We enjoyed everything about our stay,I would recommend this hotel!
location was superb
Superb location and friendly staff couldn't have done more to please us
£28 as a parking fee.
The temperature in the room and along the corridors was a bit warm
When we checked in the GM made sure that luggage is in place, gave a very warm welcome, nice rooms. N Mr. Pason at the Reception - took care of everything very nicely.
Staff and location
Bed too hard and room too warm
Location the hotel its self and the staff where excellent
Paying extra for breakfast and parking tv was falling of the wall the milk was off. And there was a half eaten chocolate bar in the room. Some of the lights didnt work and window blinds didnt shut properly. And being the kings room i wouldnt expect that.
Building; conversion; comfort; location; breakfast
Price on the high side but not outrageous
This historic building is packed with history and has been converted from gaol house to hotel very sympathetically, the staff were all very helpful offering great service. The restaurant served great food at reasonable prices, all in all a good place to stay.
There was only one down side for us, having paid a lot of money for a large superior room with a balcony, we found that with the balcony doors open we were subject to a lot of noise coming from the 2 restaurants with outside tables situated directly underneath even at 11.00pm, so much that we had to close the doors, maybe they should advise that some rooms are subject to this.
The brilliant position in the city within walking distance of sights, colleges and shops. This was important as the weather was not kind. Able to park immediately outside

Absolutely fantastic hotel. I love Malmaison hotels but this is a real treat! Such an expectational, special building. It's now in my top 3 favourite hotels ever. Wish I'd stayed longer and will be definitely be back!
Beautiful building, friendly staff and great location.
Unfortunately I ended up having to sleep in the bath tub because the bed was so hard I had a back ache! I don't think in all my years of staying in luxury hotels I have ever slept in a bed this uncomfortable.
All Oxford's main attractions are within easy walking distance. Our room was warm and comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast buffet offered a wide choice. The restaurant was full on both evenings we were there, but there are plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. An enjoyable stay.
On site parking Trained helpful staff Great room Excellent breakfast
The bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed we have ever slept on. So much for a nice night away and a late lie-in - we hardly slept and checked out at 9.30.
Great decor and ambience. Friendly staff
Mattress far too hard. Coffee too weak
the atmosphere and the decor of the room was perfect. The layout was well thought out and it was the best night sleep i have had in ages. i would thoroughly recommend staying here, the cells are fantastic.
price is a bit high when you look at other mal maison hotels
The rooms were just what we wanted. Stayed in the old wing in the cells. The history of the prison made our stay. Walking along the old prison walkways. Seeing how the prison used to be. Including a cell that is still the same now as it was when it closed.
No dvd in room Main bar was closed. As we were meeting people made as have to make other plans. Bar staff did not know what port was. And had to wait over 10 mins to get served. Tourists can come and go as they please even thou they are not staying at the hotel. £300 per night very over priced will not stay again.
Excellent central Oxford Location in iconic building, high quality Malmaison facilities did not disappoint
Location, Lovely building
Not top notch for the price Not able to open windows in the room, so way too hot. No ventilation in the toilet. Food average.
Location - close to colleges Size of room - generous
Breakfast in a dungeon - oppressive Pay extra for a cooked breakfast - small print on booking form One pack of biscuits (2 biscuits per pack) per room - stingy
Meal (pan pasta)
Everything lovely room luxurious and great breakfast
The traffic in Oxford! Awful it took us an hour to find the hotel even with a sat nav!
The bed was very comfortable and large. The drench shower was as it said and did a wonderful job.
£28 to park the car. Very disappointing cocktails which were redone and tasted just like grapefruit. Breakfast arrived to our room with only one tray filled. I only had the foodstuff they obviously leave in the trays ready to use. What was there we shared and did not enjoy. No instructions for the fancy coffee machine.
