A lovely relaxed hotel with a brilliant vibe and charm
Top location, comfortable room and a very nice bar for the nightcap. Nice breakfast (hot & Buffet). All in all Highlight recomandable
It was a bit noisy, avoid the lower floors.
Really handy for both the station and the town centre. Check in was fast and the desk staff really helpful. The room was fairly dark inside (but atmospheric), with plentiful toiletries. The downstairs bar was well used and the cocktails lovely!
Building work and noise going on outside the window
It is become tired
The staff were friendly and helpful. Great cocktails.
My room was facing a huge neon sign which kept me awake most of the night.also the room was too dimly lit to read in.I was moved to a brighter and better room at the back of the hotel for my second night.
Let me just say how fantastic this place is. They upgraded us from a standard to executive suite which was great of them. Everything was excellent. The breakfast was spot on the time we asked. Couldn't fault the place and my fiancee was more than happy as it was her birthday. All I can say is a massive thank you.
Super location, close to Piccadilly station. Good vibe in the bar.
Maybe too much purple (carpets & wallpaper)
I stay here all the time...I've no idea why this place has lost a star, I think it's the best hotel in Manchester.
A great room at a brilliant price
There was no standalone, rainfall shower - just a rather basic shower head and a bathtub.
Room, bed and breakfast....
Gym needs to be updated.....
The bedroom felt more like an after thought, maybe an old storage cupboard that has been renovated, very unusual layout with the headboard of the bed right next to the wall of the joining room, who were having a party (at least 10 people) that was still going on at 6am when I decided to check. Several complaints were made throughout the night but despite policy of only having guests in rooms nothing was done to disperse the party. No sleep! Toiletries in room not replaced so after the first night there weren't any left, not really what I expect from a hotel that advertises itself as a 'relaxing spa hotel' and charges as much as they do. Never again!
Amazing staff who were welcoming and helpful, free wifi with good signal, great location with parking practically next door and a gorgeous room.
We liked the hotel very much. So convenient for the shops and restaurants. Bedroom very quiet. Would stay here again.Shaun
Most staff did their best, but the maid who was sent to fix my heating had a very poor grasp of English.
I stay in malmaison a lot as I travel with my dog frequently. This is the first time I've stayed at the Manchester hotel and I felt it was poor compared to others. The rooms are not that nice, I arrived on a very cold night and was given a room where the heating didn't work. I had to wait 45 minutes to get a new room and then had to wait outside as the maid was still making up the bed. I asked for a dog basket on check in and didn't get one. The phone in my new room was broken so I had to phone the front desk on my mobile to order room service. The room was so hot I couldn't sleep and in the morning my key card didn't work so I needed to call reception again to get into my room. I don't know Manchester very well but I'm not squeamish, having grown up in inner city birmingham and living in Hackney but I think it is quite a rough city centre area. There were large gangs of drunken men hanging around and I wouldn't recommend the area for solo female travellers.
Location Bar and restaurant Room
Very noisy due to poor windows could do with better double glazing
We loved the whole style of the hotel - the rooms, bathrooms, lobby and attractive bar area. We felt very spoilt staying there and the bed was so comfy, we wanted to stay!
Wifi was patchy in our room.
Beautiful room, very good staff pandering simple the most comfortable bed I have had the pleasure to sleep in, superb all round. Thank you
Electronic curtain didn't work, no big deal.
Very modern, great value and friendly staff. Should be rated more than 3 stars - rooms are lovely, beds really comfortable and the deep bath is a bonus! We had a great night, the restaurant is really gorgeous and the spa is to die for! Highly recommended.
Early check in. Decor and comfort of room were lovely. Quality of tea and coffee in room. Heating and air conditioning were swift and effective. Quiet.
No full length mirror. No sockets by bed. No shaving mirror in bathroom. No top up of tea and coffee in room. Pillowcase was ripped. No hot water; although this was acknowledged and remedied later. Inefficient check-out.
Good sized room
Paid £30 for our 4 year old to stay in the room, and had to ask for the bed to be made up. Breakfast was disappointing, much better breakfast at Mal newcastle.
The communal areas are looking worn and shabby Needs updating Expensive for what you got
£9.00 for a glass of red in the bar!
The hotel is lovely and very close to the shops.
There is no decent lighting in the rooms to apply make up. The service in the restaraunt was very poor.
