The location is excellent, 6 mins from warwick, close to stratford and the A429 to take you into the cotswolds. A very attractive property with an artistic flair, lovely host who cooks a stylish breakfast of high quality, our room overlooking the garden was charming, the weather was glorious and would recomend to good people to stay here. A peaceful village but so near many places of interest.
Superbly comfortable homely atmosphere. Sue made us feel part of her family!
The lady of the house did everything in her power to make sure we would feel welcome and the B&B has a warm, cosy feeling to it. Great restaurant just down the block.
Sue, the Owner very helpful. She made me some of her Mother`s recipe cough medicine as I had a troublesome cough Lovely home cooking, smell of baking bread every morning with home made marmalade Large comfortable bed Interesting furniture and artifacts and garden
to continue the shower head fell off Clearly breaking health and safety rules no fire extinguisher wiring needs checking etc et
The owner's dedicated care of an interesting and old property!
Location and the quirky individual style of the rooms. Friendly and helpful owner
Lovely breakfast, nice rooms, The relaxed atmosphere, the location, close to Warwick & Stratford Upon Avon, the Joseph Arch public house & restaurant over the road.
Sue was great but she need help in maintaining this property.
Needs some tlc
The fantastic setting and history of the accommodation, the friendliness of Sue the owner and a lovely breakfast with warm home made bread straight from the oven.
Historic house stunningly renovated, with real artistic style. The owner, Susan, is extremely nice and makes a great breakfast which varies from day to day (we had blueberry pancakes our first morning, then scrambled eggs with bacon the next - along with her fabulous home-made orange marmelade on home-made bread!). Barford, where the B&B is, is a very short drive from Warwick and is itself a lovely village. We look forward to our next visit!
The only parking available is on a very narrow street in front of the property. The bedroom is situated upstairs via a narrow staircase and is small & cramped with only a double bed. The tiny ensuite bathroom has a very low ceiling & my partner kept knocking his head. The breakfast offering is limited, when my partner requested fried eggs he received scrambled, when I requested toast the hostess advised that my bread was fresh & shouldn't require toasting but then grudgingly toasted it. I am sure that there are other B&B's in the area that are more conducive to a relaxing stay
Sue was very friendly and helpful. We'd had a long journey and she made us a cup of tea and biscuits as soon as we arrived. The property was very unusual and a bit quirky but also very interesting and it felt like Sue was welcoming us into her own living space. Breakfast time was flexile to suit us.It was an ideal stop over on our way to Bournemouth.
Not really anything to dislike other than having to sit with other guests for breakfast which was ok but other people may not like this as you feel like having to make polite converstion first thing in the morning!
Really interesting place to stay. Beautiful house & garden with a wealth of interesting & unusual features. If you like the 'standard' b&b set up this may not be for you but we had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend it to friends.
We liked the interesting house
The sour milk
Good view in the garden, good breakfast, and great restaurant and attractions recommended by B&B
The cottage was beautiful with an interesting history. The owner was a friendly person who readily provided information about the surrounding area. Very welcoming. The room was charming and the finishings were very high quality. The homemade bread for breakfast was lovely.
Everything was perfect for there was nothing negative to say.
Idiosyncratic, unique and quintessentially English. A special quiet place for sensitive and caring people…….. who like to restore and replete themselves. Fine antique linens are used throughout which are lovingly laundered and ironed by the owner. Thus ensuring you of a delightful night's sleep. In the morning your breakfast table is laid out with at least two fine cloths, fine china and fayre to match. The entire ambiance is that of tranquility and a gentle stroll around the garden further reinforces the peace of this very special place.
That it was different from your average B&B ! Has some much character & history.
Tea & coffee were provided however I think it would be nice to have it in the room. Beautiful wet room but needed a small screen to protect floor from being slippery by the door way.
The owner sue was a delight. The breakfast was original and cooked to perfection, you could tell food was a passion. Accommodation was with character, the linen was what my mother would have called a labor of love, beautiful. Felt at home and very well looked after.
My friend snoring and me with no ear plugs.
There was a relaxed friendly atmosphere in a place a great beauty. Clearly much thought had been paid to every detail.
The bathroom was not perfectly clean as I would have liked.
Nothing to not like!
Everything, it was more and better than we expected, very quaint and arty. With Sue being the perfect hostess.
no toilet roles provided!
Breakfast and enclosed courtyard
The description of "Hotel", to us, was a misrepresentation of what the property was; which was a very acceptable Bed & Breakfast property. Bathroom and bedroom a little cramped.
