Led by award winning chef, Jim Kerr, the Cristal restaurant, with its gold and cream tones and large windows that look out onto the gardens and woodlands, offers a bright, luxurious setting in which to enjoy fine cuisine.

Advance reservations recommended, available to non-residents.

Step back in time with traditional afternoon tea served in the Grand hall, served between 14:30 and 17:00. This must be pre-booked 24 hours in advance. Light lunches and snacks are also served here from 12:00 until 16:00.

The hotel offers extensive leisure and fitness facilities. The Earl of Mar golf course is currently under construction and is due for completion in 2008. Please contact the hotel for further information and membership details.

Each bedroom and suite is lavishly designed, where calming blues, rich burgundies and dramatic blacks are the dominant tones of this Gothic mansion house.

There are club rooms in the spa area, and in the main house are standard classics, classics and suites.

Standard classic and club rooms can be set as double or twin. Please note these rooms have restricted views.

Glasgow Airport is 6.3 miles from the hotel and best form of transport is a taxi which costs around 10 GBP.

Glasgow city centre is 13.9 miles from the hotel, a taxi will cost you around 15 GBP.

The nearest train station is Bishopton which is 2 miles from the hotel and from there you would need to take a taxi (around 5 GBP).

Parking at the hotel is free, and there are 300 spaces.

Travel information

From The South:
- Take the M6 then exit onto the M74, then the M73/M80 (Stirling).
- Take the first slip road left for M8 Glasgow City Centre and continue (Westbound/Glasgow Airport).
- Exit at Erskine Bridge, following signs for Bishopton/Erskine.
- Take a left at the 1st roundabout signed Bishopton and continue past HP Compaq on the right, going straight through a mini roundabout, past Bishopton parish church on the right (Drumcross Road on your left).
- Take the next immediate right at Gatehouse and follow the road straight into Mar Hall.

From M8 (Eastbound):
- Exit at Erskine Bridge, follow signs for Bishopton/Erskine and continue as above.
