Beautiful location, lovely grounds. Handsome room, very friendly and helpful staff. Delightful building. We look forward to staying there again one day.

Plumbing in the bathroom was fallible, especially as regards flushing the toilet.

    Quite good building

Had to endure residents that had room above mine. Causing noise from 5,30am till after 7am. Building creaked constantly...poor

I know Maesmawr from having lived in the area many years ago. The location is excellent, far enough off a busy main road for there to be no traffic noise. Countryside location - wonderful. Staff from the manager to the man doing the gardening were so friendly and helpful. Food superb, and a very welcoming bar.

The fact that we could only stay one night.

Lovely old building with a large well kept garden. Very niece dinner and breakfast. The renovations so far are sympathetic to the age of the hotel.

In process of being renovated so room needed decorated and pretty small.

The food was excellent really tasty and a good serving of vegetables. Had free wi-fi which is great.

The room was not worth the money, the carpet was dirty in places and the pillows were hard as rock as was the duvet - would have expected better comfort. No saucers for the cups. No light near the mirror and the plug for the hairdryer was no where near the mirror. TV was small for the room. The bathroom needed updating and the shower had a split in the hose!. Was charging 5* prices for a 3* hotel

Smell of paint everywhere, so improvement in hand. Bar was pub prices and good beer selection. Cooked breakfast as good as other similar hotels.

Was given free room upgrade to main house, but room had tiny shower room, no place to work - not worth pre-upgrade price of £55 ( and hotel I used before in town, which was full, was 20% cheaper still). Bar closing time uncertain ( "when I'm ready") . All in all, ok but not as good as it aspires to be.
