It was very convenient for a function/celebration at West Clandon; we did not eat at the hotel as a result of the function so cannot comment on food. The hotel was beautifully located, with spacious grounds, the building adequate if perhaps a little 'tired', but our ground-floor room was comfortable (if lacking an outlook) and the spa/pool was an added bonus which had encouraged us to book the hotel.

we were only there overnight, but we enjoyed the spa/pool complex, and the restaurant served a good range of food at reasonable prices

Attended wedding service and reception with a two night stay in a twin room. Organisation and wedding facilities were good; as were the staff and the food. Health & Safety including fire precautions were adequate for the hotel given the age and type of converted structure. Booking facilities were good and easy to use. Management and organisation with regard to the day to day running of the premises were above average. Based on the experience of our room the maintenance of facilities was below average and showed a lack of periodic checks. Toilet seat was loose, mattress for one bed was to big and both matresses were uncomfortable. Also the plumbing system needs a serious update with a long wait for warm/semi hot water to run. Shower controls caused some difficulty as well. Overall just about bearable for a short stay.

it looks like an old manor house with a pleasant entrance where you can sit. It is old fashioned but comfortable. Our room was big with a sofa and a chair where it was relaxing to sit. We ate in the restaurnt which was acceptable for the price.Breakfast was good and very good value. We enjoyed walking in the grounds. The staff were interested in our two small birds, they were thoughtful in selecting a room where the birds were less likely to upset other guests. When I telephoned to ask if we could take our pets I had the positive answer before I had finished the booking. On the down side the shower did not work as it should and the door lock was faulty. We reported this to the staff on checking out we were told that the repairs would be done.

Reasonably convenient for Guildford in a pleasant environment. Good food, reasonably priced if you take advantage of the deals. Accommodation price good if you can get a deal. The hotel had a sort of faded elegance to it. I had a single room with single bed in what was probably the attic. It was very small, basic and 'faded', but with a large bathroom probably as big as the bedroom. Persistent low level (but annoying) noise from some sort of external appliance or machinery.

friendliness of the staff food in the restaurant spa facilities the double bed was unbelievably uncomfortable the camp bed put in the room for our son was old, partly broken and impossible to sleep on - he ended up finding the floor more comfortable! this might prevent us from staying here again although location wise it is perfect for our purposes. New beds please!

The hotel was great value for money, very clean nice single room, good spa and gym facilities, the staff were friendly and the food was great value too. The location was ideal to travel into the centre of Guildford but had a lovely countryside setting too. The hotel as 3 star was excellent but some of the carpets etc are starting to look a little tired on the landings however my room I think had recently been redecorated, the shower could have been better

We wanted a place within an hour's drive where we could walk and relax in the gym, sauna and jacuzzi and we were not disappointed. The gym lacked atmosphere - probably because of the transient nature of the users.

The bedlinen did not have a clean smell to it only after my money had been taken did anyone care to ask if my stay was enjoyable.

Everything except the double bed in room 21 was a wee bit small given the we are use to a proper king size double bed.Otherwise the room was excellent as were the staff and the duty manager.True quality at a very reasonable price. Suggesstion: I am disabled, probelem with steep stairs as my legs muscles are dying; why not have a room on the ground floor with double beds. Double bed as above. I originally booked a twin room but the Hotel were kind enough enough to call me back after my booking advising me the stairs were steep and given my disability they offered me a ground floor room with a double room.

Although the staff were nice and tried very hard, the place for me was drab and unwelcoming and in need of a complete re-furb. I stayed for four nights and found the room servicing poor, bar very expensive and breakfast was not include in the in the single room rate (£74.00 per night). I was due to stay for two weeks but cancelled the second, I won/t be staying there again.

Lovely grounds. Free wifi was welcome due to terrible cell reception. The bed was dreadfully uncomfortable. It was so bowed that you feet were higher than your head whenn lay down.

Reasonably good leisure facilities and good value for money in Surrey area A bit tired and certainly not as grand as the name suggests, but this was reflected in the room charge.
