Breakfast - Quantity but not quality! Sainsbury value muesli bars and value sausages! They were revolting! The menu stated free range eggs (not) and Lorne sausage, didn't have any - apparently the English don't like it!?! We were very disappointed, my husband had black pudding but it was so greasy. I cannot abide sachets of tomato/brown sauce or individual butter pats, reminds me of a greasy cafe, plus the individual pots of 'clear' honey had crystalised to sugar! The breakfast was served nicely with a strawberry (didn't quite get that!) but the quality was definitely below par for the price we paid. With all the wonderful local produce in Scotland it was very disappointing to be served a supermarket breakfast.
The room, even though we didn't have a sea view, was lovely. Very clean, big comfy bed, couple of easy chairs, good shower and bathroom, tea/coffee facilities, iron, hairdryer, toiletries etc, all what you would expect for the price paid. Good location overlooking Oban harbour and about 10-15 minutes walk to centre of town. Plenty of parking. No lift to 2nd floor and two flights of stairs. The lady who served breakfast was very nice, wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of the owner though!
