The restaurant was very good: food and service of quality. The coach house room I stayed in was no where near as comfortable, or the bathroom as suitable for a guest's needs, as the pub I'd stayed in for half the price on the night before. |

It was a comfortable hotel and being well away from the road had the added benefit of being quiet. The en-suite bathroom could do with upgrading but I believe that this process is gradually being implemented |

Driving down the tree lined private approach road you cannot fail to be impressed by your first sight of the hotel. It is fairy tale like, genuinely olde worlde. Inside is just as good, cosy bar, proper fire, and creaky staircase. Very friendly staff and clean comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent, one of the best I've had. I can recommend this hotel. |

There's a cosy room with a fireplace to spend the evening in. Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and professional. If you like a hotel to breathe an authentic athmosphere (incl. creaky floors and midget doors) you'll like this place. |

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast menu was good and the food was of a high standard. The setting for the hotel was lovely. My room was in the annex. I arrived early evening and the room was cool with no heating on. The furniture was shabby, old and stained and the bed uncomfortable. The shower over the bath did not work properly and there was a risk of being scolded. However, the linen was spotless. The radiator in the bathroom did not come on in the morning but the one in the bedroom did. The hostess tray on the wall was too small and it was difficult to access the kettle easily due to the way it was positioned. However, I must emphasize that the staff were lovely, and the dining facilities of a high standard. For this reason I would consider using the hotel again. However, Ii I stayed again I would like to see the standard of the rooms in main hotel. |

Staff were very friendly and the Welsh breakfast was excellent! Public areas were gorgeous - full of period features, very comfortable and welcoming. The current owners haven't been there very long and are undertaking a much needed refurbishment (mainly to get rid of all the woodchip wallpaper!). However, our room was very clean and comfortable and with the proposed refurbishments will be even better in future. |

Very nice hotel with lots of history standing in well kept country grounds yet near to Newtown. Excellent food and a good range of drinks good place to relax after a days work. Carpet in bathroom was damp and had a bad smell. Carpet in bathrooms is never a good thing and this is the only thing that prevents me awarding excellent for cleanliness and comfort. This also makes it hard to say its good value for money. |

Service on all fronts was superb! Comfortable and clean rooms with all the necessary trimmings. Restaurant food (drinks, dinner snacks and breakfast) was delicious. The hotel is full of tradition and the atmosphere is quaint and inviting throughout. It is really an opportunity to experience something different, where you step back to a time of luxury and opulence, this is a beautiful setting where the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The new owners are doing a wonderful job. I would not hesitate to recommend or revisit this establishment. |
