Spacious room, pretty design of the room, nice food (not as expensive as I thought), restaurant staffs' friendliness, quite confortable bed Bit dark, no mini bar, time of serving dinner (restaurant stops serving at 9pm, it's a bit too early) |

The room was superb had 3 windows all facing out onto the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. The views were stunning and it was just the perfect place to stay as we were attending a wedding at Shottle Hall. |

Beautiful setting surrounded by lovely countryside and close to places such as Matlock and Ashbourne. Dinner was also excellent The customer service overall was poor - reception staff bordered on abrupt and we weren't even asked how our stay was when we checked out. Our room ran out of hot water and when we complained there was no apology and nobody did anything about it. The hotel is used for weddings and as a result our dinner was not served in the restaurant but in another room, making you feel like second class citizens. they need to do some serious work on customer service for their staff |

the hotel was stunning really classy easily the most beautiful hotel ive been to not only inside the grounds was breathe taking as well. hidden charges like my room was 138 for two nights but my card got declined when a bill of 278 i think was there and i was then assured this was for room service and so on but it wasnt advertised on my booking a rather embarassing moment for me infront of my girlfriend it was aventually sorted out.i also did expect air con in my room as its a 4 star hotel. |

The hotel is well located and the staff are obliging. The rooms are reasonably furnished. Management conspicuous by their absence at critical times. Restaurant service poor and food over priced. Rooms in the Courtyard Wing are dark and detached from the hotel. In general the hotel is overpriced and shows the problems associated with a business on the edge of financial failure |

Wonderful staff very friendly and helpful, always smiling and pleased to see you. Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Very relaxing and peaceful stay. The bar is totally inadequate and overpriced and the restaurant extortionate! - check out the King William 5 mins walk away at Milford or the Holly Bush 5 mins away at Makeney Village for a drink. Unfortunately nearest affordable food - Makeney Breakfast £13.95!! - at Duffield. |

Spotless room, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very accommodating and willing to please. I thought it was good value for money, we got a suite which was lovely and spacious, not sure if all rooms this size. There was a wedding on when we were there (we were not part of it), so sometimes it was hard to find staff, but they were very apologetic and gave us some drinks on the house as a result. Having said that we thought we were going to be in for a noisy night with the wedding guests but did not hear a thing which means they were very considerate guests, or the hotel as good insulation and keeps the functions away from the residential areas of the hotel. The slightly chaotic set up of the breakfast buffet. Self service but nowhere to put the lids to the food so you needed three hands to hold the lid, your plate and serve the food. But once we'd managed to work out a good system (go up in pairs), the quality of the food was excellent and the staff also got us fried eggs made to order as opposed to the scrambled which were on offer with the buffet |

The room was very nice and clean, and was set in a very nice environment. A wedding was taking place at the time, which meant most of the hotel was closed off. We ordered breakfast for the room which was not value for money at all. |

Beautiful scenery, nice location No family facilities, bar area very small, prices highly inflated with little or no choice. Stayed at the hotel with wedding party. |

nice building and location, staff were attentive, short distance walk to the 'pork pie pub', as well as short driving distance to lots of nice countryside. Yes the rate was discounted to £75.00 but nobody advised that there was a wedding on meaning there was restrictive access to areas of the hotel including the garden (pity because it was a sunny day). |

It is very quiet and the surrounding area beautiful. We didn't eat at the hotel but were advised by other guests that it would be recommended another time. We felt that the 75 pounds paid for the night (not including anything but the room) was appropriate. Apparently, the room should normally cost 160 pounds which we found incredible since, apart from the excellent surroundings, it was on par with most 'travel lodge' and 'premier hotels' we have experienced. We were able to get a late booking fee. |

The Lion Hotel is situated in the centre of one of Derbyshire's most historic towns - Belper. The hotel provides an extremely high level of comfort and service. |
Set in 5 acres of grounds overlooking Derwent Gorge, this Regency-style hotel has an indoor plunge pool with water from a natural thermal spring. The New Bath Hotel, a Brook Hotel, was built in 1802. |
Just off the A610, on the way into Ripley, the hotel offers great value, with free parking and spacious, modern air-conditioned rooms. |
