This large country house has a pretty Victorian face, and dates back to the 15th century. Gregynog Hall is set in 750 acres of beautiful, formal gardens and countryside.

Situated in a lovely tranquil spot, a beautiful building in superb grounds. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Beautiful location, lovely grounds. Handsome room, very friendly and helpful staff. Delightful building. We look forward to staying there again one day.
Plumbing in the bathroom was fallible, especially as regards flushing the toilet.
Peace and quiet, good food, friendly staff and good service. A lovely stay in a hotel full of character and history.
Quite good building
Had to endure residents that had room above mine. Causing noise from 5,30am till after 7am. Building creaked constantly...poor
nice and quiet. Pleasant staff, food was very nice would recommend it
friendly staff.convienient location. peaceful.
shower didn't work. had tried at 6 o'clock in the morning and at 8 o'clock in the morning so it wasn't just a lot ofpeople using hot water which is what receptionist tried to say.
I know Maesmawr from having lived in the area many years ago. The location is excellent, far enough off a busy main road for there to be no traffic noise. Countryside location - wonderful. Staff from the manager to the man doing the gardening were so friendly and helpful. Food superb, and a very welcoming bar.
The fact that we could only stay one night.
All staff very friendly. Food fantastic
Staff were good and friendly
Poor WiFi connection and very slow.
Great setting. Enjoyed a great bar meal sat in the gardens. Staff were very helpful
Lovely old building with a large well kept garden. Very niece dinner and breakfast. The renovations so far are sympathetic to the age of the hotel.
In process of being renovated so room needed decorated and pretty small.
We had room in coach house Wow it was out of this world
the whole hotel, the location, lovely welcome. excellent friendly staff. amazingly good breakfast especially the porridge. crisp starched table linen. great sunday lunch. clean, tidy. comfortable. beautifully kept grounds with garden furniture, excellent service all round. look forward to the coach house refurb, will be back. thank you.
unavoidable i know, but not keen on uht milk with tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom A very minor personal dislike.
The food was excellent really tasty and a good serving of vegetables. Had free wi-fi which is great.
The room was not worth the money, the carpet was dirty in places and the pillows were hard as rock as was the duvet - would have expected better comfort. No saucers for the cups. No light near the mirror and the plug for the hairdryer was no where near the mirror. TV was small for the room. The bathroom needed updating and the shower had a split in the hose!. Was charging 5* prices for a 3* hotel
A beautiful hotel and grounds with staff who were very helpful and friendly.
Smell of paint everywhere, so improvement in hand. Bar was pub prices and good beer selection. Cooked breakfast as good as other similar hotels.
Was given free room upgrade to main house, but room had tiny shower room, no place to work - not worth pre-upgrade price of £55 ( and hotel I used before in town, which was full, was 20% cheaper still). Bar closing time uncertain ( "when I'm ready") . All in all, ok but not as good as it aspires to be.
Friendly staff excellant Breakfast beautiful surroundings Interesting history
Superb building and style
Great stay, ideal location, friendly staff and food outstanding
Amazing hotel Food was delicious Grounds were pretty Staff were really pleasant

Poor wifi service Dated bedrooms (some) - although they have refurbishment programme in place
Relaxed atmosphere in tranquil surroundings and lovely grounds.
All the staff were helpful and welcoming. The location was superb and the ambience, peaceful.
Refurbishment is still ongoing and our room was small and in need of decoration.
