The 4-star Hotel La Tour Birmingham is just a 5-minute walk from the Bullring Shopping Center. It serves modern food in its stylish restaurant.
Score from 404 reviews Excellent
The hotel was fabulous but the noise during the night was awful. Constant banging and crashing of people coming home drunk until 5am. Such a shame to go away on a girlie weekend without kids and get such a bad sleep!
Location in the centre of town a short walk to bars and restaurants. Availability of taxis outside. Availability of parking. Good sized comfortable rooms.
No view from room looked to an internal area and other rooms. Cost of parking.
Great cocktail bar and mini bar selection. Comfy beds and pillows. Spacious room.
Tea and coffee and bathroom toiletries not replaced before we checked in. This also happened on my last stay here. Additional blankets would be nice.
The bar was relaxing with good cocktails and professional staff. The reception staff were compassionate and helpful.
The bedroom was covered in stains. There was a generator buzzing all night. High expectations met with low standards.
Gym was poor Lack of TV's Lack of protein Needs smiths machine
Rooms well decorated & clean Helpful staff in the spa
Bed rock hard!
The location for the Mal is excellent is right next to the Mail Box and a short walk from New Street Station and because of this we have stayed here several times. The price for a stay here is also great when you can get a deal.
The rooms are looking pretty shabby and tired now. I recently stayed in the London Mal and it has been modernised to such a high standard that it makes the Birmingham one look even worse!
Location was very good, great cocktails. Room was very clean and a well stocked mini bar.
Bed was very uncomfortable and the bar staff were very slow in the main bar.
Rooms are a good size great cocktails in the bar Great Location buzzy environment beautiful decor
Beds not very comfy shower needed to be de scaled breakfast was very disappointing some staff rather rude rooms near lift rather noisy
Clean, stylish room and efficient friendly service.
Random fire alarm going off.
Friendly staff, excellent restaurant, well appointed room
Directions for access could be much better
The size of the room & bathroom. Resturant for breakfast was well presented.
Thought i had an english breakfast included as jt said 'breakfast included' on the internet and was dissapointed to find out it was continental. Also the upfront payment of £50 for any extras knowing full well i wasnt going to use any was a pain as that money could of gone on other things over the weekend.
Not clean enough (e.g. tea stains on the wall) Lack of toiletries
Good rate for the location of the hotel. Some nice touches with better quality tea/coffee and toiletries.
Adding nearly £20 to room price for parking. Hotel is looking tatty - could do with some tidying up.
Construction next door in the mall which I wasn't made aware of and woke me up in the morning.
Upgrade was fabulous , central to town
Room was looking a little tatty in places , however we booked early and got a good deal.
Room upgrade. Suite was excellent
I have been a regular visitor to Birmingham for many years and can truthfully say that, of the 6 or so different hotels I have stayed in during that time, Malmaison remains consistently the best!
An ironing board is good, but a trouser press is better - just more convenient. Thanks
location comfort food rooms decor
car park was closed for maint food expensive
Beds and rooms were very spacious and immaculate. Hotel staff friendly and helpful.
Could have checked in earlier than 3pm
I've booked a superior room at this hotel 2 months in advance because I had to attend a formal party...so I knew that I don't have time to loose, everything had to be planned. I received an email about 1 week before my arrival confirming my reservation and asking if I would like to upgrade. I was truly disappointed when I've got to reception at 7 pm and I was told there are no more superior rooms available but that I can have a standard room (£20 cheaper)... Normally I would've refused and left the hotel, but I had the party to attend...so I didn't have time to look for another option. I personally believe that a very poor quality service was provided in my situation and that I had to pay a big amount of money for something I didn't want.
Reception staff very warm and helpful . They printed off a contract I needed to sign ....no problem . Ben in the restaurant very professional . The food and drink all perfect
The price is surprisingly cheap for Mal Maison and the food is so delicious. House keeping is available whenever and the overall experience is well worth the price. X
No smoking allowed in the rooms :(
Location is great, Superior rooms are very good, well worth upgrading
The fact you dont get a full pint of beer at the bar
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable
the curtains were grubby
