Location Staff Ambience
Some furniture ripped and not up to the good standard of room !! Towels off white and small.
The quirky, beamed room was lovely. Toiletries, bathrobes, real coffee, fresh milk in fridge and complimentary cake stand...what more can i say. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Would definately recommend.
The loud fan noise that occurred at various times during the night (possibly during the day as well, but didn't notice it then). Don't know whether it was an extractor fan, heating boiler or what, but it was loud enough to wake us. The plus's outweigh this though and would definately return.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff who went the extra mile. Nice atmosphere in the bar & restaurant.
No car park, would be helpful and a nice service to have valet parking. Small bath towels , no bath mat. Choice of herbal teas in room would add a nice touch.
Rustic comfortable room Comfortable bed Clean room and bathroom Good food and drinks Nice location
Noise at night, from the outside a/c unit, the bar below and the fortnightly open mic on a Tuesday. After the bar closed on one night the staff decided to put on loud music for themselves but turned it off after I asked. Great hotel only for the noise issues .
That when I booked online I was told the total price would include my breakfast. To which I had to pay for Seperatly
Room was lovely, bed was comfy and especially enjoyed the complementary cakes! Plenty of tea/ coffee etc - always a must. Location was excellent for shopping and just taking in the sights. Friendly staff, good food. Couldn't fault a thing.
The Hotel is Beautiful...full of character charm and right in the heart of the town centre
The only down fall no dedicated parking
the staff are excellent.. X
The location is perfect and the bar/restaurant with rooms above can be ideal. We've stayed here many times when it was Mad Jacks. There have been some improvements however some negatives also
No hot water on arrival. Poor service in the breakfast room, it took an hour and a half on the first morning and on the second even though we were the only guests an hour and no bacon. Surely with a supermarket on a nearby corner that could've been resolved. My wife wanted to go and buy her own! Standards have declined porterhouse I hope this helps you improve.
Stylish place with a nice mix of new and old. We had the biggest room with a lounge area a big bathroom but it was above the bar (see negative comment). Breakfast was very good.
Room was above the bar so it was impossible to sleep before 00.30. We had people pulling the door taking the wrong door while walking past to their rooms because they were to drunk.
Great location if you want to visit Shrewsbury, not far from the train station and quite central to everything. The food was absolutely fantastic, without a doubt some of the best meals I've had. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the room was very well dressed. I would definitely stay again.
The breakfasts were excellent
The room was large and excellent. Perfect location for walking downtown shrewsbury
Great town centre location, convenient parking (on a meter), nice touches in the room (such as cake and biscuits), interesting conversion of a listed building with wonky floors and timbered ceilings
An air conditioning fan outside on the roof belonging to an adjoining pub which disturbed me throughout the night
Nicely furnished rooms! Great breakfast!
Noisy extractor fan kept 'kicking' in all night!!
Top floor with no lift.
Staff nice and kind. Just a step below rooms there is a resturant and a pub. Room is well insonorized. Very good shower. Hotel is really in the center of Shrewsbury, perfect to visit the village.
Our room as a pavment that was slightly inclined in one direction that was "strange" to adapt ad the beginning. Bed was not that confortable. Pay attention about parking (no parking in the hotel) to avoid a potential fine!
I had a room up in the top of the building that was well appointed and very comfortable. It was a bit of a climb but that is what you've got to expect with older buildings and that's half the fun anyway. The dining room and breakfast were good and the staff helpful and friendly.
Staff were really welcoming and helpful. Chef left lovely cakes in my room with some bottles of beer. Breakfast was fantastic. Good value for money.
Rooms are gorgeous with lovely comfortable beds. Location is great - right in the centre of town with parking 5 mins walk away. Staff are really friendly - gave us advice on where to eat and what to see. Overall perfect for a day and night in wonderful Shrewsbury.
No vegetarian option at breakfast
Style of Room Size of room Nice chefs homemade brownie and flapjack nice touch Breakfast lovely
Miserable staff on arrival Bed awful!!! Worst nights sleep we have ever had!!! Very noisy from road and conservatory
Room size, great size bathroom and lovely toiletries, central location, excellent food served in the evenings and breakfast - lovely cakes in room, and REAL milk in the fridge, generally very clean. Friendly staff.
Curtains did not fit the windows letting in a lot of light - even at night from the street lights. Very old building so windows do not fit and no secondary glazing so awake from the noise of the traffic from 6am. Small towels in the bathroom, and shower tiles a bit grotty. Fix these problems and will be a great place to stay!
Old world charm in the bedroom and clean modern-designed bathroom - what more could you ask? So much thought has gone into all the beautiful and arty details in the lovely quiet room. Nice tea and cakes left for me, and breakfast was fab. The staff are incredibly helpful, and the location in town central and great for sightseeing. I love this hotel!
Wifi code wasn't obvious room, but I was too tired to look thoroughly!
Quirky, old and modern at the same time. Really great if you are in your younger years. Very well run!
Quite a lot of noise until after midnight but only to be expected right in the centre of town.
