The Royal Golf Hotel is situated on the first tee of the Royal Dornoch Golf Club. Many rooms have stunning views of the course and the sea.
Score from 71 reviews Superb
Just 20 minutes from Inverness, Kincraig Castle Hotel is a period property with magnificent views, and boasts a central location for exploring the north of Scotland.
Score from 45 reviews Very good
Staffed by local lassies from Tain. Charming, cheerful and efficient. Manager claimed he just let them get on with it. Clearly an expert manager. An older "Castle" style building retaining much of the original style with skillful adaptation. Comfortable and welcoming. We had a basic room on a late booking which was more than adequate. Dinner was good in a pleasant dining room. Located on a quiet residental street in Tain but only a short distance from the town centre.
Not really a dislike, more a pointer. Because of the nature of the listed building the hotel does not have disabled facilities but would direct any one requiring such facilities to their sister Morangie hotel.
value, cold water shower
In annex on side not really in the castle. Well worn room
Fabulously spacious room!
Early entry to our room prior to an early wedding. Extremely helpful staff. An excellent breakfast. Access to the hotel at 2.00 am, which went on longer than we had anticipated.
Room 24 was a long way away from the hotel entrance for a "mature" couple over 70 years old! We did struggle a bit, and would ask for something closer next time.
Nice bedrooms. Breakfast choice average (fruit salad with a lot of sugar).
Very friendly staff, good food, great service and a nice location, well recommended!
We wanted to stay one night in a castle to get a nice Scottish castle feeling and Mansfield castle was a good choice. Castle itself is very nice. We stayed in executive room Rose in main building which interior was very authentic and romantic. The room was nice and comfortable, dinner delicious, staff young and super helpful and friendly.
Dinner menu was presented on a copied piece of paper which felt strange vs rest of the experience. Breakfast nothing special.
Very good food Nice bar Close by Whiskey destilleries
restaurant menu limited restaurant cooking moderate
The location and the space
The food was overpriced and of moderate quality
We were 4 tired cyclists, arriving later than planned. Our bikes were stored safely & we fell into the lovely comfortable bar for drinks & then decided to stay put & have dinner there too. Lovely food & great friendly staff. Thank you!
Not being able to imbibe in a Bloody Mary at breakfast time due to getting on a bike!
Staff attentive, helpful very welcoming
Bed not the most comfortable
Being upgraded to Tower Suite. Helpfulness of Staff. Breakfast.
Canopy over the bed. Limited choice of beers. Staff cannot distinguish between singular and plural 'you'.
Helpful friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and excellent meals.
Food was excellent - superb meal
Room a bit "tired" and radiator next to the loo literally roasted my knee while I was "sitting down" !
The staff displayed a lack of professionalism.the quality of the food was poor
Very friendly staff, hotel has atmosphere.
No lift, corridors had some steps.
Excellent food, efficient friendly helpfull staff, excellent room.
Very large good room. Good access to lounge and facilities.
Breakfast could have been begetter. Bacon fair, croissants terrible.
Staff were lovely and food was great.
charming and quiet location
Staff very helpful
The lady running the hotel was very helpful and informative. She seemed genuinely interested in us as guests and changed our broken tv as soon as we reported the fault. The receptionist was also very friendly and welcoming. We had to check out very early the day we were leaving and they gave us an excellent breakfast before the normal scheduled time. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious!
The hot chocolate lacked any chocolate flavour which was a shame.
Peace and quiet
