The food was fabulous! The rooms were luxury. All round the hotel meet my expectations. The only thing I felt was that they need to consider air conditioning as the weather was great but very little air in the rooms. There was a fan in the room & we kept the window open all night. |

The hotel is situated overlooking the pretty Water of Leith with trendy bars and restaurants in the facinity. The bar staff in Malmaison were very attentive and friendly as were the reception staff. I didn't like the noise from the heating in the roof space, which kept me awake most nights. The beds are too hard as well and I had to ask for extra pillows |

Close to good bus routes into the city, An interesting area to stay and walk around. Our room was at the side of the hotel and we were woken by clattering delivery trolleys early each morning. No air conditioning in room and no extractor fan or window in bathroom. Restaurant was poor for the prices charged - e.g. food served on cold plates, terrible coffee! Breakfast is not included in price and the continental breakfast at £11.95 each was only cereal, fruit and cold pastries. |

Friendliness and helpfulness of the desk staff. Excellent internet connectivity (and free - as it should be). Location is beautiful, the facility is historic, and the neighborhood has excellent bars and restaurants. Service in the bar and restaurant was sporadic. Orders were only partially filled, items ordered were omitted and items not ordered were provided. This is something that could be easily remedied and not a structural business problems. |

exorbitant rate because there was little hotel availability, poor facilities considering the cost. An additional cost was added when paying as type of insurance for mini bar etc. This was not explained. also £1 added for charity again not explained and no information in the rooms re the charity |

Location to good bars restaurants and shops. Close enough to Edinburgh centre with easy parking. Hotel is becoming run down and needs a refurb. A lot of the information given does not apply now, such as a CD library, trendy lights (halogen downlighters??). Noisy with a workshop next door that was working on a Sunday and Bank holiday. |

We had one small problem with a window that wasn't closing properly - notified reception and when we came back that afternoon it was sorted. No hassles. |

It was very homey, reminding me of boutique hotels. The furniture and style of the hotel was excellent. However in the room there was lack of stationary (just basic paper and pencil) when I went downstairs to reception to ask for a black pen they didnt have any. Other than that the service was great, the breakfast was lovely, and they had a wide selection of foods. No. |

The location is excellent, and the hotel was very comfortable with helpful & friendly staff. We did not eat in the hotel as there are so many excellent restaurants in Leith, including 3 Michelin-starred establishments. |
