The food was amazing, and the bed was so comfy!
Need a sign saying Reception with arrow to the right when entering through aim entrance & going up a flight of stairs laden.
Excellent city centre location 5 minutes walk from the rail station.Great refurbishment of the former Mathers Hotel. Complements efforts to enhance Dundee City Centre as Destination.
Internal lighting needs to be improved to balance dark decor.
the room was warm and the bed comfortable.
I wish I had been told about how the plastic card is used to open the door and turn on the lights and also how the switch for the shower is not facing me.
No free car parking
Nice decor, great service. Very competitive price on that night.
Room got cold when we left, requiring some time to warm up when we returned. Driven by the key card.
Decor of hotel was excellent plus the location was ideal for lots of good restaurants to visit.
Room cold on arrival (December). Heating in room never worked correctly. Could not get shower to work ( no welcome pack informing how things worked). If I'm to be charged £9.00 for a glass of wine and £4.00 for a 2/3 pint of lager I would expect the above to be in order.
That your in the town centre value for money the staff were excellent the bed was so comfortable
The room was very dark lighting when the curtain was open people from the opposite building could see into our room
Lovely hotel and I would stay again. I've stayed in Malmaisons in other cities, and this matches the typical Malmaison experience.
The hotel seemed understaffed, that said, the staff that were present were helpful and friendly.
City centre hotel which has been sensitively refurbished Front of house staff pleasant
Broken wash hand basin taps Curtain hanging off the rail Window too high to see out and to open for fresh air
The staff were very friendly and efficient. The rooms were of a very high standard. Location was excellent with easy access to all surrounding areas. We will definitely stay here again.
Friendliness of staff Comfortable surroundings Perfect location
Cost of alcoholic drinks were a bit pricey
Water front view room, great at night. Staff friendly and hotel fantastic?
Noise levels was an issue from 5am could hear all the traffic, thought with such a nice hotel would be able to relax, but from 5am onwards couldn't get back to sleep!!!
As a Dundonian, living elsewhere & knowing the past history of this building I must firstly say it is great to see it being used in such a way & returned to the grandeur that it deserves. Our suite overlooked the station and the river giving excellent views. The room comfort was outstanding and on this I would highly commend it. Ease of access into the town, its bars & restaurants was also a major plus.
The decor was very dark and maybe needs reconsidering as it impacted upon the room light even when all lights were on after dusk. The huge TV reception was a problem as was a noisy electrical switch connection for lights over the fridge area, which whilst reported was not resolved. Despite specifically asking about parking arrangements outside the hotel, no one told us that the car parks could be paid for remotely by RingGo, thus saving early morning dashes to get a ticket on our car! These are all minor issues however & wouldn't put me off using the Malmaison again.
Room was nice and cosy
Lengthy check out time (Just to pay a bar Bill of £11.00) Only 2 staff on reception Had to wait over 30 mins to check out and had my wife and lift waiting all that time No excuses that it was the 2 nd January Also paid over £8.00 for a dreadfull made cocktail for my wife (like sherbet dip) not worth the money Bar staff need trained in how to make cocktails Parking next to hotel also expensive won't stay again unless things improve
we loved the whole experience. Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic. Wine was incredible. Brilliant nights sleep, the room was so comfortable and the bed was very cosy. Breakfast in bed was the best we have ever had! We will definitely go back!!
Excellent deal for a one night stay.
Room very dark making it difficult to see when putting make up on. Hope fur throw is laundered between guests but suspect it''s not.....yuck!

Super cosy bed, excellent nights sleep - I didn't want to leave. Fantastic decor in the rooms and throughout. Delicious cocktails, friendly staff. Central location. Can't wait to stay again!
Lack of on site facilities but the surroundings of the hotel more than make up for it.
Free upgrade to a suite was most unexpected and warmly welcomed.
No free parking.
Bed was very comfortable. Girl at reception was lovely.
Service at the bar and at breakfast was terrible.
Generally was good place to stay.
Power went off in my room for a little bit. But apart from that it was fine.
