Loved the helpful and friendly attitude of the staff, and the comfortable room, especially the bed. This was a shopping trip and it is an ideal location within a short walk of the main shopping area.
Had upgrade to triple room from single, excellent. My 3rd visit. Breakfast fantastic, staff very efficient and attentive. Early availability of hot breakfast a boon. Ideal hotel for G live venue & any business appointment in Guildford.
Perhaps a little expensive.
Staff were outstanding, especially desk staff nickname of Angie....she helped us in a very time sensitive matter on our visit. Breakfast was also outstanding....hot foods were terrific.
There were some late night holiday parties....could hear the music some on the party...not the second one....staff made sure to make the sound adjustments.
Location. Excellent for shopping and evening
Noise in front of hotel from designated smoking area up to midnight.
Staff, location, on-site free parking
Breakfast too expensive, so declined bad got cheaper in town 100 yards away. Bathroom sink very small. Pillows uncomfortable.
The location is great, at the top of the High Street. Better yet, our room was large and comfortable. We really enjoyed our late lunch in the bar. The staff at the desk and in the bar were friendly and helpful. We were lucky to get the last available parking place, at no charge. After one night at the Mandolay, we moved to the Radisson Blu to join family and friends for a wedding. We much preferred the Mandolay.
Our only potential complaint would have been if the free parking lot had been full, as it almost was. Otherwise, no complaints at all.
Reasonable location for a walk into town.
Was upgraded to 'executive', but room really didn't justify that description, being small and cramped. First towel I picked up was stained, there was a stain on the carpet too - I didn't dare pull back the cover on the double bed. Not being informed that it would take 30 minutes before I would get my full English breakfast. That full English was neither large nor exceptional when it arrived - I would have been happy with either to justify the price. The 'continental' breakfast was equally uninspired. Some of the uniforms were tatty. This might seem unduly harsh, but the hotel literature gushes on about high quality, I didn't notice it.
location was good for the town
Room was tiny
Staff were v. helpful, room was upgraded, food in bar was good, stored luggage, room to a high standard, excellent shower, lots of fluffy towels, wifi free throughout - all good, couldn't fault it.
Bit of a trek from the main railway station.
Great location, nice room, enjoyed the bar and free parking. Easy walk into town and staff were helpful and pleasant.
Breakfast is weird! I only wanted eggs benedict off the ala carte menu and a coffee but for some bizzare reason you can't do that without ordering the all you can eat buffet for £15 first (which I didn't want) and then order the eggs for £7. totalling £22!!! I gave up in the end... It was all too difficult!!!
Lovely building, central location, effeicient staff, good free wifi nice to have a window that opened rather than air con.
Lumpy, soft mattress meant a poor night's sleep. There was a gouge in the wall behind the bedhead and hole in the wall that ran down the side of the electrical socket - potentially dangerous. Extraction fan in shower room was constantly on, distracting.
bar restaurant and room
Location close to train station (not the main station, but one with convenient rail links to London and other towns in Surrey), staff very friendly, rooms impeccably clean, beds very comfortable, love the redecoration. Free Wifi is a bonus.
Smaller than what an American would expect, but I am used to it. Room service food is decent, but nothing special for the price. Located in a more residential area of Guildford, but the high street and its' shops and restaurants is only a short walk away
Good, comfortable and clean room. Food and service OK
Dick Turpin is alive and well and resident behind the bar In this day and age, sky sports is a must- even if only in the bar
Walking distance into Guildford is ideal. We stayed two nights but did not eat in the hotel. Ladies at Reception were helpful as was the porter. Good to be able to park outside in hotel grounds at no cost. More places for large suitcases would be helpful.
The bathroom was tiny and the basin minute. The distance from the room to reception was great and one had to go up and down flights of stairs to get from the room to reception. Until we discovered the fire exist to the street which made everything easier.
I liked the cleanliness of the place
cooked breakfast should be readily be available with visitors chooseing what they like, not having to order, also staff to be aking how many for examples eggs would you like. Make it avialable and let people choose what they want. 15.00 for breakfast is not a joke
Modern and clean in an excellent location.
Beautiful building, comfortable rooms and beds, little details like the lime and mint water at the entrance, friendly staff. Wonderful stay!
Room was clean and comfortable.
We were in the coach house annex which was ok but the front door was more or less always left unlocked. I did inform you that my husband is registered blind so this was a good room for us on the ground floor however it was not good when we came back and a motor bike was parked on the pathway right by the front door. I don't know who it belonged to whether it was a resident or a member of staff but it should not have been there. If we had a wheelchair it would have been very very difficult.
Location for centre of Guildford was excellent, we booked a standard double but on arrival were given a junior suite which was lovely, very spacious with lovely decor. Very pleasant stay.
The hotel parking is very limited if u do not reserve and pay for a space, was unable to park on our 2nd night.
bedroom on suite very very small, also walk to reception long.
The first night we stayed had a private function. There was no control over the noise level from other guests and the clearing up by hotel staff was extremely noisy. The second night we were disturbed again by drunked guests in their room and arguing with hotel staff. Awful stay
bathroom a bit too bijou! ie tiny
location great, bed great very clean
Executive room is nothing special Should include breakfast 15 pound per person rip off
