The hotel was excellent with staff to match. Neil the duty manager was attentive and professional at all times. The food at both dinner and breakfast was superb and plentiful. My room was very clean with a large bathroom ensuite. Great location, would I stay there again? Yes in a heart beat! Nothing

Staff service and attention to detail was excellent. Food was hot and cooked well. Breakfast choices were wide ranging with an option to order non-menu items. Although the room was dated and not yet refurbished it was clean and comfortable. Can't think of anything.

This is a very olde worlde Tudor timbered building with loads of character in a beautiful country setting. The very old door into our bedroom was about 5ft high, I am 6ft 3in but this only added to the interest and the on suite room itself was clean, spacious and comfortable with nice views from the windows. Had a great nights sleep and the food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced as was our stay. The staff were all friendly and helpful. This hotel was once a family home and according to some of the literature in our room the upgrade to a top notch business was on-going. Clearly an awful lot of renovation/upgrade work had already taken place but the owners did have a little way to go to finish off their massive project. The charm and character of the building, up to now, has been retained.

Very comfy beds, service and food was fantastic. That they didn't except American Express if they have a lot of people for business which I was told they did I was surprised they didn't except the card and because of this we can't stay here again.

Beautiful 15th century building. Small and cosy. You walk into cosy lounge with roaring fire, lovely! Staff so helpful, polite and friendly. Lovely afternoon tea/sandwiches/soups. lovely meals/breakfast. If you like small and cosy, this is the place. Beautiful grounds/views and 5mins from Newtown by car. Really lovely place to relax and would return. I was in main building, there are seperate quarters in the grounds. Nothing not to like! unless you are afraid of ghosts!! one of the rooms is said to be haunted.

Very professional and friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble. Relaxing, comfortable lounge with roaring log fire. Good food, reasonably priced. Unfortunately, we were in one of the rooms that had not been refurbished. We were shown a room that had been, and the standard was excellent.

Beautiful old hotel, full of character. Our room in the main house was lovely and we were made to feel really welcome. Beautiful roaring fire in the bar, very cosy. We only stayed for one night on a Sunday. The restaurant had a lovely feel and had crisp linen table cloths and napkins which is always a good sign. The roast meal was very tasty and very welcome after a tiring day. Everything was good.

Everything! When we go somewhere new, one of our shared jokes is "... and they'll have Leffe on draft" - which is, of course, unlikely. But they did!! Not being able to stay longer...

A splendid hotel, full of olde worlde character. We could have sat by the log fire all night. Food was excellent with plenty of choice on the menu. Could not fault the staff. An excellent hub for exploring a number of interesting places eg., Chester. It was January, my wife found the room a little cold upon arrival. However, my wife would find it cold at the equator.
