The setting was lovely
The breakfast wasn't very hot
Lovely location with lots of walks and views
Gym facilities, nice bathroom, quiet location
Breakfast just ok, expensive dinner menu for what it is.
Went for first swim in 25 years, - lovely pool and gym. Friendly, helpful staff. Good lunch in beautiful surroundings. Good ambience.
A bit of noise until late with wedding party. We would have liked to walk further within hotel grounds
NIce local and a nice peaceful relaxing time using the Pool
Steam room not hot enough
The mattress was hard as nails and the walls were to thin
Thin walls and heard neighbours all night long.
The Spa relaxing, Catherine on reception was wonderful and a pleasure to deal with. Gorgeous grounds, upgraded as there was a noisy hen party one night brilliant service
Helpful staff Lovely breakfast Wonderful pool
Long walk to bedroom
Could hear the bathroom next door, either shower or extractor fan at 11pm going for 45 minutes sounded like a helicopter outside the room. The Smoke detector flashed all night long.
A beautiful location on the Surrey Hills, with lovely Spa facilities.
The setting of the hotel is very pleasant. It also had a warm, comfortable feel to it. Breakfast was excellent.
Bit of a hike to bedroom with 2 flights of stairs which is not good with a heavy suitcase. Evening meal was disappointing with an outdated menu.
Location, views, room-size, comfort.
Sub-standard breakfast choice - no pastries, nuts/seeds, herbal teas. No offer of help to carry case to room.
Pool, gym and location is perfect. Wonderfully located nr Newlands Corner beautiful views over Surrey and beyond
Local non hotel residents using foul language in the bar encouraged by staff, rather than putting a stop to it.
Swimming pool and jacuzzi. Rural location. Friendly staff and restaurant on site.
Ouir room was upstairs, downstairs, upstairs, and had only one exit in event of fire. Fire regulations on wall were out of date and asked guests to be careful not to fall asleep while smoking, despite the fact rooms were labelled non smoking. This ambiguity worried me especial;ly as our room was quite remote from main paert of hotel.
all the stairs! Understandably an old hotel!
Most of the staff where lovely Aquasana is the best asset
Poor standard of decoration - hotel looked tired Menu limited Bed very uncomfortable and small for a double No lift Restaurant felt like a pub
Swimming pool & leisure facilities
Reception staff were aloof and indifferent. We were never acknowledged when passing through the reception area. The room was tired looking and small. For 2 out of 3 nights we stayed there were wedding parties being held.We could hear the disco in our room til midnight, then a lot of room doors slamming in the early hours. Because of the weddings we were not able to use the lounge in the evenings so no free WiFi as advertised. I think guests should be warned when booking if there is a wedding party on. Although breakfast was reasonably priced it was buffet style and the heaters were not always lit under the hot food containers, consequently the food was not very warm. Tea & coffee were served in vacuum jugs, tea was stewed and neither was very warm. The carpet in the bar and restaurant was very very dirty.
Ambiance Staff Leisure facilities
Quality of the mattress
Pool, spa facilities
Dirty spider filled rooms. Broken toilet. Food not of a high standard and little choice for a non meat eater
We asked for a quiet room and given what we asked for.
The decor was very tired. The evening menu was very limited but the steak meal we had was very good.
Friendly staff Nice pool Large rooms Fabulous Wedding pagoda and gardens
Shower wasn't powerful Given card linked to your room to purchase drinks ,food with , but when attending the wedding reception you couldn't use it in the 2 bars inside and out of the room. you had to go downstairs to the main bar.... Rather annoying !!!! No phone signal available
We attended the hotel last weekend as part of our wedding anniversary , we had a fantastic weekend away and the staff were great, it was very busy with three weddings taking place that we observed, yet staff still had time for all the guests , the facilities including pool and gym were very clean and we would recommend a stay there to anyone
We felt that when attending the restaurant for meals that staff would have been better off showing guests to tables as it was a bit of a free for all,
Room as light & airy.
Tinned fruit for breakfast
Location , and availability during a local busy period due to University activities
Long trek to room . Poor breakfast.Poor value. NOT A Typical Country House Hotel. All done on the "Cheap"
