Score from 1213 reviews Very good
staff are great (Lindsay especially)
pillows too soft lighting too low for doing make up
The riverside location with spectacular views of the millennium bridge and the sage Gateshead are unrivalled. The room was exquitly furnished and breakfast very good.
Decor was a bit dark in the halls, a bit too much purple.
Management team were very apologetic and subsequently contacted us with an offer.
Room wasn't clean and had to be recleaned whilst we were there. Mini bar snacks had been eaten by previous guests. Hotel very tired, carpets worn, soft furnishings dirty, paintwork chipped
Staff and service
Breakfast Comfortable bed and good bedding
Lighting (lack of) in room. Side rooms have no view.
The whole building blocked out the noise from the quayside. The room was comfortable and the location was spot on.
The big long climb to get back to train station.
service was good usual ambience staff all very pleasant brilliant view at night everything was lit up
hotel decor looking a bit jaded compared to previous visits shower gel not renewed after the first night
Friendly helpful staff great views room 221
noise from the street early am
Great location. Nice tomm and friendly staff
Breakfast was ridiculously priced
Very modern with all you would expect from a 4 star hotel! Food and service was excellent. Room was very comfortable, with a bath! A great nights sleep.
Everything really really nice
staff are friendly and helpful
breakfast in room - poor value for money Noise from outside can be heard at night
Everything about the hotel was gorgeous, the view from the room was just incredible and the staff were absolutely lovely! Wish the stay was longer!
View of river tyne
Quality of omelette at breakfast
Lovely Hotel. Quirky, trendy and in the heart of the action.
Lovely location and beautiful room.
Once checked in, we were disturbed twice in the middle if the afternoon by house keeping trying to get in. In the middle of the night the smoke alarm in the room went off which disrupted our sleep for the rest of the night.
I loved the hotel and the location was amazing, best view of a hotel we have had so far.
very expensive as £2 for a 330ml can of coke was ridiculous, the bed was too hard was like sleeping on a door and the pillows was to soft, felt like I was suffocating when laid head sideways.
Every thing Not cheap but but very good
Terrible soft pillows in spite of having 3 each, duvet did not cover double bed properly. Could not sleep because pillows useless . Not enough light in bathroom or bedroom to make-up.. Open window so high up had to call staff to climb up on chair to close window
Staff were friendly , room was comfortable
The hotel is very dark and has a gloomy feel! Rooms arnt as bad as reception and corridoors but i felt claustrophobic !
Staff friendly and polite great Location Good size rooms and Bath
very Dusty Curtains stained Beds uncomfy
Location is excellent, walking distance to the main attractions of Newcastle. Comfortable beds and nice rooms. Good prices in the bar for a hotel of this standard. Good views of the river and the bridges.
Room service menu a bit limited. The hotel decor is a bit dark for my taste.
The location was excellent, right on the river and next to the Millennium Bridge. We had a wedding on the other side of the bridge and it was walkable. So perfect for us.
We were charged for the wedding breakfast because we booked through Bookings.com and not through the bridal couples name, which I thought was a little cheesy and a bit expensive!
Had a lovely birthday weekend at the malmaison newcastle. Lovely spacious room, friendly helpful staff, and a free cocktail
Nothing at all.
Location Bar Room comfort and facilities Attentive staff
Continental breakfast is expensive
