Great location if you want to visit Shrewsbury, not far from the train station and quite central to everything. The food was absolutely fantastic, without a doubt some of the best meals I've had. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the room was very well dressed. I would definitely stay again.
The breakfasts were excellent
The room was large and excellent. Perfect location for walking downtown shrewsbury
Great town centre location, convenient parking (on a meter), nice touches in the room (such as cake and biscuits), interesting conversion of a listed building with wonky floors and timbered ceilings
An air conditioning fan outside on the roof belonging to an adjoining pub which disturbed me throughout the night
Top floor with no lift.
I had a room up in the top of the building that was well appointed and very comfortable. It was a bit of a climb but that is what you've got to expect with older buildings and that's half the fun anyway. The dining room and breakfast were good and the staff helpful and friendly.
Staff were really welcoming and helpful. Chef left lovely cakes in my room with some bottles of beer. Breakfast was fantastic. Good value for money.
Rooms are gorgeous with lovely comfortable beds. Location is great - right in the centre of town with parking 5 mins walk away. Staff are really friendly - gave us advice on where to eat and what to see. Overall perfect for a day and night in wonderful Shrewsbury.
No vegetarian option at breakfast
Style of Room Size of room Nice chefs homemade brownie and flapjack nice touch Breakfast lovely
Miserable staff on arrival Bed awful!!! Worst nights sleep we have ever had!!! Very noisy from road and conservatory
Room size, great size bathroom and lovely toiletries, central location, excellent food served in the evenings and breakfast - lovely cakes in room, and REAL milk in the fridge, generally very clean. Friendly staff.
Curtains did not fit the windows letting in a lot of light - even at night from the street lights. Very old building so windows do not fit and no secondary glazing so awake from the noise of the traffic from 6am. Small towels in the bathroom, and shower tiles a bit grotty. Fix these problems and will be a great place to stay!
Old world charm in the bedroom and clean modern-designed bathroom - what more could you ask? So much thought has gone into all the beautiful and arty details in the lovely quiet room. Nice tea and cakes left for me, and breakfast was fab. The staff are incredibly helpful, and the location in town central and great for sightseeing. I love this hotel!
Wifi code wasn't obvious room, but I was too tired to look thoroughly!
Quirky, old and modern at the same time. Really great if you are in your younger years. Very well run!
Quite a lot of noise until after midnight but only to be expected right in the centre of town.
Good welcome by the staff. Nice refreshment in the room. The breakfast was awesome.
The room was very hot; air condition would have been nice.
everything, especially the really friendly staff. The food was extremely good and filling, good job i only stayed the one night or i'm sure i would have put on half a stone.will definately come back again.many thanks to all the team working there i enjoyed my stay immensly.
Location & food quality.
No milk in fridge for tea/coffee, no treat although it said the chef had left one, the bathroom floor was a bit rickety. Slow to serve food I appreciate it was made from scratch but it does not take over 30mins for scrabled eggs on toast.
Friendly helpful staff fantastic food clean and comfortable
I didn't like leaving lol
Food superb Service excellent and friendly Good atmosphere Nice range of food and drink
A bit noisy at night due to having the windows open at night. But we live in a quiet area anyway. So dont let it put you off!!!
Excellent and attentive staff - lovely hotel. Thanks
Charming staff, excellent breakfast.
Parking difficult, noisy street although hardly their fault! In-bar live music too loud.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. We parked outside to check in and then moved car to local NCP carpark. Rooms were lovely. We ate in the restaurant a- everything was delicious.
Due to the central location it is quiet noisey at night with people leaving bars etc! We were in room 2 so also had to listen to the air con fan kicking in every few minutes. But we would go back there! It was a hot night so the windows were open.
A gem of a place in Shrewsbury.
Location , staff very good. Cooked breakfast very good.
Avoid Friday Saturday as could be very noisy. Would have liked yogurt and prepared fresh fruit at breakfast and a cafeteire of coffee rather than a cup.
No parking uncomfortable mattress No privacy (face to face with people in opposite building) Smoke managed to get into the room. Must come up from the smoking area.
Chef left some tasty cakes in my room with his compliments. Good location. Near the station, and the centre of town. Didn't eat there so can't comment on that but there were lots of very happy, young people dining there.
The room was really good, albeit overlooking the main road. It was clean & comfortable, the staff friendly & helpful. The food was really good. Overall a good experience.
