We were received and treated excellently. We are more than happy to recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the area. The romm we stayed in and the breakfast was exceptional. I would rank it very highly indeed.

We booked the hotel on a "deal of the day" for a trip to the local theatre and couldn't have had a friendlier welcome or better appointed room ... brilliant breakfast on a lovely spring morning ... great!

It is a lovely old country house. We stayed in the Coach House which was comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The Shower was not the best bit slow and took time to get right temperature. The breakfast was very good value and the service was excellent. All in all a very enjoyable stay. It was nice to sit in the breakfast room and watch the birds on the lawn whilst having your breakfast. As mentioned above the shower was not very good.

Our second visit. The staff are outstanding - they couldn't be more welcoming, friendly and helpful, especially the proprietors. The food is good, the breakfast generous (the bacon is the best I've tasted since our previous visit!) and our room was large, bright and comfortable. The location is lovely and the ambience is informal. The hotel is gradually being refurbished but retains its traditional character. A very pleasant stay. We will be going back.

The stay at Maesmawr was just wonderful and we plan to go back soon! Our bedroom was within the original Tuder building and had large original oak beams everywhere. All staff were so friendly and we felt at home from the minute we arrived to the time we left. They can even prepare you a picnic lunch to take with you if you enjoy walking like us. Fantastic all round and a hidden gem! Nothing at all, everything was just perfect!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room (a recently refurbished Coach House suite) was absolutely beautiful and finished to a very high standard. Being a stone's throw from the main building we had everything available to us but had total privacy at the same time. With a refurbishment programme continuing this hotel can only get better and better. The location of the hotel was excellent with beautiful views all around. A fabulous find! Not really a dislike but our only negative comment would be the cost of our main meals which neither of us felt were quite worth the £15+ each we paid.

Beautiful, unspoiled old black and white timbered building at the end of a long driveway. Quiet and secluded but not too far from the nearby town. Coast, mountains and villages all accessible. Excellent service, good, well-presented food. Comfortable, very spacious room (except for bed, see below). The bed tilted sideways because the floor sloped (an old building). This was uncomfortable. The bed needs turning round so that it slopes from head to foot, downwards, not side to side. Gloomy lighting in the dining room, cheerless.

Nice location, good food, friendly and helpful staff, free wi-fi. Nothing really, good place to stay. Had some problems with TV reception, and wi-fi not fast enough to stream TV, but staff keen to resolve problem.

The single most pleasant feature of the visit was the service provided by the young man who looked after us at the bar and during meal times. He was attentive and very courteous and his whole approach was a credit to the hotel.
