Lovely room, comfy bed, good (reasonably priced) food available in the hotel and a nearby italian restaurant, not to far to lots of good attractions! Would visit again as was great value for money :)
Window in room did not open for safety reasons (which I can understand-but could of had a latch etc for safety). Did have air con but would be nice to have fresh air too.
Good quality meal served in the evening. It was good value for money and well presented. The room was comfortable.
The height of the hanging rail in the wardrobe was inaccessible to anyone less than 6feet 7 inches and therefore was very dangerous to attempt to access hangers. Also the bathroom in our room was very small and there were no hand rails to steady with when getting out of the bath and again risky particularly for older people. Room cold even with controls turned up.
Room was still not ready after check in time despite us making it known that we had an event to attend and needed to be in the room as soon as possible
Well designed rooms
Leaking A/C. Cold shower on second day due to fire alarm going off early morning. Didn't hear anyone else complaining of cold shower
I've stayed here a few times due to location and cost. Overall The Maitrise is a pretty good, budget hotel with more of a boutique feel/style. Rooms are clean and efficient but small and can require some navigation depending on your needs/habits. WiFi is awful and sustaining a connection for even10 minutes while in room is usually impossible especially during peak hours. TV's are built into the wall and viewing can be a little restrictive depending what side of the bed yore on. TV's also have a volume restriction which can be a hindrance although not a major concern. Staff are amiable but could do better when it comes to customer service.

the room was cleaned everyday, towels changed. nice shower. tube close by, just around the corner. direct bus from Victoria station to the hotel, stops just in front of it.
breakfast not good, limited options.
Room size is small but all the facilities are there.
We were in one of the windowless 'dungeon' basement rooms and very dependent on the air conditioning system. We didn't notice until the morning that the ceiling vent was absolutely filthy and most likely almost blocked. Hardly healthy. We did bring this to attention of the morning staff on reception, but suspect nothing will have been done to correct the problem. You needed to be at least 7ft tall to reach and use the hanging rail in the room's wardrobe. Breakfast in the adjacent restaurant was OK but table clearing from previous users was slow and clearly disorganised. We would not be inclined to stay again.
Close to tube and overground station Friendly Staff
Room was small with no windows Tea and Coffee in the room wasn't restocked
we were given a room with no windows which was very unpleasant
pleasant lounge area, helpful staff except the waitress, good breakfast
hotel on busy street, no fresh air in rooms, bathroom had a terrible smell (sewage), waitress did not remove dirty plates after dinner, meals arrived one at a time.
Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean. 10 minutes away from Central London by tube. High park street is the nearest underground station, which is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Tesco express (grocery store) is just opposite to the hotel.
- Wifi was advertised as free but in fact was only available in public areas, which was still unbelievably slow. - Kettle was not working and I only had it replaced the next night after passing a request 4 times. - Refrigerator was not working. - Breakfast was not what I expected in a 4-star hotel and I actually had to request the waitress to refill the empty plates on the buffet table. - Housekeeping staff shocked me when she knocked the door to check if I was in the room and then ask me when will I leave!
Location Air Conditioning Breakfast
Size of bathrooms/toilet Quality and comfort of bed/mattress WiFi signal unreliable Towel quality Not enough staff at busy reception
Good breakfast Excellent shower
Windows did not open purfume in air conditioning was overpowering - OK when aircon off, but then room hot.
Great rooms, service was good
Breakfast was a bit all over the place, the greeter didnt explain anything just asked if you wanted tea or coffee. Unsure as to wether we couldve had a cooked breakfast as it was never offered. Not much choice on continental buffet.
Friendly staff, good standard of room and great breakfast
Location was good but I suggest to choice double bed room. Environment look was nice but small.
We book twin room and All the Twin room in the lower ground, room was wet and cold, I asked the blanket but reception said they don't have any blanket. I am so confuse why the room in lower ground was very nosiy, I always wake up at mind night. The smoke detector was alarm in the morning! I almost jump out of bed at the same time the alarm stopped. I very surprised no one check that room. When we check out the reception said we somke and took 100！that was nightmare I ever had! I will not come again!!
The decor, location, price and breakfast were all great
The room itself was so warm I couldn't sleep
The location was good, just a few minutes walk from the tube and a couple of nice restaurants close by that were within walking distance.
The room was very small and warm. The windows in the room didn't open and although it had aircon in the room it was still very warm. The bathroom was like a sauna, there must of been hot water pipes or something in the walls because they were hot to touch.
The room was fine and the bedding was nice and comfortable. The hotel manager was quite nice and did her best to accommodate us with what she was able to work with.
I did not like the guy that worked at the front desk, he was rude and seemed irritated with the request we made (that I had previously made online to have a roll away bed for our son). I was even more irritated when we were informed that the best they could do was give us a play pen that my son was too big for. If you cant sleep three people then please don't advertise that can. The bathroom door wouldn't shut properly so there was no privacy and the room was pretty small. As for the breakfast, it was ok, but my first cup of coffee was like 2 hrs old! Maybe communicate with the staff to change every once and a while (even if people haven't drank it). I picked a hotel like the best western because they are a big chain and figured that they'd give us the basics which was all we needed for the night. It worked out that proper bedding, privacy in the bathroom and hot coffee were what was missing.
The hotel was in a reasonable position for where I needed to be. The staff were quite friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good compared to other hotels I have been in. The bed was quite comfortable but also didn't seem that big. I asked for help with buses and the receptionist printed out a map etc, but didn't tell me that buses don't take money and that I needed to buy an oyster card before getting on the bus .. I thought I was going to be late for my course because this took extra time, which could have been done the night before.
The room was quite small, and the air conditioning very noisy, but the room was very warm, so it was difficult to sleep. The towels were small and thin! but there was shower gel. I had to ask for an iron but they were very quick to get it. The room was very basic and quite tired, but appeared to be clean and was adequate - I thought it was expensive for what you got, but then it is London.
Hotel was in a dodgy area
The location was excellent and the staff were very helpful and polite . The room decor was good and room cleaned daily with fresh clean towels and toiletries .
The room is too small. The fridge too small and did not cool . The bed sheets were not changed in over one week . The Internet was a disaster as it kept on cutting off every less than 4mins . The TV reception was faulty with breaking up reception/ vision. The was a permanent smell from the lift and corridor.
In London in summer aircon is vital for a comfortable night - in this hotel the aircon was easily up to the job on a 25c night - nice free breakfast too
Nothing really rooms aren't that large but fine really,
The hotel is in a good location. And its still quite new. I like thestorage under the bed. The receptionists are nice too
Housekeeping. Our sheets were never changed.
