wifi is not much good if you stay at the back of the hotel.
Courteus helpful staff
Finding it. I should have got more detailed directions. My satnav took me to the M4
Old fashioned charm. Lovely friendly and attentive staff. Spacious and comfortable room/bed. Clean bathroom. Nice dinner.
Very basic room facilities with no "extras" to reflect the style of the hotel and the image the hotel advertises. E.g. no proper drinking glasses in the room; no good quality bath/shower soap, bubble-bath, etc. Old and small TV. Meals and wines were far too expensive. Dinner for 2 cost £85 and put us off eating there again.
Friendly staff. Good parking.
Restaurant closed on first night but a nice lady made me a toasted sandwich - later found out it cost £8! Didn't use restaurant other nights because too expensive.
The room was very clean, and the employees well trained, polite, efficient and attentive. The grounds are a picture and the restaurant provides an very pleasant ambience for dining. But for an encounter with the owner this hotel would rate five stars and be highly recommended, and I am certain that providing there is no cause for complaint, your stay will be most relaxing and enjoyable.
We ordered a double but were put in a triple without explanation. There was a sewing needle left on the floor next to the bed while the TV was very small and reception on BBC channels unwatchable. The owner rather than just apologising for the inconvenience, approached us while we were ordering a £60 (plus drinks) dinner to harangue first my wife and then me about the faulty TV reception, arguing that the main channel worked and besides it wasn't part of the booking anyway. When I asked him to please stop arguing with us about it, he just kept going, apparently genuinely outraged that we should consider this a problem worth mentioning. My wife left the room in tears and I had to cancel the dinner. He later phoned our room at 9:30 in the evening to ask us to leave the hotel because he was upset that we might give the hotel a poor review, despite my reassurance that any review would be honest, accurate and fair. The owner runs a beautiful hotel with a tremendous professional staff, but on this occasion behaved like a bully who sadly appears to lack the deft customer relations skills of his excellent staff. In the morning we were not charged for our room, however this was not an act of contrition on the part of the hotel management but rather disappointingly a pointed act of contempt. A disappointing, but one would hope an atypical experience for customers of this establishment.
The staff were personable, wanting to make our short stay as comfortable and welcoming as possible. The food was excellent - I like to think I am a good cook, I was well impressed by the seasoning, freshness and presentation of our Saturday evening meal.
The patio furniture needed a good clean and although the grounds were well looked after, the flags needed a good power wash. The bed was very firm and would have benefited from a thicker quilted mattress protector.
The evening meal was excellent as was the hot breakfast at a reasonable price.
It felt like I was visiting family in their country estate. A relaxing stay in a huge room with excellent food. Garden and views lovely . Really enjoyed the drink after work in the autumn sun shine
Nothing I didn't like
Very friendly reception staff. Suitably friendly overnight guy. Happy cleaning staff. Adequate continental breakfast included. Comfortable bed.
The treck up and down several lots of stairs to the room. The length of time that it took hot water to get to the shower & sink in the morning. The Freeview on the TV wasn't stable.
Food and dinning room of high quality. Room basic but clean.
Difficult to find between junctions of M4. Better signage close to Hotel would assist. Some noise from M4.No soap in bathroom.
I assumed at £100 a night it would include a full cooked breakfast as standard. I booked this for my mum's wedding night. I was disappointed that the happy couple were asked to pay an additional £14 for breakfast. A wedding present which turned out wrongly! Beware
unfortunately very clairaudient
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, basically if you asked for it you got it with a smile, old fashioned manners, no false "have a nice day" rubbish. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious. Excellent restaurant for evening meal
Bit disappointed in breakfast as anything cooked is extra, although cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast and jam plentiful, we asked for poached egg on toast (extra £5) and got 1 slice of toast with 2 eggs) didn`t look too attractive
Friendly staff and charming grounds. Room was cosy and well equipped.
Only small issue was loud music during a nighttime event we were not aware of at time of booking but it didn't disturb us once we got to our room.
The location was very good, even being so close to the M4.
I felt for £100 a night I was expecting the full Welsh Breakfast to be included within the price and the quality of the rooms to be slightly better. If you compared it to other hotels I have stayed at that price yet have been a lot better.
Friendly staff (checked in very late), clean and comfortable room
A little too expensive
The staff their service was great and very welcoming you were welcomed with a smile and genuine interest in your daily activities. You felt like you had come home at the end of a busy day. The food was excellent served beautifully and with very helpful friendly staff car parking was available and the local bus number 27 was 5 min walk and frequent service into Cardiff. It was a perfect stay which I hope to repeat next month. Much better than staying at the big unfriendly corporate hotels in the city centre. Well done manor parc see you soon.
Nothing what was there not to like. Wish I had found this place sooner
Nice room with good bathroom
Breakfast wasn't the best continental only included cereal and plain yoghurt. Cooked option available but overpriced
Quiet and comfortable
Too near M4
Excellent hotel rooms very comfortable . food excellent and service first class. Staff very friendly and great value for money considering it was so close to Cardiff city centre. look forward to staying again.
Morning staff were friendly and we had to change our room which was done with no arguments
What is included as breakfast is misleading as b&b you would expect cooked breakfast as standard not at an additional charge of £7. Only cereal, toast and some fuit was included.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. Beautiful location and room 4 was amazing
The service was outstanding
