food and drink was to expensive
Very helpful & friendly reception staff. The room was fantastic being spacious & the bed was really comfortable. Couldn't fault our stay.
Your choice of dark decor was a big big mistake. The dark corridors are positively creepy. The entire hotel is too dark. Goodness knows how anyone with impaired sight manages. Do lighten up. Decoration of this type is so passe.
The bed was the most comfortable bed in any hotel I have ever used. Size of the room was good. Staff really friendly and attentive.
Subdued lighting hides a lot of things. Not enough tea and coffee in the room. Cleanliness not what was expected, and the refurbishment, ie painting of doors walls could have been to a higher standard.
We have stayed at a number hotels in the Malmaison chain and all have been excellent. The location in Newcastle is excellent and the room and facilities lived up to expectations
The cooked breakfast was not hot which really spoilt it. We didn't complain on the day as the restaurant was quite busy and we couldn't really get the attention of the staff
sound of tv in adjoining room could he heard through the walls. Woken in the night by recycling of bottles. Room very dark. In all not good value for money
Lovely cooked breakfast.
The Bercher Muesli on the breakfast buffet was made with chopped apples. It's much much nicer with grated.
Fantastic view. Great cocktails&pleasant bar/lounge Room good size Breakfast nice selection, tasty
Nothing to dislike..very pleasant trendy hotel
All staff very friendly. All went a bit further than they need to do to make us welcome. Very quiet rooms. Bed very comfortable. Room a nice size
Bar struffy, it needs a really good clean and there needs to be a lot more attention to keeping public spaces looking good through the day. It's way too dark for us. We should have taken a torch!
Location and restaurant, Starbucks "inhouse".
Very dark interior.
The room and facilities in the room were very good. Perfect.
I did struggle a little with the AC
Room not ready on arrival
Reception staff friendly and professional Room & bathroom was fair size, & a good view of the Tyne, clean and good quality furnishings. Bar staff good and on the ball for taking your order
Décor in Halls to the rooms quite dark and oppressive. Lifts are as old as the original building & seems to have a mind of there own !
Fairly quiet location & handy for Quayside.
Generally very dark décor, couldn`t distinguish between walls/ceilings/lift & carpet etc. Noisy pipework.
Bar is very comfortable and great place to hang out, but was not properly staffed. Took way too long to get service.
comfortable great staff good location clean good size rooms great breakfast amazing cocktails
Dated room and very slow bar service
Cuatomer service was first class. Nice warm welcome when we arrived. The style of the hotel was lovely. My kind of style. All facilities were great to use. I like the idea of the mini bar.
When we arrived we were told we had to pay £25 deposit for the moni bar which we had no intention on using it. We did have a budget on card and in cash which made this a little inconvenient and slightly embarrassing. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable I also noticed there was matress toppers on which did not help at all. As a pregnant guest this was highly uncomfortable. It would have been nice to be able to sleep on something that does not resemble a concrete floor. The price you pay to stay i would expect more comfort. I have paid less for other hotels which have been extremely comfortable. I understand there is limited amount of food to make during the night but the choices given on the night nites menu is slim. We resorted to ordering from a pizza shop which was revolting at no fault of the malmaison.
Location - seeing the tyne from our window was a definite plus
the bed - it was hard which was quite surprising as I normally prefer a firmer bed
Free upgrade to a suite which was fantastic!
Fantastic location, friendly staff,excellent food
stayed in a twin room. found a load of debris in room
Spacious comfortable room. Great location. Helpful friendly staff.
