convenient to the train station. The quality of the food was disappointing (risotto was slightly under-done and too salty, and they need more practice in their home-made icecream). i am a regular at the Malmaison London restaurant which is consistently excellent so i was surprised that the one in Manchester was not up to par. |

The decor of the rooms is nice but my room (501) was slightly too small for the size of the bed although it has a good sized shower room. The lifts are very slow and look a bit shabby and there is no parking so you can't stop outside and unload your luggage. |

Comfortable, stylish room. Excellent shower. All staff that I encountered were polite and helpful. 'Mood'lighting in the bedrooms/bathrooms not always quite enough eg for shaving/reading. |

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and this seemed genuine as opposed to the stilted smiles staff seem trained to give at some other establishments Due to ridiculous and constraining rules that the receptionist told us had been imposed by "The Management" the establishment seemed more like a concentration camp than a hotel. For instance, whilst we were waiting in reception to meet a friend we asked for a pot of tea for two. |

Room was comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast was excellent. Staff were polite and chamring. Coffee at breakfast was weak and no flavour. Food in the evening was stodgy with little available in terms of fresh vegetables and salad. Too much bread with everything. The first night I got woken up by a porter knocking on my door and then phoning me they had got the wrong room by mistake - I was very tired and fast asleep - they did not really apologise. |

Situated very close to Manchester Piccadilly Station and to large department stores, as well as a good selction of restaurants. The lighting in the bathroom (over the wash basin) was poor, casting a shadow and so making it difficult to shave or to apply makeup. |

I liked the bathroom, very modern and stylih with a great shower. I liked the down comforter and pillows with fresh white clothes. I did not like the noise in my room (most likely from the elevator next to my room) that kept me awake all night long. When I asked at the reception for ear plugs they promised to send some but then never came. When I went an hour later to ask for them, they said they don"t have any but they did not want to tell me to not wake me. |

We like the Malmaison chain - it was very well situated for my use of the rail stations in M/c for travel on business. I would have liked a BBC news channel or CNN not just SKY!It was not obvious where to switch on the Towel Rail so bathroom was rather cold. |
