Location near southbank is perfect. Room was nice and spacey.
Breakfast lady complaining about us arriving at 9.25 for breakfast. Just serve, or don't serve. Beds were fine but a bit too firm for us.
Lokation service of some of the staff.
The rate was much to high compare to the facilities in the hotel. It was like comming to a one star hotel. Some of the staff was not very serviceminded.
A very comfortable and convenient place to stay. We felt very relaxed at the Mad Hatter after a busy day around London. The bedroom was cleaned well with some thoughtful extras. We enjoyed breakfast. Just right.
Our twin room was extremely well furnished with everything you would need to ensure maximum comfort and an enjoyable stay. The ground floor is given over to a very tastefully designed bar and dining room decorated with relics, drawings and prints from the original hat factory - needles to say the food and ales on offer complimented the total package. The engraved glass work and the themed Mad Hatter ceiling in the dining room make the atmosphere complete. We shall return to this marvellous location to savour the experience again!
On arrival the third floor (top) was sweltering when we left the lift but the central heating is totally manageable to one's own choice and was no further inconvenience at all.
This hotel is very well located. Short walk to Big Ben, London Eye and Tower Bridge. Great spot as a launching point to all London adventures. Unique rooms with some small nods to Alice in Wonderland. The pub below serves excellent pub fare and well priced drinks.
At first the hotel was all that we had expected from prior reviews. (I'm sure this is a one-off instance.)However, there was one massive problem that weighs heavily for us in that we will probably not return to the Mad Hatter. Me and my wife were on our honeymoon and were enjoying our stay, when two days into the visit she noticed a few bites on her person. We initially chalked it up to a mosquito, but the next morning had significantly more bites. Fearing the worst and not wanting to lose sleep on our honeymoon, I asked the front desk if we could be moved to a different room. They gave me odd looks and mentioned 'that it is impossible that she has been bitten by anything and it must be her clothing causing the welts.' After 10 minutes of insisting politely to be moved and that it was certainly not her clothing, the front desk clerk (night shift) told me he could move us down the hall, but we would need to move again in two day’s time. He was very curt and took my key and gave me the key to the new room. Assuming that the new room would be clear for me to move, I opened the door to find a young lady watching TV inside. I was mortified and quickly shut the door. The night desk staff said it was an error in the system and that it should have been empty. He found us another room on a different floor. We quickly moved into that room, which was clear of other guests, but the decor was a bit shabby and not upkept. At this point, it was just a place to sleep. I checked in with the VERY pleasant and much more aware morning desk staff and she asked if everything was okay and informed us that we would not have to move and was curious as to why the night staff told us we would have to. Having a competent desk staff available that night would of resolved the problem much more efficiently.
The staff were friendly and the pub was great. Ok breakfast and quiet rooms. Alltogether we really enjoyed our stay.
Have to walk a few hundred meters to tube.
Location Staff Great pub
Bed was broken - only had three legs
the location and the fact it was clean warm and comfortable
price a little high
Food. Dreadful evening meal.
Pricey for the size of room. Because it's London, it justifies the cost?
A great location with 2 tube stations nearby and walking distance to many iconic places in London. Really tidy and clean and a pretty room with everything you can hope for. Bed was comfortable too.
Location is perfect. A quick walk across the bridge to Trafalgar Square, or just 4 minutes to the old vic or Tate modern. Underground nearby.
Just a little over-priced (due to the location)
Easy to find. Location good for access to all parts of London north and south of embankment. Very helpful staff - we left our bags there for most of the day when we checked out - no problem and allowed us a early check in. All the staff acknowledged you and spoke to you. Pub attached to Hotel.
Not nice view - room was at the back and overlooked brickwalls and a dump area. Was noisy due to area and we had the window open but we are in central london so cant help that plus it was Bonfire Night and there were probably more sirens going than normal.
beds "hat" theme clean and neat
Location and value
unpleasant smell from adjacent sewers
The room was furnished to a good quality,we were pleased to see a good selection of teas and coffee. The room was overlooking the main road, and the traffic noise did not disturb us.the sound proofing is good. The bar area was a nice change from a normal hotel, and served a good selection of beers. It was within easy walking distance to other local bars and a pleasent walk along side the river to the city
The bathroom needs a tidy up around the bottom of the sink and at the back of the toilet. The breakfast we thought was expensive at £11 for a continental, but there was a good choice.
Ability to walk just about everywhere. New restaurants, value for money. Would stay there again
Busy street, building site across the road
The location, ambiance, nice pub/restaurant, good food.
Cant think of anything.
size of room. friendly staff. central location,
traffic noise at times but not too invasive.
Excellent location for all activities, comfortable rooms. Worth considering as a short stay location.
I had asked for an allergy free pillow and was able to get it! Yea
I has asked for the room to be ready early since I was arriving early, but they overlooked the request. They did try to accommodate as quickly as possible to fix the situation, and they did.
Loved the interior of the place. Very funky "alice in wonderland" style design. Had a nice big comfortable bed, all the amenities including even plunger coffee in the rooms! Amazing service by the girl who assisted at the restaurant for breakfast.
Was a strong soap-like smell in the hotel entrance coming from the bathrooms located downstairs. Quite unpleasant, but ultimately nothing big. Price seemed high, but it may have just been because it's London prices.
Room, bathroom (huge), friendly staff
The lift bounced a little when walking in and out, bit really an issue but slight disconcerting :-)
