Location was great as we were going to the Kitchin for dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service at breakfast was not great. Had to wait for table and then there was a wait in gettin served etc. Also, furnishings were a bit shabby. The carpet in the hall was in need of repair and some of the furnishings in the room could have been better. Wifi was shockingly slow!

I loved my stay here. When we checked in they asked if we were here for a special occasion. When I said it was my Birthday, they gave us a complimentary room upgrade with a beautiful view. We were bed and breakfast and the breakfast was wonderful. I will most definitely stay here again, two nights just wasn't long enough.

I liked the room, the dinner menu and the breakfasts. These were all wonderful. I dislike the fact that I could not smoke in the room. I think Malmaison should allocate some rooms for smokers. These rooms could be located on the top floor as this would not affect non smokers.

I found the location & parking facilities good. The staff were friendly & listened to my complaints as I found the Hotel very disappointing I found the room very tired & in need of decorating. The curtain rail was broken & therefore the curtain did not cover the window. The bathroom was dirty with what appeared to be blood on the door. Their aim to create a different type of decor needs to be maintained better as it felt shabby & a bit dirty. Breakfast was served in the bar area where people were seated very close together & the tables seemed sticky from the previous nights alcohol. All in all it was very disappointing.

Love that we got an upgrade when we said we'd have problems stepping over bath into shower. Beautiful room and very friendly staff who were only too keen to help with any requests. Ate there Christmas eve and the food was superb. Didn't like that there was no drawer space in the rooms at all.

The restaurant was excellent! Staff also visible when needed. Really loved the decor also. We didn't think the bed as comfy as other hotels we have stayed.

The staff were very friendly and engaging. The Resturant Manager was especially helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and well presented. The free wi-fi was well appreciated. In my opinion the room was too dark, with all the available lights on. I felt more lights were required. It took me a while to find the mini bar and tea making facilities.

Really nice and well appointed room. Very poor breakfast, especially the coffee - kind of made me worry what the evening meals would be like?

Lovely hotel, great spot, rooms good, food good, quiet time. Ordered room service, soup and a burger. They said twenty minutes. Called back again after 50. All in all it took 55 mins. Not the best service and I expected better. I did discuss with duty manager and after some thought she agreed to remove food from bill so ended ok but that time when your waiting and hungry is enough to make me say not staying here again.

Enjoyed an excellent and memorable dinner in the restaurent and thoroughly enjoyed a conversation with an attractive young lady from Roumania. Also apprceciated the fact that at breakfast I could order traditional porridge - what was described on the menu as savory porridge! I will likely return.

The breakfast was excellent. The staff at breakfast and reception were very attentive and we did not have to ask for anything it was offered politely. They were very friendly and were full of useful information for our trip. Unfortunately it does not compare to the Malmaison Leeds. The bedding should be changed on a more frequent basis or the opportunity for it to be done if requested.

I really liked the design and the river view, which I hadn't expected. The style of the bedroom and bathroom would cause me to come back. The breakfast facilities were inadequate. I had to go to work in the morning and had paid for breakfast but there was no table available. I had to wait at least 10 minutes to get one and had thoughts of having to leave without breakfast. The dining room was simply too small. I didn't see the menu because the "toast" design didn't look a menu, so I didn't see the range of options until it was too late. There was no spoon for my bowl of fruit. It took me a while to notice there was some cutlery concealed inside the napkin, but when I opened it there was no spoon. It took some time to get the attention of a waiter who eventually brought a spoon. I ordered poached eggs, which were harder than I had expected although I hadn't specified I had to ask twice for mustard which eventually came after I had finished the first of two sausages. My hand kept getting sticky - it turned out someone had got marmalade under the arm of the chair. Not really the staff's fault and they did fetch a damp cloth when I asked for one. I would try Malmaison once more, because I like the design and bedroom, but if breakfast had similar problems a second time, I wouldn't return and I would advise colleagues against using it.
