The building has charm and a relaxing atmosphere. All the rooms are well proportioned and the situation is attractive and suited to week-end breaks or family holidays. The Hotel is in serious need of updating and refurbishment. This needs to be done without losing the period charm that is so attractive. In such a building this could not be done cheaply - but really is becoming very necessary.

I liked that it wasn't a bland, plastic faceless hotel chain. The food was excellent, the staff obliging and courteous. It's just 500 yards from the sea shore, and within car hopping distance of all North Norfolk's attractions. There's a rich history to the hotel too. The decor has seen better days and the furnishings were a bit bric-a- brac in places, but that lent it a faded charm. Shower was poor and poky.

Charming People, and lovely place, with huge potential, but I guess it's difficult for proprietor owned businesses to look as swish as their corporate competition.I'd love to give these people top marks, because they are nice people. But sadly in most cases the mark is missed. The hotel does some-what attract persons in the late afternoon of their lives (possibly even the spot is about to appear in the middle of the Tv and the national anthem is about to play), and therefore may deter a generation with high expectations (and more spending power). Place could do with a big bonfire, a good coat of paint, a decent bar with proper beer (lets face it it shouldn't be difficult the local beer is some of the best), a decent menu, but with proper ingredients, local quality stuff.

Room was comfortable, plenty of off road parking space, quiet during night. Excellent breakfast. Its an old building but the uneven floor (bathroom), other public rooms gave the hotel its own charm. 2 minute drive to North Norfolk Railway. Lack of shower in bathroom. Investment required in an old building makes this omission perhaps understandable. (Some rooms do have shower so book early). TV only had 4 channels - believe digital on the way in this area - what changes will come about then ?

The food was very good with a wide variety on the evening menu. The hotel looks a little tired due mainly to its age.

Novel and unusual. I particularly liked the setting in Weybourne and the surrounding countryside. It does need to be modernised however, for me to be able to recommend it to others.

Convenient position for walks (E.G. cliff top) also for bird watching/nature exploration. Cleanliness was questionable. The place is quite shabby and run-down. Facilities, bar, lounge are very dated and not at all inviting.

The Maltings Hotel has a unique charm of its own. It's a family hotel with a difference - the two brothers who own it have an interesting story to tell if you take the time to find out. Weybourne is a delightful spot on the Norfolk Coast - the sea being about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the hotel. It's convenient for walking the coastal path or visiting other nearby resorts such as Wells-next-the sea and Cley.

Although it was on the coast road, it was quiet with plenty of parking. The location was really good, near Holt, Sheringham and Cromer, and we were able to walk to the beach. Could do with a make-over. It has a lovely restaurant and bar which could do with kerb appeal to say 'Look we are here come and eat'. There was no shower in our room, which would have been good.

Not a bad location short walk to beach. Shame the beach is all rocks not even sand. Small quiet village. Old hotel far from up to date with the most simple of amenities. Poor fixtures and fittings very uncomfortable. You had to pay extra for a full English breakfast which at best was maybe half a breakfast. This you would consider though due to the extremely poor effort that was the free continental breakfast. Very dated hotel.

Our stay at the Maltings was an enjoyable one, we were made very welcome by our host and our rooms were of a decent size, clean and had all the facillaties you would expect. This is not a difficult one, when you arrive for the first time The Maltings is a very impressive sight, once inside, (and I know the owner will agree with me, he is a well travelled intellegent person) the place is "a bit tired" but do not let this put you off, I would stay here again, my only problem is that for £60 per night for my single room and £80 per night for Mum & Dads double room, I would not expect to pay extra for a cooked breakfast (£10.00) continental was incl.

Excellent food and presentation. Friendly staff/proprietor. Hotel seemed quieter than on previous visits and it felt as though standards had slipped. Pointed out a dirty fork to waitress at dinner and discarded a similar one at breakfast. My wife similarly was not happy about the cleanliness of her cup at breakfast. The place appears to be lacking investment although the entrance and car park have been repaired and tidied up. Window frame in dining room is very rotten and the bedroom with it's excellent four poster bed was very dark so that it was impossible to read unless sitting next to the window in bright daylight. The en-suite was a let down with walls lined with painted hardboard and a toilet cistern that was difficult to operate properly. I realise that the economic situation has probably hit the business badly but a modest amount of investment could improve this hotel greatly. Comments made about deterioration of the kitchen roof suggested that maintenance is purely on a "fire fighting" basis rather than on upgrading the hotel. Such a pity!

Great location for visiting the Norfolk coast, brilliant family room good value for money and a good selection on the menu of the restaurant. The rooms were a bit old fashion and would need redecorating.

The quietness. The room had cobwebs and dirt in corners, the shower had little power and the screens leaked, and it all looked like the rest of the building in great need of painting and redecoration. Everywhere showed neglect and a lack of care and interest. The building has character but did not have the warm and friendly feeling that this should have bought.
