No remote for TV , no kettle, hot room , creaky floorboards, cracked tiles and hand basin in bathroom , noisey road
Loose floor board, had to duck in shower as shower head was too low. Pictures different to room received.
Location was good and staff were very good.
Uncomfortable bed, tired worn furniture, small and dusty bedroom, badly finished bathroom. Generally substandard infrastructure.
I had booked a classic room with a queen size bed. I checked in and found two single beds simply just pushed together complained to staff at reception which didn't seem interested after this I went back to room and started unpacking then came a cross a pizza box which had been there for a week and then there's the heating which you cannot adjust so sleeping with window open with all the noise of the outside. And then on checkout I had another let down as I had to pay parking which i was told it was free not a good hotel at all in my opinion
Location and cheerful staff
For the price, the room was small and the plumbing was erratic. There are other hotels in the centre of Cheltenham with larger and more modern rooms for half the price
reception, bar and restauarant
Freezing shower, cobwebs at the windows, curtains torn, cold room on arrival, peeling paint on bath. Shabby decor throughout. Not 4*
reception, bar and restaurant
being woken up at 6am by scaffold being removed and the room being very small
The hotel is a beautiful time piece. The decor and style are very true to the Regent style Cheltenham is known for.
You have to re-sign up to wifi every 24 hours. Workers on my balcony in the morning; can it not wait until after I've left for work at 830?
Michael the porter was lovely a credit to the hotel. Staff on arrival were lovely.....until I complained about the workmen literally outside our room, dragging scaffold planks and poles, all afternoon and then start work again at 8am the following morning. IF I knew the hotel was undergoing work we wouldn't of stayed. What a waste of £230 and ruined our birthday weekend away. Also housecleaning knocked the door to clean our room at 9am..!?! Surely the staff talk to one another to see what guests have checked out. (this was a minor point, but already wound up about the workmen, this didn't help..!).
Rooms are dusty, hairs in the bathroom, dust in the headboards, broken handles on furniture, curtain pelmets falling down, breakfast room very tired, cobwebs, generally looks dirty. Overall not impressed for the money. Such a shame as the hotel could do so much better. Disappointed.
Front desk staff brilliant
Beds far too soft Couldn't connect ipad to wifi
The location was ideal for shopping, sightseeing and taking advantage of the cafe culture
We had asked for a deluxe queen room, which ended up being 2 singles push together. I had to return my prawn linguine as it wasn't cooked. I object to having to pay for carparking as a guest in a, not cheap, hotel.
nice big room, plenty of parking spaces. hotel near shops.
lack of t bags
Best location at top of Promenade Beautiful building Polite staff Decent Room B&B in double for £100/night
Not a lot . Maybe the fired eggs at breakfast could be cooked to order !
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff. Overall lovely hotel.
Friendly staff, good location.
Hotel was very overpriced for a bog-standard room. Was not what was shown in photos in website, which was very misleading. Had to pay £10 on top of £130 to park. Left the same night. Room service was distinctly average!
Nothing at all
room was cold heating system was not enough to heat the room no mini bar option no water in the room no sewing kit or option to buy room cleaned only after several request by 2-3pm only
Room was dirty from building work and hot water was only luke warm. Was reported and although room was cleaned no real appology
the Rooms need upgrading in design and furniture
Service was good.
Room could of done with new carpets and a fresh lick of pain. Room was cold and had to get a electric fan as radiator didn't work.
Food and drink service and staff excellent.
TOO HOT and Stuffy. Mould around bath. No shower pressure
The staff were excellent and room was very comfy. Hotel well situated and convenient for shops and restaurants.
The bar was very noisy and crowded.
