Lovely Hotel. Quirky, trendy and in the heart of the action.
Lovely location and beautiful room.
Once checked in, we were disturbed twice in the middle if the afternoon by house keeping trying to get in. In the middle of the night the smoke alarm in the room went off which disrupted our sleep for the rest of the night.
Every thing Not cheap but but very good
Terrible soft pillows in spite of having 3 each, duvet did not cover double bed properly. Could not sleep because pillows useless . Not enough light in bathroom or bedroom to make-up.. Open window so high up had to call staff to climb up on chair to close window
Staff were friendly , room was comfortable
The hotel is very dark and has a gloomy feel! Rooms arnt as bad as reception and corridoors but i felt claustrophobic !
Staff friendly and polite great Location Good size rooms and Bath
very Dusty Curtains stained Beds uncomfy
Location is excellent, walking distance to the main attractions of Newcastle. Comfortable beds and nice rooms. Good prices in the bar for a hotel of this standard. Good views of the river and the bridges.
Room service menu a bit limited. The hotel decor is a bit dark for my taste.
Had a lovely birthday weekend at the malmaison newcastle. Lovely spacious room, friendly helpful staff, and a free cocktail
Nothing at all.
Location Bar Room comfort and facilities Attentive staff
Continental breakfast is expensive
Bedroom was nice
A lick of paint in a few places would greatly improve the appearance. First time I have stayed at a hotel and paid for parking.
Room was dusty and in need or a bit more touch up on the decoration.... Room was situated at back of hotel and was rather noisy early morning from traffic and rubbish collection
Great location, good room with view of the river, very friendly staff.
Like other Malmaisons the hotel went for the atmospheric but extremely dimly lit approach to lighting. Could hardly see a thing in some parts of the hotel. A minor quibble.
My friend arrived from holland and we drove Scotland to malmasion Newcastle it was central with stunning view of saga centre and shopped till we dropped
Nice if robes were provided
Its easy accessible to local attractions and shopping. It was nice and quiet.
Thought the full breakfast was only fair and not worth the price. It was delivered to the wrong table. The toast was stone cold. The eggs had been fried to long and were hard. Black pudding was very dry over cooked. Sausage was under cooked.
Loved the corner suite. Loved the toiletries.
Would have preferred a different suite to what we were given as stayed in this one before.
Excellent location. Wonderfully warm welcome from Reception. Huge, well-appointed room. Superb breakfast. All members of staff are delightful. Convenient and reasonably-priced parking.
Pleasant, helpful staff. Room large and comfortable. Very attentive staff and service in the bistro. Fantastic view of Millennium Bridge from our room.
We would like to have had the choice of a cooked breakfast as part of the price as well as a continental breakfast.
Everything loved the view from window. Beautiful luxurious place to stay I would highly recommend.
The reception staff were very helpfull. We checked in early and they kept our luggage for us and put it in our room ready for later. The room was large, clean and comfortable.
We were there for our son's graduation so it was very busy. The service in the bar was very slow, there was not enough staff to provide the quality of service I would expect from this standard of hotel
Great location and comfortable bed
Shampoo/body wash not refilled Wardrobe doors broken, hard to slide Everything looks tired and needs lick of paint
location, staff- very friendly and happy to help.
The room was not very clean, dusty tables. Fingerprints on plug sockets, floor mucky in bathroom, marks on tv screen.
Absolutely beautiful hotel, gorgeous views of the millennium bridge. Staff very helpful and I will be back soon!
Mini bar and in room snacks silly prices.
Great position for exploring the city. Quiet room and very clean and comfortable. Good bar.
Snacks in room far too expensive. Would be nice to have fresh milk in fridge available.
Room was tidy and reasonably well equipped
Expensive Nice to have the offer of an upgrade by email although this was a bit worthless if there are never going to be any upgrades available
Location. Superb spot - perfect for walking to all the places we needed to be. Fabulous view of The Sage, The Baltic, the many bridges.
Decor looks tired, careworn and needs some attention. The trouble with dark paintwork and cheap fittings is that every bit of damage and dirt shows. Chips to paintwork etc, plus our room could have done with a really thorough clean. Lightbulb in shower didn't work, nor did one of the lamps. Needs some love and the sort of attention to detail and nice touches that make good hotels memorable and special ie; bottled water in an expensive suite like ours could be replaced daily. Pyjamas could have been folded rather than dumped in pile. Breakfast should be included in the price. No turn-down service. Reception area could do with a massive overhaul. The dark look is dated and needs a rethink.
