Staff were very helpful - Room very quiet and overlooking garden. Bar prices excellent - Not a rip off as at some other local establishments. Good Breakfast
The décor left a lot to be desired - Public area carpets were worn with obvious water leaks showing. Ventilation by open window with wooden block to hold it up!
Quiet location by river. Room was clean quiet an spacious. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, with godd choices. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Communal toilets could do with updating.
This is the first hotel which I was asked to pay full amount in advance , staff very distant not friendly, corridor carpet towards our room for crying, and the bread that they brought us for breakfast had mold on it.
1..On arrival, the receptionist was extremely pleasant and cheerful. The waitress at breakfast was equally impressive. Indeed they were the only truly positive aspect of our stay. 2..Breakfast was of a high standard, and enjoyable. 3..The view of the grounds from the dining room at breakfast was very pleasing to the eye.
1..Upon arrival, the sign in drive-way suggested 'run-down', this thought also applied the external appearance of the house: and our fears were soon to be confirmed. 2..Upon entry, the awful smell was overpowering, and was evident through the corridors enroute to the room. 3..The carpets were worn and appeared dirty. 4..The decor leaves a lot to be desired. 5.The bedroom furniture is dated beyond belief. 6..The dismal view from the bedroom window was a solid wall (warning of this should have been sent). 7..Fittings, furnishing, drapery, throughout the hotel belong to a bygone era. 8..Considering the overall run-down condition of the hotel, the cost of a night's B&B was disgraceful. We would have expected a better class of establishment for £153. 9..There was a 6-inch crack in the hand basin. 10.Upon checkout, I did voice my complaints, and was advised that the hotel would be renovated in the future!
The location is perfect. It's 3 star rating is reasonable for the condition of the property. Breakfast was excellent. The room was big enough for three adults. Price was fair for high season. Positioned on a large garden near the Ness river walk. Easy walk to city centre and staff were very helpful. Accommodation was clean.
The decor is definitely tired and in need of refurbishment. There was a musty damp smell along the corridor where our room was. No safe and we were on the ground floor so security could have been easily compromised. The window to the garden didn't lock. This property has been beautiful and has huge potential.
staff very friendly, location very good
musty damp smell on entering and in corridor. window held open by block of wood wooden frames need replaced
Hotel was very well-situated near the river and within very nice surroundings. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was very good and the breakfast choices were excellent. Staff friendly.
Unfortunately our shower was a bit temperamental but as we were only there for 2 nights it wasn't a big problem.
Close to town center, castle
All staff made a busy impression. Room was budget level. Breakfast was ok, but plates etc. not as clean as they should be.
Spacious bedroom, cheerful and cobsiderate staff, beautiful location and amazing garden
Weathered carpet, not quite a great breakfast spread, moths in the room, bathroom flush not working
Quiet location and garden
We had 2 very nice rooms. One was decorated in modern style and other in traditional Scotish. Very good service and selection for breakfast.
Staff very friendly & helpful
The hotel is on the River Ness and was a lovely evening walk along it. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a short walk to town and the evenings were peaceful. Food - :-)
There wasn't anything I didn't really like. Although I think the room should of had a radio.
Location and helpful staff, car parking
Small bathroom with slow electric shower, internet slow
Very helpful staff, fabulous location and grounds
Quaintness, location, friendliness of staff, clean facilities, nice food.
Needs a little work in certain areas but a very enjoyable visit. Thank you.
The most comfortable bed we have slept in. Staff very nice ,very good breakfast choice.
Sorry to see the jam at breakfast was French and not Scottish.
The staff were really friendly and the service was good. Breakfast was good and it was right across town and had a lovely view of the river. Great value for money. Will definitely be back again!
A place better home away from home facing the river Ness surrounded by serene surroundings
Very friendly staff from front desk to gardener. Convenient location lose to town and the beautiful islands in the river which were recommended to us by the gardener. Thank you so much for your hospitality, we felt very welcome and comfortable.
