Husband thought the pool and spa was lovely. Nice grounds. Friendly staff - gave us a room when we arrived early but warned it was above where a party would be taking place - no problem for us as we were attending a wedding.
Room was a bit old fashioned - not a great bed. Thin walls - we could hear the conversation of the couple in the next room! Didn't disturb us, just made us feel a bit self conscious!
Embiance. Spa facilities
Food (dinner) adequate but not quite up to the standard one might expect from such a venue
The area is really beautifyl. The place has a lot of potential.
All the spa services closed very early, didn't have a change to try anything. Everything was a bit overpriced.
The leisure facilities at the manor were superb, lovely pool, sauna, steam and very helpful staff, as were the hotel receptionist and breakfast staff.
The rooms are so dated, we had mould on the ceiling, a leaking radiator, broken bathroom bin and towel rail, all little noticeable things that add up! The bed was too soft, which would be a difference opinion in everyone in the world, grounds and hotel were generally run down, such a shame when you have such good staff fronting the business
leisure facilities. secluded location. staff all very attendative, nothing to much trouble
no phone signals on either 3g or vodaphone
Clean room .
Very dated and tired...heating didn't work in bedroom or seemingly downstairs... Definitely not worth £204 for two nights...
Pool, the service, the food, basically everything
The wedding on the Saturday Night were a little noisy and there was fighting outside our room !!
LEISURE CENTRE WAS CLEAN & TIDAY. VERY GGOOD!
SHORTAGE OF CHIPS WITH THE STEAK IN THE RESTAURANT. I THOUGHT THERE SHOULD BE MORE, FOR THE PRICE PAID!!
The individuality of the building. So nice to be away from a bland hotel chain that could be anywhere. I love the fact that it's like a house that is now a hotel. Lots of normal stairs and proper keys. I felt very comfortable here. If you like bland hotels where you need to swipe your key to get the lift to work you might not like it here but I did.
It's down as pet friendly but On phoning to confirm this I was told dogs are not allowed in any of the rooms. She spent the ight in the car but it was not ideal, I'd like to know for future reference if dogs are welcomed.
Location of the hotel
Friendly staff all round.
The room was cold, the central heating didnt work-portable heater provided, also the extractor fan didnt work in the bathroom. The towels were worn out.
Comfortable bed. Gym and pool were very nice and quiet when I went. Staff were friendly.
Location - a long way from Guildford and no public transport close by. Noise on Friday night - there was a wedding and the music was loud until 12 even though we were on the second floor. Children from the wedding running around both in the bar and the corridor outside the bedroom.
Staff were very friendly and the hotel was lovely and in a peaceful area.
The bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the room could use a lick of paint. There was peeking paint in the bathroom. The walls between rooms are paper thin which meant when the small child in the room behind us decided to wake up at 4am we were awake from 4am
The staff were very pleasant .
The tv kept playing up . Quite dated furniture . Taps the water pumped out in bits and not very hot . Shower hose dripped the water , so not a great shower
Lovely pool. Nice helpful staff. Lovely grounds
Food was poor value, Wetherspoon quality, but much more expensive. Nice Italian a short walk away. Jacuzzi was empty and out of order.
The spa wasn't relaxing as we would have hoped very average facilities. Room 11 had a mystery patch on ceiling where upstaurs had leaked in. Decor not updated since the last century! Literally!
We really loved the size of the room; we were lucky enough to get a room with a four poster bed, and the room was still big enough to fit a desk, a two-seater sofa, wardrobe and TV. The bathroom was also great; we had a bath that had a jet function included. Staff were very friendly and helpful and food was very yummy. I have stayed here previously and have used the spa facilities and had some treatments; fab facilities, and the lady who did my treatments was lovely and professional.
The only thing kinda wrong was that when the jets in the bath were switched on, flakes (possibly limescale) came out of them. Not a massive problem; we just took them out.
Attractive location in close proximity to Guilford.
Gives the impression of operating on a shoestring: a generally tired look. Convector heaters only in the rooms. The bathroom therefore cold and very uncomfortable. The bed/mattress was dreadful. The breakfast was appalling: cold coffee, cold tea, scrambled eggs (cold) that were claimed to be made from real eggs not powder but tasted like the latter and virtually no fruit on offer.
Nothing in particular.
Public areas were cold and unwelcoming. Bar and restaurant were poorly furnished and lacked atmosphere. Food was average at best. Single bed was child size. Bedroom was cold and shower was poor. WiFi was poor throughout the hotel. They need to get the hotel right before banging on about the spa. Price was way too high for what they are offering.
Only thing to like was the location.
Spa and pool facilities out of order, the bed so uncomfortable, food very basic. We left after only one night and our request for a refund on the prepaid booking was refused. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Nice atmosphere and helpful staff
Pool and area
Tired look and feel Needs decoration Food not always available
Fantastic location nice breakfast
Bed was worst I've slept in in a long time really uncomfortable
The location is pleasant with attractive views out on to parkland. The bed itself was comfortable.
The heater did not work in my room and the decor had seen better days in the bathroom. The dinner choice was uninspiring and much of the cooked breakfast was cold , with especially rubbery scrabbled eggs. Wifi did not work for much of the evening, which caused great inconvenience to many people staying. It was not worth the money I spent and I would not stay here again.
Lovely grounds and very quiet room. Staff friendly and helpful.
Bathroom facilities very tired and shower stopped working during the shower. It's a £13 cab ride into guildford, but reflected on room price.
