Staff very friendly, room decor nice, comfy bed. Too dark, not enough lighting, room could have been cleaner, too long a wait for breakfast. |

Location, comfortable room No skimmed milk, no biscuits in room, no bathrobe, pathetically slow service in brasserie and not all guests appeared to get the same service |

It was an excellent location, with good transportation links to the centre of Edinburgh. Free parking was available. The hotel room was small, shabby and in need of redecoration, the wall mounted toilet pan in the bathroom (no 126) was loose, we were offered another room when we reported it to reception. There were no slippers or bath robes. Breakfast was just OK. |

Excellent area to stay with good bus links to city centre and excellent variety of restaurants nearby. Overpriced and getting to look a littel "tired". Breakfast too expensive. |

On the plus side the hotel refunded £50 from the bill. I had to change room twice, the third was OK. The first was not accaptable for variouse reasons. The second was on the third floor, the hot water tap was jammed shut and the lift that serviced that section of the hotel was not working. The third room was acceptable, but then the one remaining list broke down. . |

There were ten people in my party. I arrived at the hotel on a Friday and, while waiting to check in, stood behind two couples who were complaining about the facilities. Within a short while of booking in one of the lifts stopped working. shortly after the second one stopped working. They were still out of action when we left on Monday. On Saturday night at around 2.30-3.30 the fire alarm went off causing great concern. The following morning there was no hot water as the boilers had apparently not been re-set due to the fire alarm going off. When I complained at reception i was behind others who were complaining about the same things. I made an official complaint to the manager and he called me later to say our rooms would be discounted. |

The room was excellent - bed and pillows perfect. Excellent breakfast, Mal Burger and Rissoto in Brasserie! Wine was pricey by the glass. |

the breakfasts we ate were quite nice. We were not impressed with our stay at all. The bed was exceptionally uncomfortable so much so that both my husband and myself took it in turns to sleep on the sofa. The member of staff on reception didn't speak very good english and we could not really understand her. Staff need to cheer up too!!! |

Fantastic service and polite attentive staff. Had an evening meal and the food was delicious, fresh and good value with lovely quirky touches. The breakfast was also a really good choice. Just the fact there was only a power shower and no bath in my room but other than that was lovely. |

The staff on reception were very helpful. The room was tired and in need of a good clean and lick of paint. The furniture was chipped, the carpet stained and the overall feel was the year 2002. Its up against likes of The Balmoral and the Radisson so really needs to up its game. The location was also miss-sold. The impression given was that the hotel was much closer to the city center. This proved inconvenient and very costly in taxi fares. |

A very comfortable stay. Our room was quiet despite being above the kitchen. Interesting decor. Lack of biscuits/hot chocolate. It seemed stingy considering the price of the room. |
