we had a wonderful stay at the hotel.the rooms are comfortable, the surroundings peaceful, staff friendly and helpful, the restaurant excellent, the menu very good, food excellent. the only minus was that there was no fridge nor safe in the room. We highly recommend this hotel. no fridge in the room, thus no place to store medicines, which are heat sensitive

The friendly staff, the extensive menu, the golf course and the value Tap water is disgraceful!!! Tempted to take a sample back to work with me to test for chlorine. This meant we had to buy bottled water to make tea in our room. Unfortunately, bottled water is expensive in uk as oppose to European countries that have to buy water.

The facilities were very good at the Manor of Groves. The Hotel has a modern feel to it and the room we had was spacious and well decorated. We stayed there as we had a function to go to. We didn't retire until 3am and knowing we didn't have to checkout until 11am was lovely especially as we normally are woken by two young children. At 8:45 we were woken by housekeeping hoovering in the hallway and bashing the skirting boards. This went on for approx 15 minutes. We and I know other guests were not impressed. We then went to breakfast for 9:40 and there wasn't that much left. In particular 2 hash browns, and no sausages. There weren't any glasses for fruit juices either. After asking for sausages they weren't sure if there were anymore. When staying at a hotel I look forward to a good cooked breakfast especially after a night out but felt on this occassion was let down and the staff didn't seem to make a great effort to meet needs. When we checked out there was a meal, desert and drinks on our bill that shouldn't have been but the receptionist removed them.

We arrived at the hotel on Friday 16th September for my nephew's wedding. The whole experience from beginning to end was first class, the organisation of the wedding, the food served at the wedding, the location and most of all the staff, they are a credit to the hotel, they worked so hard and always with a smile on their faces, they are to be commended. Loved everything!

We thought the staff were very helpful on our arrival, the hotel was relaxed and informal, the grounds and building itself are beautiful, and our room was very comfortable. We had a wonderful weekend and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The grounds were very beautiful. It was unfortunate that we had spent the previous night in a lovely friendly hotel in France so perhaps the comparison is unfair. We live in France and are used to a welcoming smile when you arrive and a little conversation. The Manor of Groves is impersonal and business like. The room was nice and big but we wondered who had designed the layout - it is a bit strange - especially the huge wooden structure around the bed for apparently no purpose that blocks out the bedside lights. It was quite difficult to get ready for the wedding as the room had so little light.

Good sized pool and spa bath in the health club No mobile phone service in the basement rooms. Another room offered was next to the noisy outlet ducting with a view of multiple bins. Shame as the room itself was nice, if rather overheated.

The rooms were nice and large and importantly were very quiet at night, despite there being a lot of people in the hotel. There was nothing that I didn't like. During our stay the men in our party wanted to listen to the football scores and watch the rugby. There unfortunately wasn' t a TV readily available but a member of the staff did make one available, which was good.

reasonable room size, good gym, pool and grounds. Staff were very helpful and opened a bar for our group of four couples. bars not open, no sky tv for sport etc -- for a golf club hotel, many of the guests are going to be sport nuts!

Staff very helpful, room service excellent even though there was a large private function going on during our stay. Room clean, bed comfortable, cooked breakfast superb and delivered to our room. TV and furniture in room a little tired and out of date. Breakfast half hour late in the morning, although reception did phone ahead to warn us this would be so.

the room was very nice and big, the use of the spa facilities was a bonus and relaxing and the breakfast was lovely. we felt the bathroom needed modernising and the water didn't drain away fast enough down both the sink and bath.

“The location was good - for us, reception fine, the room had every amenity we required and was very comfortable, all good value for the (reasonable) price we paid. The (apparently inexpensive) menu made us wish we had no dining commitment for the evening and the bar itself was pleasant. The breakfast was excellent.Throughout the staff were friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay again.” Ed, Bristol |
