Wifi. Nice staff. Good food. Booking price. The nature around the hotel.
Distance to supermarket. But then again, I was only there for two days because of a missed flight.
The overall cleanliness and comfort for weary travellers who want to eat sleep and get on their way
We couldn't find any staff at reception anytime we tried and they were not very attentive in the bar or restaurant. Not really bad but we feel they just need a bit more training to make the customer feel wanted.
Being ignored at the desk and made to wait on check in and out. The room was so tiny that you had no floor space and you couldn't have two people moving around the room at once.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Restaurant food was good quality and value for money. convenient for manchester airport Lovely swimming pool felt really luxurious.
Bedrooms were very small.
Very clean & comfortable Great location for the airport Staff very friendly Good parking Good nights sleep
We asked for a room in a quiet section but were placed next to the wedding party guests who partied loudly and woke us up/kept us awake for hours when we had a 3 hour journey the next day. I had to ask the night porter THREE times to sort it out! The bed was too small and so uncomfortable. We also booked this 3-4 months prior to arrival and yet were told we had to have a twin room which, the smaller bed was awful! Worst hotel stay ever!
I ordered a hamburger because I felt that no one could possibly mess that up but hey, guess what - I was wrong. It had the consistency of chipboard, cost thirteen quid and was inedible. No-one will ask you if you enjoyed your meal because they know the answer.
Breakfast was ten quid (13 if ordered at the breakfast bar rather than reception) and consisted of deep fried sausages and bacon, eggs that would be better used as frisbees, beans that had glooped into a mass of protesting slouch, mushrooms that tasted of vinegar or some such yuckiness and a aftertaste of grease from the whole thing. The marmalade was okay but then they didn't cook that.
Free wifi. Easy drive to airport.
I had a couple of bad experiences here when it was the holiday inn but being under a new company you would expect it to have been improved on but it hasnt. The rooms are tiny, the hotel is noisy and in need of refurbishment. The staff and the bar are nice but the staff turned the lights out on us to get us to leave rather than just come and ask us to move.
The location was ideal for an overnight stop as we were visiting a local destination
Everything besides the room was an extra on the bill, ie swimming pool. A bit like an easy jet policy!.
Breakfast, not bad, but could have been better quality
Near to airport, nice staff, and very comfortable bed
Crammy rooms Hopeless mattress Location too tedious
Location to airport
Difficulty trying to book hotels transport on arriving at airport.
A fair distance way from the airport
I have used various Brittania hotels and all have been 'value for money.
Having booked in and given a room card and 'sleeve' I, very mistakenly, assumed that I could use the card/sleeve in the bar. The explanation was I wasn't able to, and bizarrely I needed one of two different ink stamps which I could get at Reception. This sounds so last century.
Even though I asked for a wake-up call I did not receive one. Good job I set my mobile phone alarm as a back-up. Otherwise I would have missed my flight from Manchester. This is pretty unforgivable really. Not staying here again..!!!
Fairly close to airport and about 1.5 miles from the aviation viewing park. Rural setting and next to some nature trails. PC with internet available for use in reception, free to guests. Free car parking while resident - car park permit readily available from reception.
This is perhaps an older hotel and some of the carpets and paintwork are showing their age. Bathroom a bit small and not really anywhere to put anything but it was very clean and must have been refurbished not so long ago - new tiles and so on. It is not the cheapest hotel around but is still reasonably priced.
Friendly young staff, even in the early hours of the morning; comfortable basic room with Freeview and a double bed; it was a bonus to have a comfy night's sleep and decent tea and coffee facilities in the room after two weeks of sofa surfing and backpacking; very good value for money when compared with other hotels near Manchester Airport
Distance from airport - if flying make sure you research local taxi companies before you go; I got a black cab at midnight from Manchester Airport to the hotel and they have fixed rates of £22 for a 10 minute journey, but I was so tired that I didn't care. The hotel rang a taxi for me to get to the airport train station the following day, and it was only £10
Close location to the airport. We had a flight the day after and needed somewhere local to rest. It did all those qualities.
I think if I had to stay longer the room would have been a bit too small. All staff were very helpful.
Staff were excellent
Size of beds - supposed double was by best a large single - no sleep at all due to width of bed - people banging on door at 3am not great for a good nights sleep!
The ability to get a hot meal at a late hour
Decoration, building looked tired and in need of a new coat of paint. Room was clean and tidy, but it would have been nice to get into bed from both sides and not to have to climb over the bed to get in
Used Booking.com and paid for a room type and extras that the hotel do NOT offer!!!!!
dirty bar area, worn carpets
Everything really. Reception staff were very helpful. Long way to my room but I suppose someone has to have those rooms. I am 67 though. Nice lobby area. I was on my own but felt comfortable having a drink in the bar area whilst waiting for my son. The menu looked good although I didn't eat there in the end.
Well when my son and his girlfriend did arrive we decided to have a drink in the bar. My son ordered the drinks and my Gin and Tonic was just terrible. I had already had a gin and tonic while I was waiting and it was terrific. But the second one was like drinking warm water. I returned to the bar and explained to the man behind the bar that I couldn't drink it. What he did next was I think excellent. I didn't get his name. He asked me what gin I preferred and gave me a most lovely gin with a bottle of tonic and I thoroughly enjoyed it. He did this without any trouble and was only to happy to help me.
Even though we had booked weeks in advance they over booked the hotel and at 2am had to turn around a dirty room! Room was truely filthy, Toilet hadnt been cleaned, mould in the shower, cobwebs on the ceiling and dirty bed sheets! - Worse thing is there was no manager to complain to because our flight landed at 2am. So we just had to lump it and deal with a very young night porter. The hotel is actually just outside the taxi zone. This means they can charge what they like in a fare, We paid £35.00 for a 2minutes of travel but had no choice.
