The Mallyan Spout is a 19th-century country house set within picturesque grounds with views out over the Esk valley. Just a short walk behind the hotel is Mallyan Spout waterfall. All of the modern, spacious rooms at The Mallyan Spout are decorated with private bathrooms and views of the hotel grounds, the village church, or the Esk Valley. All rooms also feature flat-screen TVs, hairdryers, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Dining at The Mallyan Spout is provided with fresh, locally-sourced produce and Whitby fish, served either in the dining room with its varied dining menu, or the more informal bar area. Three lounges with log fires are also available to relax in. The hotel is located within the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, with numerous opportunities for scenic walks in the surrounding countryside. Re-assuring that previous feedback and recommendations about this hotel were mainly spot on. It's a nice relaxing chill out location to wind down and re-charge. Weather was kind, and so makes the difference in appreciating the location. Maybe a bit expensive, but overall we think it was a price worth paying for a short break to experience and enjoy the surrounding area! Can't fault anything - you have to be seriously picky to critique the meals, stay or service. What more is there to say?!! Would we wish to go back? Most definitely.

The hotel is in a beautiful location with a large garden from which to appreciate its surroundings. The room was of a high standard, as were the service and food. The hotel was the perfect place for a relaxing stay.

Very cosy, log fires and comfy sofas in the lounge. Excellent service, friendly and helpful staff, who managed to make us feel like they had no one else to look after, even though the hotel was quite busy.

Everything! The Hotel looked even better in the flesh! We loved the location - the thunder and lightening on the night of our stay added even more to a very dramatic and dark landscape. The staff were fantastic. The Chef ensured that my gluten free diet was met and even tweaked a sauce so that I could have the dish I wanted from the menu. The bedroom was lovely, the bed was extremely comfy - best night's sleep in a while. All in all we can't wait to go back.

We stayed at this hotel for a relaxing weekend. It was WONDERFUL!!!We enjoyed every aspect of our stay-& will definitely be returning. The room was lovely & the staff outstanding. The food is top class too!!!

Very clean cosy and comfortable. Friendly staff. Nice and peaceful. We were having a break to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and unbeknown to me my husband had asked for champagne, chocolates and a huggy bear to be taken to our room, I was speechless when a very pleasant young man arrived at the hotel room door, He was very polite and just made my night so I would like to take this opportunity to thank him.

We came to celebrate our silver weding, having lunched at the hotel on 2 previous occasions and knowing the area well. We were not disappointed and cannot speak too highly of the food, the facilities and especially the excellence and charm of all the staff. The Mallyan Spout Hotel was warm, comfortable and very clean. My sister and I had a standard double room, which was a good size, had a comfortable bed and lovely views. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice of dishes. Evening meal was just as good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We did some hiking and the hotel is ideally situated for some lovely walks. We enjoyed our short break at this hotel, would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

The setting opposite a church,lovely views looking over the North York Moors.Friendly staff they could not do enough for us.Very cosy with the open fire & stove.Excellent Food with Clean,modern & comfortable bed.Will book again.

“It is a wonderful building with a rich history, the price was spot on, I took my mother with me and as she is 84 I politely pointed this out and requested a sea view for her, we were both given Premier rooms with big windows superb views, I would recommend room 34, level -2.
