1 min from the beach....excellent room.....fantastic breakfast.....didn't need to eat for the rest of the day..... and we didn't arrive till late.... highly recommend will be back.
The bed and the fact the the owner was able to accommodate me arriving three hours later than I originally planned. Check out time is flexible which is a bonus.
I wasn't really given a choice about what to eat for breakfast as the other residents were vegetarian and it was apparent that different menus would be inconvenient.
I liked the house and the Hostess. She's very helpful and kind and in some (good) ways a Little bit Victorian herself.
I can't believe that no one mentioned the lack of TV in the whole house before. Not that I want to watch at all, but I like to have the choice and I think it's worth mentioning because it's below any of todays Standards. A shared bathroom was in the description but not really up to anything we expect today.
Sue and her daughter are superb hosts, nothing was too much trouble.
Sue has attention to detail in her home from the décor to her fabulous breakfast and she is utterly charming. It is a must if staying in St Leonards
Sue was welcoming and couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was fabulous, breakfast was never ending with lovely touches of smoked salmon, full English and lovely cheeses, would definately stay again
A wonderful relaxing getaway, The house is decorated beautifully, with a subtle sea scape colour palette which has a lovely vintage feel, with a light airy and calming effect. The bedroom was clean bright and comfortable with no awful gadgets to ruin your relaxation. This house has been renovated with such love and it really shows. There are so many special touches to look at, that our 3 day stay just wasn't long enough. Our host Sue was brilliant in every way, from her local knowledge to her amazing breakfasts. Sue, her daughter Sadie and the dog Cara, made us feel really welcome. I cannot recommend Maison No.5 highly enough, I can't wait to return
We had a wonderful stay here, our bedroom was beautiful and very large with sea views. There was everything we needed and more. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious and set in a lovely dining room. Would definitely recommend this to friends and family
Lovely owner, who had great knowledge of local history. So near the seafront / St Leonard's West ! Bedroom Decor very peaceful
The room didn't have an ensuite but maybe that was reflected in the price ? I thought the breakfast bacon could have perhaps been of higher quality. These quibbles are very minor. A lovely quiet and relaxing place to stay
Great friendly environment, Sue was very welcoming and really went out of her way to ensure our stay was perfect. Can't wait to come back.
Breakfast, welcome, bed,bathroom
Local area, slightly expensive
Excellent location close to the sea and in a very interesting area of St. Leonards. Parking was easy and allowed us time to explore the local area. Superb house with stylish decor. Sue has a beautiful home that she is happy to share with her guests. Really lovely host who is a very interesting person but also sensitive to the needs of her guests. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bed linen and towels of high quality. Breakfast was superb - fresh fruit, muesli etc with hot food cooked to order. We could not have asked for more and plan to return.
Leaving! We could have stayed forever!
We went on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Sue cooked brilliant breakfasts and was so kind and helpful and added extra touches that were special to our honeymoon. Sue went out of her way to make our stay unique. We enjoyed meeting Cara Sue's dog who was lovely and so well behaved. Would definitely go back.
I loved this place. What did I like, everything, the food, the decor, the owner Sue is a delight and you are royally looked after, nothing was to much trouble and Sue is full of local knowledge and history of the area. Would / will recommend to anyone going St Leonards way.
Nothing to dislike
Beautiful house decorated in soothing neutral colours. Host gave a very personal yet discreet service and was very flexible in accommodating our wishes.
Nothing to say for this visit. Would definitely book to stay again.
The kindness and friendliness of the proprietor. Nothing was too much trouble. For anybody who wants personal service and home from home ideal place to stay.
The room despite being advertised as being en suite was in fact a shared bathroom.
Great location, great beds, great breakfast. Friendly owner, cat and dog!
This is a beautifully furnished house, perfectly situated just set back from the sea front so it was very quiet but we had a lovely view of the sea from the bedroom. We wanted to re charge our batteries with a night away and this was the perfect place. The hostess was extremely accommodating and presented a super breakfast in the elegant dining room. The house reflects the quirkiness and elegance of St Leonards as a great seaside bolthole which is still relatively undiscovered...
this not a 'dislike' merely a suggestion - it would be good to have some local info like what's on/ some café,restaurants leaflets etc in the room. We know the area but some people might find it useful to have some info...
charmingly renovated terrace house located in close walking distance to the beach, very comfortable bed and even bathing robes were provided. Sue cooks a wonderful breakfast to order every morning; we also enjoyed the company of Erol, the cat and Cara, the dog.
Very warm welcome, helpful could not ask for more really
Beautiful room and very comfortable bed.
Such a peaceful well designed and decorated place to stay. Sue and Cara the dog are wonderful hosts, will return for sure, highly recommend this one with the beach a stones throw and wonderful shops on Norman Road just 2 minutes walk. Easy to get to from Warrior Square train station.
