Staff serving breakfast, very helpfull. Very comfortable bed.
Angela (would only give one of our party an early check in despite the hotel not that busy) James (Not very bright, should perhaps consider a career outside the pulic sector where he does not require any social skills) Breakfast (Not the best quality)
The staff were helpful and informative. Rooms spotlessly clean and comfortable. Food was very nice, good portions and presented well. Good location for exploring the surrounding area.
Excellent value for money Staff very helpful going out of their way to make us welcome. Facilities spa so relaxing Food excellent would stay again at this hotel
Staff were lovely couldnt do enough gor me, bedroom was beautiful, cosy and clean. Food delicious, a really great night in the little bar. Its my 2nd time in 5 months will be returning. Thank you
Loved it all
the bedroom and bathroom were clean and comfortable
the main building could do with a major redecoration in all public spaces
Big room for 60 quid lots of space and classic furniture. Good service from friendly staff.
Bit musty in the room at first but that's just nit picking. Enjoyed the bar and breakfast.
Beforehand the staff dealt with a special request efficiently. Whilst we stayed at the hotel, they were all attentive and helpful.
that they found me an alternative room nearby to overcome our disappointment with what they were offering on the day. From past stays this is normally an excellent hotel
it was their last available room and it showed.
Everything about this hotel was perfect.
There is nothing not to like about this hotel.
After attending a wedding nearby it was lovely to return to a nice clean and comfortable room. The room was a little too warm however there was a fan provided which was ideal! Staff were friendly.
The price was a little steep for the room itself. I booked a room with a four poster bed, however it wasn't much of a four poster bed, pretty old and rickety. We paid £100, and this didn't include breakfast. Myself and my partner hadn't really researched this hotel before our stay. Through the night we were woken by strange houses such as knocks on the walls and door. Specifically the right wall which is the entrance to the hotel therefore no one was staying in a room next to us. We thought this was very strange. Once home we researched the hotel and found a few haunting stories. It's safe to say if we had known about this we would never have stayed. However it made for a great story to tell the family!
the history of the building its comfort space and gardens. the staff were attentive but not intrusive and also available for a chat which was really nice. Food great service great and we loved the relaxed atmosphere
such a minor thing but more milk on the room tray ( I love my coffee )
location and quietness
old carpets shabby paintwork hall stairs and corridor
Excess noise from room above due to a very flimsy ceiling.
Pool, sauna & steam room were great. Staff were friendly & attentive. Extremely good value for money.
Shower didn't work properly - possibly low water pressure
Nothing to report
selection of beers - no real ales wifi none in rooms and was poor in reception
Staff Very welcoming, rooms beautiful & comfortable will stay again
Comfortable Clean Friendly
The location was ideal for us and the hotel had all we needed, including the use of the spa facilities. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
Not really the hotels fault but the weather was extremely hot and there was absolutley no air in the bedroom. Despite there being 3 showers, none worked beyond a spit! And the toilet was hard to flush.
History and age of the house, ease of parking. Also close to Eden Arms which had fabulous food.
Knew wifi not available in rooms but it was also very weak in public area and difficult to open up websites.
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Nice surroundings.
Slamming doors from stair way. Bathroom noises from nearby rooms. No breakfast included in room price.
A very good one-night stay with good facilities in a historic building.
The room had a slight smell with the window open due to the air-con outlet.
Very clean, food was delicious, staff very friendly. Particularly loved the outside space at the spa where you could sit outside and sunbathe in your swimming costume. Considering the gorgeous weather we are having, there are lots of outside seating areas. Very private too.
Décor was a bit shabby, could be updated, but did not detract from the marvellous medieval character of the place.
The staff were friendly and helpful the building is a very old creaky floorboard kind of place with bags of character, I loved it.
the decor and furniture was getting a bit 'tired'
