The grounds The house has great potential I have been told it is due to be renovated later this year. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent.
The house is run down. The rooms need updated.
Location and views all round Hotel.
The welcone The position The view The service The food
Size of bed room
duvets were quite thick so we were a little warm!
Lovely old mansion house with nice views undergoing restoration. Nice luxurious touches. Comfy bed. Good food
Breakfast only served between 9-10am I am not an early riser would have liked it a little earlier
Fantastic location, with great staff who were very friendly. Perfect for a seaside holiday with small kids, it would be a great place for anyone.
Although it's in a really beautiful location, with nice walks and close to the sea and main national routes, you still need to have a car to get there and to get around when your there!
Lovely location, lovely views, beautiful garden, and tasty breakfast.
Would benefit from a lounge area for guests.
location evening meal variety and preparation friendly relaxed atmosphere
some more variety at breakfast needed a good deal of updating and general tlc needed, without losing the character of the place. Evening meal prices were rather high even for the good standard we stayed in 'attic' room which was cramped but didnt see others
The Manager was excellent.
Breakfast is timed at 09:00 to 10:00. This is far to late for business travellers. A breakfast tray can be arranged but it is so basic (choice of cereal and milk with orange juice): no warm drink. The relationship between the restaurant and the hotel is not clear - would it be too dificult to arrnage an earlier hot breakfast with them. Consequently - no point in using this hotel for regular business travel.
Location pretty good in nice grounds. Main hotel very nice. Staff great and very helpful. High standard of cleanliness everywhere. Breakfast was traditional English (Welsh) and was really nice - not too fatty, well cooked and very tasty. Room was relatively quiet except for a hum from below (we were on the top 'attic' floor) which you soon forgot about and wasn't unpleasant anyway
My main gripe is the room we were given. Paid for a superior room, but it was pretty damn small. It was in the converted attic and on one side of the bed you had to crouch below the sloping ceiling and concentrate on not banging your head on the beams when getting in or out. Smallish window. The bathroom was also tiny - I've been in Travel motels, like the F1's in France and even theirs were roomier. So, for a 'Superior Room' I was unimpressed - I hate to think what the 'Inferior' rooms are like. If I'd been staying more than one night I would have asked to be moved to another. The only other thing was that the dining room only appeared to be accessible by going outside the hotel, taking a wee 20 yard walk and re-entering. Not a problem for us, but worth mentioning - it was dry while we were there, but if it was chucking it down it could be inconvenient.
Not enough choice of products at breakfast. eg only orange juice served, an uninspiring selection of cereal. Why no Laver Bread? Dusty, unloved look of the hotel with lots of paint chips on woodwork which made it look dirty. A toilet should always have a sink in it for hand washing otherwise germs are getting spread into the bedroom and possibly further afield by having to open the door from said toilet into the room. Toilet/shower room is not suitable for larger persons due to the very constricted space!
Breakfast was good and dinner was very good. We would have liked there to be a lounge area to sit and enjoy the view
The outlook from the room was obscured by the fire escape and it was very basic
The views from the hotel and rooms are amazing, the hotel is going to being refurbished according to the new owner and we would be happy to return in years to come to see how the hotel has been refurbished. The breakfast and meals in the restaurant were very good and good value for money.
The guttering, the flashing and the flat roof all need replaced as a result there is water ingression into walls and ceilings
Staff - location - breakfast was great
Coffee was terrible - public areas very jaded . Considering main business is weddings it was very gloomy and dusty . Bedrooms were fine
great location, the staff were so friendly and happy to go out of their way to help with everything. I needed to make a Skype call to the US and they located a chair for me and told me the best place for the wifi to make my call. happy to recommend local beaches etc
The breakfast was lovely however not a lot of choice for dinner on the menu, the steak we ordered was way overlooked however they did apply a discount because of this. DELICIOUS pudding too!
Loved the view of the estuary from the lawn- perfect for a pre-dinner drink especially as they brought the menu out for us to browse! Loved the restaurant but possibly bit expensive. Only met two female members of staff who were helpful and friendly. Loved our stay there. Thanks so much.
The location is stunning. We felt quite at home. The family and all their staff made us feel very welcome. The food was quite delicious! We feel quite happy to recommend Mansion House to our family and friends, and hope to visit again in the future.
There was nothing we didn't like.
The grounds were tranquil with a lovely vista of Llansteffan beach. The staff were helpful, humourous and had a knack for making their guests feel special. The host and hostess are very hospitable and the staff made me feel at home.
I really wanted a small writing desk in my room.
a great of quality throughout , giving a feeling privilege , comfort and tranquility without the slightest sense of snobbery
Lovely location and nice staff
The whole place needs a good clean, redecoration and modernising
The room was a bit tired, the staff were excellent and the food was fantastic.
The environment is stunning, the grounds are beautiful Breakfast was great The people were friendly
The room and shower were extremely small. The bed was uncomfortably wobbly and the duvet was heavy and extremely hot. WiFi did not work in the room and only sometimes in the restaurant.
Beautiful property, beautiful setting. Absolutely charming, welcoming hosts and staff. Wonderful food and lovely, quiet, spotless, comfortable room. Wonderful setting and size of hotel to take over for a wedding.
No internet. No comfy lounge, but hotel under new management and lots of refurbishment proposed to address this later this year, so I wouldn't let it put you off, the atmosphere and attention by staff more than compensate.
The warmth and friendliness of proprietors and staff. Beautiful location.
Location was outstanding for views and for touring West Wales Friendly and welcoming
Phone signal patchy
