Comfortable room, great location, free parking, friendly staff, lovely breakfast

Great location, free glasses of wine on arrival, explanation of services, breakfast included.

The climb up the stairs, but we knew beforehand and we chose this location despite the fact that it clearly stated that there was no lift!

pleasant staff, great breakfast, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, cleanliness, little touch's like dressing gowns and big soft towels.

could do with a telly in the communal lounge

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I felt that the room was too small. Couldn't open wardrobe properly and the bathroom was difficult to move in.

Room clean, plenty of towels and toiletries. Hearty breakfast. Staff helpful at all times (including taking 2 of our suitcases up to our room.)

Steep Stairs. We were on the top floor, if you are infirm or elderly a request for lower floor would be essential.

Great view. Handy for the cliff lift to get to the seafront. Free parking.

Carpet wasn't completely clean down the sides of the bed - Dyson required! Strange bed. Both of seemed to roll to the middle of the bed.

The attention to detail in the decor is quite impressive. That's reflected in the way the staff handle any queries. Like staying with a very sophisticated family.

The weather but Mansion House can't be held responsible for that!

The location in the South Bay was lovely. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. We asked for a family room which was spacious & comfy. The breakfast was excellent.

All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. It was our wedding anniversary and they put roses in our room and a card on our breakfast table.

Not being able to have an evening meal at the hotel. We didn't pick up during the booking process that evening meals weren't on offer. This could perhaps be made clearer

Comfortable, warm ambience, quality furniture and decoration. Friendly, welcoming reception staff. Delicious, generous breakfast with quality ingredients and helpful waiting staff. Pleasant, comfortable room with all facilities. Beautiful sea views from the spacious and welcoming public lounge. Lovely cliff and sea walks right from the front door. Easy and free parking.

Lack of elevators

The room was clean and tidy and constantly warm. Which was greatly appreciated. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

The dvd player in the room did not work.

Some items seemed shabby eg curtains and tie backs.

Warm and comfortable, lovely view of the bay from our front bedroom. Nice lounge, daily papers. TV and DVD player. Good breakfast very nicely cooked and a good selection of other breakfast cooked food. Good service.

Decor a little bit dated (1990s). Chairs in room could be more like lounge chairs rather than waiting room type.

I liked the way that a 200 year old building had been brought up to date in a sympathetic way. The staff were helpful and friendly without being intrusive. I like the elevated position and the distance from the centre of Scarborough as I enjoy walking. The breakfast choice was excellent. I liked that it was well-appointed yet keenly priced.

I would have liked a chair in my single room but appreciate lack of space would make it difficult to fit in.

Great breakfast including good choices for vegetarians. Really good to have a family room with beds suitable for older children or adults and no irritating rules about maximum ages of children. Nice mixture of old and ethnic fittings and furnishing, and good quality bedding & extras. Friendly, helpful staff & a warm welcome.
