everything I made a mistake in my booking and they were very accommodating in changing it around, they were friendly and just made the whole stay lovely
Food was good pub fare. Beer was very good.
Room was absolutely freezing on arrival with radiator clearly not working. Reaction on complaining about this was that we had not given it long enough to heat up. Possibly so, if we were prepared to wait until next June!
The resturant and bar (real ale)
On a busy road so traffic noise may be a problem for some people despite the double glazing
Excellent value carvery.
Traffic noise as my room was nearest to the A52.
the hotel was very nice and cosy everything was there we needed and staff friendly and nothing was to much trouble.
Great value for a family room, warm and comfy pillows. Breakfast included. Excellent food and service for evening meal, good large portions Friendly staff, everyone helpful and asked if they could help in any other way. Would definitely stay again
Hard bed. Although included I found breakfast too greasy, but hubby and son loved it!
The staff were very welcoming & our room was comfy & clean. Breakfast was very good as was the beer. We will definitely use the hotel again for trips to Alton towers.
Large bedroom, good shower, friendly staff and pleasant breakfast. Good value.
In need of a general overhaul.
The staff were very friendly and the rooms were kept very clean.Lovely breakfast and good variety of evening meals.
The hotel is a bit run down and could do with decorating through out.
Loved the food
The building needs some tlc (decorating and updating)
Food was excellent, staff very helpful
Room was filthy, bathroom was dirty bed linen was stained and ripped
Staff excellent. Food superb value for money. Room large and comfortable able
Rather tired looking. Could do with a makeover
On entering building paint peeling off place looked gloomy, then our bedroom although relatively clean looked dark with paint off in bathroom marks on walls. Leaves a lot to be desired
Location Breakfast Space
Toilet continually dripping Ivy plant growing from outside in to room(Room 5)
ease of checking in.
bed was not made still inprint from where i sat putting my shoes on,carpet not hovered while there in our room, cups not washed in room or wiped down where making tea in room, hotel in need of refurb, as paper coming of ceiling, dirty carpets & well warn. nobody to ask for directions on sunday morning as they were having a meeting 10am, girl on reception said nobody was available. the worst place we have stayed at
Very helpful staff who accommodated an earlier breakfast so that I could checkout, thank you very much. Room clean and comfortable
Door lock handles were a bit tricky
Staff on arrival plus room not very clean bath room needs up date plus decor through out hotel carpets all needs a refub as the place seems busy all the time prob not got time to do this marston should be ashamed of this hotel ???? Rating is way out.
We found the hotel easily enough traveling from Thirsk, N. Yorkshire. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent value for money.
the hotel is very tired, it needs an update, but then I assume that this would also increase the prices.
Very pleasant staff and excellent location for Alton Towers.
Very dirty hotel, all the way from the hundreds of dead flies in the entrance glass ceiling to the dusty and filthy everything else. Come on give the place a hoover up and a spot of filler and paint!
The bedroom was comfortable and the accommodation spacious with a separate sitting area which was unexpected. The breakfast was good too. It was good value for money. We had an attentive and friendly welcome.
The sitting room area of our room was in need of redecoration but I am sure the management is very aware of this.
The room was nice and the breakfast was lovely
the fact that when the fire alarm went off staff did nothing. Obviously if this was a real fire visitors would have been in trouble. We had evacuated but no one said anything when we got out as all staff were still inside. Just glad we were dressed
breakfast was very good, beds linen and towels were exellent
the sash window was broken, and needed a piece of wood to hold it open, carpet were shaby, the paint work throughout is in need of attention, overall the hotel was looking very tired
Friendly staff, great value for money Near Alton Towers.
If I did have some criticism it would be it could do with a bit of TLC
It stands in lovely grounds which are well maintained
The fusty smell in the room and things that were not finished properly needs a revamp
