Central for location of concert
Access to NCP car park awful. Very dark room, the most over designed coffee bag ever, very bad shower control-could easily scald, £9 for sandwich, £4 for crisps, £16 for breakfast....worst ever poached eggs, sink wouldn't drain, hair in bath
Size and quality of bathroom
Small bedroom, tiny clothes hanging space, noise from street in the early hours, poor choice for continental breakfast.
The location is awesome - directly across from the Reading train station and a taxi stand. There is even an exceptional Thai restaurant a few blocks away.
Too dark. The intention is sexy but not seeing what you look like doesn't cut it. Additional optional lights in the rooms and baths would be very helpful.
very comfortable bed and room
shower did not work properly (just very hot water)..and bathroom taps were rusty

I really enjoyed my stay it was in a great location, nice facilities and lovely atmosphere. Would love to stay here again.
Staff couldnt do enough for us
A bit different Nice toiletries
Size of room. Size of bed. Bedding. Size of ensuite. Superb shower. Complimentary toiletries. Position of hotel for railway station. Reception staff. Bar staff. Excellent breakfast.
Decor was rather dark which made the corridors in particular rather sombre.
The location next to Reading rail station makes it an ideal stop-over. The staff are very friendly and the service in the restaurant is excellent!
Air conditioning in the room appeared to loose enthusiasm in the middle of the night.
Booked room only. Did not have hotel breakfast but did have dinner in Bistro one night where the food was very good. Superior room deal was good value and bedroom & bathroom well appointed. No view from bedroom window but not to be expected when hotel is located so close to the station and the town centre.
Whilst the lighting throughout the hotel was 'atmospheric' and not a problem for us, I can see why some guests might have a problem with the low level lighting.
My girlfriend and I spent just the one night here and i regret it entirely! I wish i had booked a week! It was a good evening, although we didnt have a chance to get dinner in the bistro, i have heard only good things!
Pay a bit extra for a wonderful superior room - well worth it! Trade up to the full English breakfast. Staff very helpful regarding parking
Temporary roadworks made finding parking difficult
Love Malmaisons, always comfortable rooms & beds and a character not found in other similar priced hotels.
Nice, pleasant staff, lovely relaxing environment.
Room could have been cleaner.
Decor Very friendly and helpful staff Good service Excellent food, good value for money considering its a Malmaison Room size
Only one thing. Room too dark to apply make-up, lack of lit up mirrors in bathroom to compensate.
I didnt manage to get his name but your reception manager was excellent. Very helpful from arrival to departure. Please pass on my thanks to him and his team. Scott Christie.
This hotel is in an excellent position if you are arriving by train. It has beautiful décor and the rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. There is a nice vibe in the bar area, amazing cocktails and lovely food.
Not having another night there !!
Very conveniently located, good food, nice crew, nice room!
Enjoyed the stay. Comfortable room, good bathroom, pleasant reception, relaxing bar
Pillows need to be firmer or mixed. They were too soft.
Good quality at reasonable rates
Power and water off from about 11.30 til 4.30 am then all came back on again :(
There were lots of positives about Malmaison. The decor, the room size, the convenient location to the railway station - the drench shower was fabulous.
Issue to be aware of - when booking in, in order to be allowed your room you not only have to pay in advance in full, you have to pay £50 per night in case of any extras - even if you don't intend using them. This covers off you helping yourself to the minibar and snacks that are so liberally marketed in the room. This may reduce your expected cashflow if you are not expecting this and are planning to spend your food budget elsewhere. You are refunded on leaving the hotel, but the money is still not back in my account yet
Design, style and comfort
Unfortunately there was roadworks right outside the hotel.... Not that the hotel could have fixed that
