Eurostar. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Early breakfast. Not much noise from outside...
...but, quite noisy from other rooms - sounds from water, doors and voices.
So close to the station, sparkly clean and pleasant staff.
The hotel is very close to Kings Cross, but on a very quiet street. The breakfast was fine. You have to ask for seconds, but the staff were happy to do that. It was fine for staying if you want to use your money for other things.
My room was non-smoking but reeked of cigarette smoke. I was on the bottom floor and could not open the windows to clear the smell, but no outside noise. Walls are very thin so if neighbor is watching TV, you are too. The shower had some rust which was not very nice.
location Breakfast was good
Bathroom area like a cupboard, needed updating
Location to Kings Cross
bed too small to be used as a double. a good thing my husband wasn't with me. He is a big man. Only enough space for me and I'm 10st and petit!
100 metres from busy Euston rd but fronts on to Argyel gardens so is quiet. The other side of euston rd is kings cross tube station, kings cross intercity and international station. Breakfast included and it is good and quick. it is not the ritz but neither is the price
area around kings cross is improving rapidly but it is a bit short on restaurants, so use it as a B and B.
Great location just a stone's throw from Kings Cross.
I was inside rather than outside Breakfast was reasonable
Bathroom was a converted cupboard No double-glazing windows Cold room Bed was not comfy
Location, quietness, private facilities, help desk, cleanness
Breakfast service was not good. Wifi is weak. Room is very small
Very close to St Pancreas Staff were very friendly Free wifi was excellent
Pillows were uncomfortable Mattress protector woke you up every time you moved Fire alarm went off at 7.30am on a Sunday morning. No explanation or apology
Room very small, very small bed, small bathroom. The rooms need urgent refurbishment: old carpet, old curtains and old duvet. Basic breakfast. When we arrived (2:15 pm) the reception was closed and we had to wait. The rooms have no hair dryer as described.
-Location (near Kings Cross station & London Tube) -Breakfast -Daily cleaning
-Shared toilet & shower -Unstable internet connection (WiFi)
Location Cooked Breakfast included Good value for location Friendly helpful manager Comfortable bed Good wifi
Small room No lift- carrying heavy bags up a couple of flights of stairs
Location was very good
good staffs and good location good breakfast
Location, free adaptor for British plug, nice free breakfast
Breakfast hall too small, so had to wait in a queue in a narrow corridor. Very disappointing beginning of a day...
Straight in to the room no hassle
smallest English breakfast in Christendom.
Location. Clean room. Value for money.
The walls were thin and the slightest noise in other rooms could be heard.
excellent location and friendly staff.
room a bit dated and basic but that's expected. NO real issues as such.
One toilet and two showers for entire hotel, poor hygiene , basic and uncomfortable rooms
- Hotel in the very center of London.
- Very old-fashioned room - Dirty bathroom, looked like it have never been cleaned.
I always stay at MacDonald Hotel when in London. Nowhere else will you get a single room with breakfast (you can choose different things) & WiFi in the perfect location for that money (there are dreadful hostels which charge almost the same!). Rooms are not very pretty or large, but everything is spotless & cleaned every day for you, and you have all you need. The gentleman at the reception is very helpful too.
WiFi signal can be dodgy sometimes in the lower ground floor, but still ok.
the location. the freshly cooked breakfast.
I am 86 and do not walk well. I was given a room on the ground floor near the entrance and the breakfastroom so I had no problems with luggage.
My television was switched off at the socket so I had to get on a chair to put it on.
Hotel was within stumbling distance of King's cross. Polite and helpful staff. Cooked breakfast included in room rate. Clean and neat room. Great value for money. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
