Maitlandfield House Hotel  

I had the "superior garden room", but it was an exceptionally noise room as it was on the ground floor, and a wedding was taking place that night. I was moved upstairs the following night, and this room was nice and quiet. Facilities are nice but basic and worn.

Staff were friendly. Good location for town.

Very disappointed on arriving back at hotel at 10.30 pm on a Saturday night to find bar closed and no staff available to serve. Might as well have stayed in B&B. This despite literature saying bar open until 11.00 pm with residents lounge available after this.

The staff were very welcoming and had a personal touch. The comfort of the open fire and the fact that we had a table laid for three at breakfast made us feel very special.

The bathroom and shower could use modernising and the kettle in the room had only the capacity for one cup + only two small milks for three cups.

I was brought up in Haddington and left some 50 years ago and had knowledge of what was on offer. An excellent place to meet with old relatives and friends for a drink and/or a meal. The staff were extremely helpful with a special mention regarding Fiona who was the complete professional. Will advise my friends here in Australia who may visit Edinburgh that a visit to Maitlandfield should not be missed!

We were attending a wedding and were recommended to Maitlandfield House by Mother of the Bride. We found the hotel to be ideal for location, bed and breakfast and very near to Haddington town centre. We enjoyed our stay very much,

The Staff were extremely polite and helpful and the food was excellent. The Lounge and Bar areas were comfortable and suitable for our needs. We had an enjoyable stay although it was spoilt somewhat due to the smallness of the bedrooms.

The two rooms we occupied were very small, and the views out of the windows were non-existant due the rooms being above the Brasserie and Bar areas. We could only see the roof of these buildings. This, in my opinion, spoilt our stay. The front facade of the building looked 'tired' and was not a true reflection of the photo' on the website.

La position géographique à l'Est et proche d'Edimbourg pour la proximités de nombreux golfs réputés.

Personnel peu acceuillant, chambre petite, aucun confort.

Au moment de paye, je voulais payer avec mon American Express puisqu ils l acceptent, mais on m avertit gentillement que l hotel charge les 3-4% qu Amex demande en plus de ma facture si je paye de la sorte. Or ce n est pas au client mais a l hotel de prendre en charge ce sur cout puisque l hotel en question a signer un contrat avec l Amex et ce dernier doit respecter le reglement et accepter en particulier ce sur cout (je le sais puisque j en ai signe un avec eux).Heureusement, j avais des especes. C est tout simplement inacceptable.
