Breakfast was good, but slow
The smell of the lifts !!
The hotel was beautiful, and in a fantastic location. I would highly recommend it on that basis and would stay there again!
Staff were un-interested at times, took 15mins for the waiter to read the specials in the restaurant and we had to then ask to place a drinks order. Felt that for the star of hotel, surroundings and facilities the staff let it down!!
Reception was welcoming and room service good.
The Interior of the Hotel was very poorly lit with very dark walls in the corridors. The rooms were especially poorly lit which made it difficult when getting ready for the evening or day.
Very poor lighting in the bedroom. Impossible to read in the room. Very loud music in bar, and worse, in the restaurant for breakfast
Location and fashion of the hotel were great for my purposes, also handy for not overly expensive parking right next door. Had room on upper floors overlooking the river. Room was well appointed, with a proper sized TV, spacious and fashionable, with a reasonable amount of power points for a change.
Room only had a shower and no bath. Was geared for disabled, so wet room style, which was not exactly practical as almost the whole floor got wet and was slippery as a result.... Other than that, the only criticism I would have was that the lighting was poor, especially when having a shave.....
Shower and bathroom facilities are excellent BUT inadequate lighting e.g. for shaving, and general toilet activities. The general interior decoration of the hotel, the bar, the bedroom and the bathroom (the latter subject to the inadequacies mentioned) is original and pleasing and is in keeping with the originality of the City, its architecture and development. The reception staff and the bar staff were both helpful and smiling.
The type and volume of music in the bar is unattractive and intolerable: it seems to have no relationship to the type of person who was in the bar and the atmosphere relevant to them: they were neither young, teenagers, interested in the type of music played and they would have been equally enjoying each others' company without being sometimes dominated by the sound. Insufficient lighting in the bedrooms: inadequate reading light both in the room generally and by the bedside. No drawers in the room e.g. for shirts, underwear , socks, etc.
great hotel in great location, Froday evening gig at Echo arena, some shopping and a couple of really good nights out !
If on a budget you can certainly get cheaper
The bathroom facilities were fabulous. The attention to detail in the room was spot on. Tea/coffee facilities were good too. Overall a lovely night.
I would have been more inclined to use the mini bar if it wasn't for the silly pricing. A coke was £2! The price of the room should be reason enough to make the prices of the mini bar etc. a little more realistic.
Loved the whole "aura" of the hotel. Staff were friendly and efficient. Didn't want to check out!! Will use Malmasion hotels for future visits in cities.
Paid for the two nights in cash, & they still wanted a credit/debit card of 50 pounds which is refundable. Maybe previous guests have used amenities and not paid!!! Not all guests are dishonest!!!
Lack of variety in the evening meal menu. Also the lighting in the bedroom was too dim -it was difficult to read in bed. No clock in the bedroom. No use in the bathroom if you are in bed! Also, the upgraded room had a broken blind & a broken bulb in the bedside lamp so it obviously had not been checked. Also the situation of the, assistance bar in the bathroom was of little use for help in getting out of the lovely big bath. Someone needs to try it out & put it in an appropriate place for an elderly person.
Paying for parking &breakfast
Big bed and bath. Lovely rainfall shower.
Bed sheets smelt of smoke. Sewage smell everytime toilet was flushed.
Comfortable rooms with big bath All expected facilities and speedy free wifi
Dark decor Needed a torch to complete the registration form on arrival at 4pm
We had a Superior kingsize room which looked lovely and was nice & quiet. The tv was nice & big and the hairdryer was excellent.
Sadly the Malmaison group now take £50 from you on top of your payment for the room. They claim it's so you can book "things" to your room. I'm not a fan of this practice, this is not a £50 a night b&b, not very classy at all. When we asked how they would deal with this should we have been paying cash and not had the extra £50, the receptionist claimed we would not have been "allowed" to check in !!!!!! Really ! We had a drink at the bar, to be told they don't do pints, they sell 2/3 of a pint and in her own words - "for the price of a pint". Yes and some, 2/3 of a pint of lager & an orange with lemonade £7.60. The shower head attached to the bath was broken away and was filthy. The bathroom other wise looked clean and the toiletries were great. Then I used the monsoon shower / wet room , the grout was black in keeping with the whole colour scheme, but it was very furry - yuck. Be aware if you have allergies as the bedding is feather - very noisy when you move in bed which I did quite a lot as the mattress was like a concrete slab. My mattress at home is memory foam so I really struggled to sleep which was a shame because like I said, the room was lovely and quiet. I was informed the next Morning you can request normal, hypo allergenic bedding
Location was good - not directly in the city centre but 5-10 minute walk. Great location for the Echo Arena and Albert Dock.
Smell in the bathroom of room 329 was like stale water, not nice
Receptionist and bar staff rude.
Something different to usual big hotel chains Great location straight on to waterfront, Liverpool One 5 min walk away Friendly welcoming staff and Superior double room was comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Would recommend & use again
Got a decent rate on room only but then paid £13.50 per person for continental breakfast then £2 on top for cooked breakfast. Bar prices in hotel steep but Liverpool is a city to get out of your hotel at night and enjoy the great bars and restaurants
Very attentive and friendly staff. Will definitely recommend to others.
Room looked fantastic, lovely quiet hotel! Enjoyed the late check out time.
Member of staff on reception was very rude. a friend ended out having a disabled access bathroom although it was not requested, certainly not as luxurious as the other rooms yet she still had to pay full price! I found the previous room occupants discarded false eyelashes in my room, which in my opinion was pretty disgusting.
Found it difficult to make a cup of coffee in our room
Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and obliging.
Lighting in our room was poor? Breakfast could have been included in room price.
The presence of human hair in the bed. The discourteous approach by a receptionist to a request by my wife for a porter. The absence of any reason why we were given a room for a disabled person. The failure by the heating system to work correctly.
