Location convenient. Staff is friendly and helpful
Electric plug points faulty. Bathroom hot water flow not so consistent
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was quite small but warm and comfortable and we were able to have room service as it was too late for the restaurant. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet despite being at the top of The promenade.
Nothing about it that we didn't like.
The room was very nice but very cold, we could not get the heating to work. We had. No hot water at all until the next morning when we were due to leave. Not good for a prime location hotel. Will not be returning anytime.
The bed was very comfy. The location was ideal for what we wanted central to everything, i.e. shops and bars.
The room was very dark and dingy. The toilet fan went off all night. I have 2 very young children that don't sleep and I was hoping our stay would consist of a very good nights sleep I don't usually complain but this spoilt it for me. The bathroom needs a really good clean. I ran a bath (again a treat for a mother of 2 young children) there was orange residue all around the bath it was filthy I soon got out as it vile. This was in room 324. Very disappointing - it was a massive treat my partner and I to have some time away together we haven't had the chance for years and the room ruined it - I hope to hear back from you on my feedback.
Warm and comfortable
Rooms need a makeover, poor shower
Location to shops
Christmas party being held at hotel so couldn't use bar and was forced to sit in a small bedroom listening to thumping of disco till late at night. I did phone hotel two days before our arrival to confirm booking nothing was mentioned about the party. Completely spoilt my wife's birthday break away.
Staff very rude (in particular welcome from receptionist) Hotel very tired Poor decor Uncomfy bed Very cold (heating temperamental) Total rip off for what this hotel is
Can't fault the fantastic location and historic building.
The room was tired, car
Position. Bathroom fittings were good. .
Staff inexperienced and sullen on reception. Room noisy with constant humming all the time from within the hotel. Breakfast too expensive. Room very small, wallpaper peeling.
large high ceilinged spacious room
unfortunately our visit coincided with Christmas office party night, very noisy disco and people inside and outside. made it difficult to sleep.
Amazing location!!! Wonderful building!! I 've been visiting and now staying at the hotel for over 20 years. It's how own by Mercure chain which has now made the Queens excellent value, compare to other hotels in the area, and in my opinion has still kept most of its original appearance and standards.
Let's keep it simple you will not find better in Cheltenham.
The position was spot on and we didn't need our car . The car parking was good. The room was very cosy and reasonably spacious and there was plenty of hot water for baths/showers. The hotel itself was interesting as a Grade 2 building with it's wonderful staircase and ancient wallpaper.
We decided that at £15 per head, breakfast was rather expensive when we only needed cereals and toast.
Staff were fab in particular the chef at breakfast, went out of his way to check we were happy and make extra food. All staff we meet very pleasant and helpful.
Very noisy rooms, could hear clearly the people above walking around.. In one bedroom whe. The people above took a shower it sounded like water was pouring into the room. No sound proofing. 2 out of 3 of our rooms the tvs didn't work. To be fair we didn't report them as broken as we weren't there for the tv.
Restaurant and staff there very good.
Room very small , not quite what I expected for the rate. Unaware of having to pay a daily rate for the car park
Poor bed - old and sagging/soft
Some staff and they have some bad bad rooms. Probably the old ones.
the bedding or lack of sheets! the cleaners did not empty and wash glasses or cups!
Location was great. Parking was onsite and even being Cheltenham Race week available!
I booked 5 x doubles 3 of those were over the area that the disco played in until 2am making it impossible to sleep. One room had no hot water (or even tepid water) complained on 2 occasions and was eventually sorted for our 2nd day there.
Location for centre of a lovely town. Nice interior and public areas. Brassiere Blanc next door. Also 2 Michelin Star within 10 mins walk!
Room was normal size but left letter to Manager with 7 things needing attention. Should have been spotted by any competent Housekeeper. So sad. Beware the mattress in room 325, like a waterbed, unless you like such things!
Location, public space. Staff.
Cramped room overlooking refuse collection area and dilapidated rear of houses. Too much furniture crammed into the room. Only 2 breakfast tea bags. Only 2 tissues, those were pushed to the top of the tissue box. Cheap. Dismal breakfast. Ordered 2 poached eggs with bacon. The eggs were overcooked and the toast wes so soggy from the poaching water. No effort had been made to srain the eggs in a slotted spoon etc. The bacon looked and tasted like it had been sitting in a chafing dish for several hours. Complained to our lovely waitress who offered to return the plates to "Chef". Her kind offer was declined as we were in a hurry. Memorably shocking meal
Cleanliness and decor of hotel and friendly staff
Unable to regulate heating in the bedroom after holding on for 5mins phoning reception with no answer I walked down to speak to the receptionist she agreed with me that it was extremely warm and was trying to contact the duty manager the heating went off after a couple of hours. The following evening same story had to sleep with the window open v v noisey what a shame totally ruined our stay!
Breakfast was good.
Funny smell in the room, musty ? Rooms were a bit dated
Staff location The hotel was a little tired but that was minor
Excellent position in town. Parking available.
A little street noise to the front of the building at night but not unexpected in a Regency building.
The hotel has quite good facilities and the staff are indeed very nice.My room is very nice and clean.
There is no slippers nor toothbrushes in the room, which I think it is quite strange for a good-quality hotel. And if you require room meal service, you would be charged 5 pounds whatever but they do not mention it on booking. Also, the meal service is so slowly that I nearly waited for 40 minutes for my burger and noodles.
