Dated interior. Resturant was like an expensive nando's..
Modern, clean with excellent staff. Food was good
Good rooms and an interesting location. We enjoyed our breakfast and cocktails on the outside terrace.
Hard mattresses but we were told we could get toppers the next day.We will do this if we stay again.
Lovely room had everything we needed and more.
Like it all.
Quiet night's sleep. Spacious room. Breakfast quality.
Staff a little inattentive Quite a slow journey by bus into the city centre
Location ideal for our stay in Leith
The rooms are getting a bit tired and need refurb, especially for the price.
The character of the hotel epitomises it's boutique nature but delivers the best of corporate quality control. My ownly criticism is that the horgeous shampoo and body wash is in such a large quantity it gives you a dilemma as to whether to take it with you or not. I didn't but I wish that I had.
Good location, nice atmosphere and food in brasserie
For the price, double room poor. Cost not value for money. Poor selection of foods available for continental breakfast.
re-using old buildings and bringing new life to them as a hotel. The decor and location by the water.
Promoting it as a place to have a couples weekend - the snacks in the room etc -that joke is passe. the very dark lift area upstairs - it is too dark.
Room was noisy - bit tired. Decor throughout was too dark . Difficult to see. The service wasn't as sharp as I would have hoped- e.g. A tray of remains of room service food was outside next room to ours at 6 pm and still there at 10:00 am next day
Staff, location, breakfast
Rooms were very tired and small, hotel was noisy
Close proximity to Royal Yacht Britannia and only a 15 min bus ride into Edinburgh central.
No local staff and could not answer our questions adequately. No porters and reception staff had to help with our luggage.
No aircon in the room
Had such a fantastic sleep that we have invested in the same type of mattress used by Malmaison!
Location and room great. Staff very good. It is becoming a home from home!
everything was as expected
buses to the hotel were frequent
Having to rush to get ready for meal out at 6 o'clock on what was our meant to be a relaxing weekend for our anniversary. At 3.45 were told that room was not ready and they would phone us to let us know when it would be available. However they did not phone as it was not ready 1 hour later when we returned. The room we had been promised had been given to someone else. We found lots of ants in our room but as we were in a rush to get train did not have time to complain about this.
Helpful staff Extra info in the room such as running route Easy parking Great restaurants close by Easy atmosphere Quiet surroundings
We've had fresh milk in the fridge for tea in other Malmaisons
The hotel is located next to many great eating and drinking places which offer top quality meals and more. All the hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
We booked a twin room and a double with a child bed, the double with child bed was fine, but the other room we were allocated was a double and not a twin as booked, as a result my 19 year old daughter had to share a bed with her grandmother.
breakfast could improve in choice and quality
Everything! Especially the service.
Nothing to not like!
Nothing comes to mind - it was just ok , nothing special
Room faced a wall and for £165 with no breakfast thats way too expensive and considering location out of town wouldn't book again. Was offered an upgrade at check in of £40 meaning they had better rooms available ???? would have been nice to have been offered.
location near the harbor, easy wifi access
the sink in the bathroom is really, really low, not a normal standard. No cristal screen in bathroom but smelly bath curtain. Nice hotel although rather expensive
Location and interesting architecture of hotel
Fire alarm went off for no apparent reason in the early hours on a cold, stormy night. Understand safety comes first but spoiled the stay.
