Smugglers Haunt Hotel is a 300-year old building in the charming fishing town of Brixham. It offers bed and breakfast accommodation a 2-minute walk from Brixham Harbour.
Score from 121 reviews Very good
It's a pub, not a bijou hotel, and the decor is tired. Take it or leave, because this is where the locals (and the dog) come of an evening like they used to do in every English village. But everything is clean and comfortable and new for guests at the Inn.
Everything that could be expected had been thoughtfully provided for Guests, and we really felt we were welcome. Large car park, always a must in rural Cornwall. The evening grill was superbly cooked and arrived in a trice, despite the pub doing a roaring trade for a Monday, yet even that was outdone by Linda's breakfast offerings!
Food, room, atmosphere, staff. We'll worth a visit for a very relaxing break, away from it all!
Value for money. good dinner menu, friendly staff and perfect location - very welcoming
We had mislaid my husbands jacket and so called to see if we had left it there.they called us back to say they had found it and kindly sent it back to us.they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful through out our stay.food was excellent and plentiful.
We happened to drop on when they had a quiz night and special offer of two main meals plus a bottle of wine for £25.
No WiFi provision in rooms.
Bedroom small but nice large bathroom
Great evening meal and good pub quiz
Friendly .warm and welcomingv
Very close for a visit to Greenway - Agatha Christie's home
Everything - especially the breakfast. Fantastic location.
great place to stay , very friendly staff who were more than happy to help, fantastic food in the restaurant , good beer at the bar , a warm and comfortable room and a wonderful breakfast in the morning . we have already recommended it and will be staying again
Two things only: the shower was poor; it had the strength of a watering can. There was a bad draught from the window just above the bed that penetrated if the curtains open.
Linda was a warm and friendly host. Breakfast superb - I could choose my own combination each day as do not eat meat and the portion was huge! Bed really comfy. Location was great - good for Greenway and Coleton Fishacre and surrounding towns. Wifi worked well with only the odd glitch. Room small but this was reflected in the price.
Given what I paid, few complaints! There are two: the shower was pretty bad, like a watering can; there was a bad draught from the window directly above the bed that would have bothered me if I had been staying longer. Small room but that very much reflected in price.
This was good value. An unpretentious but comfortable spot. Linda was a warm and friendly host. Breakfast superb and I could pick my own combination each day. Bed dead comfy. Wifi worked with only the odd glitch. Great location for seeing Greenway and Coleton Fishacre and handy for other nearby towns.
nothing really except at breakfast ,we were served after a couple who came in after us but the breakfast itself was very good and tasty
the room was surperbly clean and location lovely staff also nice
Party in bar below room gave a little bit off noise but not so bad.
Lovely comfortable room
Location, easy access to Brixham, but plenty of parking. Own key to quiet back access from car park.Room comfortable, clean and warm.
The only niggle was that the shower was not very hot.
The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and delightful with lovely views over the countryside. The food was excellent with a very varied menu. The log fire was very welcoming to sit around and always alight.
nothing to dislike.
Food very good and plenty of it. The breakfast was excellent. All the staff friendly and very helpful. Room keep clean and tidy. Recommend.
The Manor Inn was warm and welcoming, and it was great being able to have a drink and enjoy reasonably priced good food in the bar, before turning in ( just a walk up the stairs). The bedroom facilities were very good and clean, and we had a great cooked breakfast in the morning. The staff were very friendly.
Freindly staff, very welcoming great location
Being pestered by Booking.com
The treatment I received from the staff especially at breakfast and the comfort of the room.
With the room being compact there was no where to really relax after dinner, on a couple of nights we sat in the small bar where the chairs are slightly larger otherwise it was a case of retiring to the bed. Minor point because I stayed an extra night.
Linda and her breakfast, the rest of the team were also very good. The important thing was that I didn't pay a lot so I didn't expect a lot so was not surprised to find that the room was quite compact, however did have a peek at another room and that was very big. Very clean modern bathroom. A pleasure to spend time in a very busy village pub.
Bar music generally went on to 11.0 p.m.,and this noise penetrated to our bedroom(no 4),making an early night quite difficult
staff friendliness and food quality
