Very helpful and friendly staff, location, communal areas (bar etc), fast response lift, being really critical- dirty breakfast cups, lack of car park! Just to say that ordinary double beds are too small for most couples!

Friendly, alert, intelligent, helpful staff. All in all a very good package of facilities (bar, restaurant, bedroom, staff). The prices while in line with similar hotels are, frankly, ludicrously too high. It is the curse of the uk hotel market.

Top drawer. Really enjoyed my stay. I stay away 180 nights a year so believe I understand hotels. You staff were the most professional I have ever come across in this country. In Reception, bar, and restaurant... Your staff selection and training is a credit to you. Didn't have dinner, but breakfast was best ever. Some great touches, it arrived piping hot and the waiter found me Worcester Sauce easily and willingly. 95% of hotels have never heard of it! Overall - excellent. by all means quote me. (Paul Sampson Ignition4Business Ltd) Parking and leaving my car on double yellows while I brought my gear and expensive/exclusive samples to my room, I got a parking ticket in 10 minutes! Can you somehow arrange for a 15 mins checkin /drop off to room zone? Bed was hard. Not comfortable. Breakfast coffee was poor.

The staff were really friendly and very informative and helpful. The price you pay for the breakfast unfortunately doesn't reflect on the plate. Portion sizes could be more generous.

I stay in Leeds quite often on business, this was my first time at Malmaison. The staff were excellent, very helpful and efficient and most of all they were very welcoming and all smiling!! The bar area in the hotel is excellent, very cosy but still elegant. Beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms very modern and well presented. Toiletries were plentiful, much better than the usual mini versions which last almost one wash!! Good location for shopping and nights out and an easy walk from the train station. I will definitely choose Malmaison every time I stay in Leeds from now on.

Convenient for City. Excellent parking in q park. Restaurant/breakfast We stayed Saturday night with a room at the front of the hotel. The music and activity from night clubs went on very late (2-3am). Rooms quite dark. No well lit vanity mirror. Poor choice of draught beer -this is Yorkshire after all!

Staff were very friendly. Impressive on the outside. Not good for a lone female traveller or vegetarians; intimate restaurant area where I didn't feel comfortable on my own. Very dark everywhere and I did have the smallest double room on the floor according to the floor plan so I may be being unfair but it was pokey and badly laid out.

Staff were very helpful and this made our stay at the hotel so much more enjoyable. The chef even prepared a special message "Happy Anniversary" on the tray that the dessert was served on which delighted both of us on this special day. A special thank you for this wonderful gesture together with our thanks' to the waitress who looked after us during that evening she was brilliant. The temperature in the bar and restaurant was too low especially in the evenings. Although we did mention this to the waitress when we first sat down and within half an hour the temperature was ok.

Desire of reception staff to resolve room issues once reported. Friendly, welcoming and good service ethos. My room was freezing cold and the heating system was broken. Room was changed once reported very efficiently. Bar area was also very cold, staff agreed but were unable to resolve. Next morning only piping hot water out of all h & c taps incl toilet! Couldn't shower as a result. Have really enjoyed various malmaisons in the past but think the Leeds hotel is now falling away, is looking tired, and needs a refurb.
