Staff very polite and helpful. Great contemporary furnishing and decor design. Very "plush" and luxurious. Bed very comfortable and really nice complimentary toiletries. Great location in City Centre. Very cheap parking nearby. Particularly good for romantic getaways! Great ambience. We have stayed in lots of hotels in the City Centre and this really is one of the best for the money. Looking forward to staying there again. One tiny complaint... The windows do not open in the rooms. Just a personal thing we like.

It is very well located for the station and city centre. The staff are friendly. I like the food in the restaurant. It's predictable. (I have stayed there a lot). You can sometimes be disturbed by noise of other guests. At breakfast they seem to run out of things on the continental bar which are not immediately replaced when it's very busy. If you're lucky you're given a pot of tea - if you're unlucky you might be given a cup by the waiter, but then it's difficult to get a refill.

Location is excellent as is the comfort levels within the hotel. Restaurant looked inviting. Speed of check in is good and also facility to "quick check out" appreciated. As mentioned by previous reviewers the hotel is a little dark and the rooms do seem a bit gloomy because of this, but this appears to be apparent throughout the mal chain. Two fixed placed lamps are also attached to the full length mirrors which make them almost unusable. Room service very loud in the mornings in the corridors outside rooms before check out time. Is this some kind of scheme to ensure you wake up and check out on time? Definitely seemed that way.

It's a bit 'funky' and different - not your typical faceless chain hotel. Staff friendly and efficient. Room wasn't the biggest, and cooked breakfast wasn't great - egg was overdone and sausage was small and undercooked in middle. Bacon was good though.

The Hotle rooms were large with pleanty of space to move about, the large double bed was over 6ft wide a little firm for my personal liking but as far as hotle beds go excelent. The mini bar was over priced at £3 for crisps and wine at £13 for an very avarage bottle. The complementry products tea, coffee were of great quality shame there was only 1 of every thing. The towels were also massive wrapped round my size 16 frame 2x and i will most defo be staying there again, since its just a 5 min walk from the rail way station we couldnt have wished for better. the lifts are small and pokey not a great place to be stuck.

The staff were lovely, check in and out was seemless, but it took nearly 30 minutes to get our drinks order taken at the bar. I have stayed in Malmaison hotels before and unfortunately I was disappointed with my room at the Manchester Hotel. It didn't feel clean, the furniture was scrapped, poor quality and I found the bed incredibly hard. The door to the corridoor was not flush with the floor and when noisy revellers returned to their rooms my partner and I were disturbed. I would not stay at this hotel again.

The decor On arrival the woman on the reception said there was no bookingn for me even thought I had my refferance number. I was made to find the email on my friends mobile phone before I was given a room we even had to email the conformation email to her. Found this process embarassing and long winded felt like I was not welcome.

Malmaison is in a great location for a short stay in Manchester. It is a 2 minute walk from the main station and a 5 minute walk to the main shopping area. It is priced fairly and has a good level of comfort, hopspitality and services availible. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food is good enough that if you want to eat in the hotel you can and get a quality meal. The bar area has a nice atmosphere and is good for a pre/late night drink. The rooms are comfortable and have a reasonable design quality. I upgraded to an excutive room which had recently been refurbished and it was ideal for a short stay business or leisure trip. (Some standard rooms have yet to be refurbished)
