Excellent, friendly staff. Greeted with room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise! Good location for central Manchester and tram system great for getting around if looking to visit Salford Quays and Old Trafford. Room was stylish and well maintained. Overall, great place and no hesitation recommending the mm. Charge £5 / night for 'complimentary' bottled water, I'll happily pay it!

Have stayed several times before so familiar with hotel.Very consistent.Liked the refurbished bar area and friendly staff. Slow to check out in morning in spite of three staff working on desk. The room this time had the sound of running water through pipes which woke me early in morning? At breakfast my colleague ordered waffles but waiter apologised saying not available............but he went on to say that the waffle iron hasn't worked since he started working there! He didn't say how long that was but it left us wondering whether weeks or months!! Ultimately still a nice hotel which I will continue to use when in the area

Malmaison is in a great location for a short stay in Manchester. It is a 2 minute walk from the main station and a 5 minute walk to the main shopping area. It is priced fairly and has a good level of comfort, hopspitality and services availible. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food is good enough that if you want to eat in the hotel you can and get a quality meal. The bar area has a nice atmosphere and is good for a pre/late night drink. The rooms are comfortable and have a reasonable design quality. I upgraded to an excutive room which had recently been refurbished and it was ideal for a short stay business or leisure trip. (Some standard rooms have yet to be refurbished)

The location was ideal and almost a perfect hotel but there was a few important attention to detail things let it down especially for the price,if they want to price them selves up the higher end of the market we expected more. For the price of the hotel the attention to detail was missing in some areas, like no dressing gowns and slippers ,the air con didnt work properly, the bed was uncomfortable also.especially in an Excutive room in which we stayed in..We also couldnt get a table for dinner expecting to as we were residents. They ran out of quality lagers leaving only Heineken on draft. Other than that 6/10 came the score

This hotel was lovely, very clean etc.. good location, 5 minute walk to arndale shopping centre. Wide range of restaurants and bars in walking distance. Bedrooms were lovely, very clean, ipod docks and plasma tv. Lovely to spend the weekend in. I did not like the food served in the hotel, very expensive for what it was. We paid 60 pound for maincourse only! There is no meal included in your stay, and we were never informed on how to go about getting breakfast.

Generally we thought the hotel was very good with excellent location in the city centre. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The lack of organisation in the bar area was poor. It was waiter service they were inattentive and left us waiting 20 mins just to place an order which took further 15 mins to arrive.

Superb location. 3 minutes from Picadilly Station, 5 minutes to all that Central Manchester has to offer. Good quality room, if a little small for a double, but very well appointed. Breakfast rasnks up there with the best of them for quality ingredients Spa was disappointing, small and as very much in the basement - with little effort to disguise this. Service in the restaurant at breakfast was indifferent, not sure if they were short staffed or simply busy, but below par for any establishment, very much so an establishment such as Malmaison

convenient from station too noisy by busy road and tramlines and room not adequately soundproofed - had requested a quiet room so presumably the others are even noisier. internal decor well done originally but beginning to look tatty - chipped edges to bath panel and desk. bath mat was dirty underneath

The room was fabulous and much quieter than my last stay at Malmaison. Everything worked too! The new bar and bistro was bustling and popular - considering it was a miserable, wet Tuesday night. But the service was stretched, although the staff were pleasant and helpful

Central location, good breakfast, I imagine some rooms would be nicer. Room was very noisy and unclean. Drinks took over half an hour to come from the bar and were expensive. Totally overpriced for the room we had.

“The Midland is in a great location, I stayed for my Boyfriends birthday treat, the Xmas markets were round the corner which was easy walking and central to get round Manchester. The Midland was clean and the rooms were a good size and comfy beds. We were given a free bottle of wine with our room rate and we ordered room service for the morning, as they were late we got it free of charge, food was lovely and hot. A great stay..” Lorraine, Manchester |
